1. Just Trying To Study!

3912 Words
“Keep it down! I am trying to study for my finals!” Pulling her mid parted chestnut colored hair behind her ear, the teenage queen sighed, fixing her round rims on her eyes and lifted one of her eyebrows up, that dilated her big wide green eyes, that she was infamous around the whole family and almost half of the world that she got it from her mother. But her sharp jawline, thin slated Greek nose and ellipted yet round lips, were all the gives of her father’s genes. She grunted in annoyance, passing her way through the thick crowd that cornered her at the very entrance of the large American themed marble tiled, all black and white kitchen. “Excuse me!” she asked the drunken topless boys, who were showing off their muscular abs to all the other drunken and highly horny girls in the kitchen, as they did shots in the small glasses to the expensive tequila placed in front of them. Loud hoots and screams were blazing off in the entire room and in those screams, no one heard the poor girl’s voice. “Luke! Nick!” She screamed out loud and she heard no response, as she was once again pushed back by the crowd, who felt that she was deliberately being pushed away from the crowd. “Luke!” she tried to screech as loud as she could but the shaking beats of the music that echoed and shook up the walls of the entire house. “Maybe! He is not in here.” She concluded, feeling defeated that no one was responding to her calls. She turned on her heels and walked out towards the overly crowded pool area. As she saw young underage slingers, dunking their vomits, their semen and sweat and even their beers in that pool, she made a brain check of having the pool entirely sanitized with bleach so that it can be purified of the insanity that was thrown in it, due to her brother’s irresponsible behavior. She roamed a gaze around the pool area and still found it void of those two boys that she was so desperately searching for. She closed her eyes and cried in irritation and exhaustion. She cried to her parents to not to go away, a week before her final exams because she knew if there was a weekend and even if it was the end of the world and her two careless brothers got the house free for themselves, they wouldn’t miss it for the world and throw a damning party. Turning away from the open pool area, she pulled her cardigan over her tank top, that clung to her breasts and waist, making sure that no one would be able to prey their gazes at her. She was quite a petite yet curvy girl but being a teenager, sister two of the most, in fact THE MOST handsome boys in the school, she was always left, feeling a bit conscious of herself. Even though, her mother tried several times to make her feel better, by using different diets and therapeutic methods, wanting her daughter to be happy in her own skin, but she just never felt very comfortable, wearing skimpy clothes, just like the pair of those two girls, who sat at the very corner sofa of the gallery of her living room, smoking put out of a glass bong. She was about to climb up the square shaped stairs, when she paused midways and groaned, rolling her eyes at the back of her skull. Shaking her head, she walked up towards the two girls, standing up at their head, noticing their threaded weaves of dresses that each of the two twin blond sisters wore. She couldn’t help but feel cringed at the fact that those two were, once the top scoring students at her school and also her best friend in freshman year. Once, she wouldn’t have imagined the two without breasted sweater vests and big round glasses around their eyes and now, they were barely wearing those seamless threaded dresses, that merely cling together over their breasts and threatened to pop down and tear away any given second. “Where are they?” she crossed her arms over her chest, looking down at the fellow blondes, who were busy burning meth with a fancy lighter, over the bottom of their bongs. “Who?” asked one of them, looking up at her ex friend, with droopy eyes. “Who would I ask about from the two of you?” she c****d back at them, showing right off, her distaste in standing there and continuing to talk to the two meth heads. “If you think, we would know where your two w****s of brothers are Camila, then we don’t.” spoke the other one, who finally sucked in through the fuming melted crystal and blew a thick cloud of smoke up in the air, that made Camila take a step back, avoiding inhaling any of those fumes. “Your brothers…” the other twin coughed, as she spoke in the middle of trying to suck air in, “… they f****d us over two years ago already, don’t you remember?” Camila scoffed, as she held her hands over hips, rtadiating nothing but disappointment in her ex best friends. “It was three years ago! You wouldn’t remember that because you were busy f*****g them, while I was the one warning you two to not to get involved with my brothers.” “Can’t argue with that! They did have good dicks.” The two sisters admitted, laughing out loud, making Camila squirm in disgust. She groaned in disgust and walked away from the two, walking in to the front lawn, where she knew her brother usually went crazy during their parties and much to her expectations, she saw that a fire was burning somewhere in the garden of her parent’s beloved estate. She waked towards the crowd that was huddled around the fire, that gave off the feeling of a bon fire but Camila was well aware that it wasn’t just some regular bon fire. She had remembered well that around two weeks ago, her mother had asked the housekeepers to throw out some old yard tables but her brothers paid the housekeepers off and told them to keep the furniture somewhere in the back of their parent’s huge lawn and one of the storage units and when the party was on, Camila could tell that they took the furniture out just to burn it and act like ravages. “f*****g idiots!” She mimicked her father’s Italian accent, as she spoke to her own self and walked herself to the front of the circle, pushing through the crowd. Reaching in the very front, there she saw her shirtless brothers standing in front of the fire, screaming and hooting out loud as they, threw more broken wooden furniture in to the fair and took big gulps out of the beer bottles. She felt disgusted looking at the two girls standing next to the triplet curse; the remaining of her two brothers. Just like the two junkies before, those two were also apparently her best friends, during her senior year and thinking that she had finally found good friends, until she was shocked by the value of the fact that no one truly indeed became her friend for her and only used her as a ladder to hang out at her place and seduce her brothers, which was as easy as distracting a child with a candy. But they were always the center of the attention, just like they were at the moment. There were a lot of reasons to accord for the attention, that her brothers received. A.   Their looks. They had that perfect chiseled jaw, those jet black hair that young horny, teenage girls loved to run their fingers through. Their eyes, ocean blue, light when in love and dark when angered. All those perfect commutes and features that were enough to make them naturally confident and popular. B.   They were rich. There wasn’t much explanation to that. They were simply just born to a Mafia Lord and a nutritionist. It simply made them plausibly natural attention earners. C.   They were athletic and polar opposites, which made them even more attractive to many girls. That they could sleep with the different boys with the same face. There wasn’t much common sense in that phenomenon that Camila would like to find but each girl who slept with one brother, told Camila that she had also slept with the other one. Camila hated listening to the details but every now and then, she would have someone tell her what it was like to be with her brothers. Camila had little time to fret about her unfortunate fate in friendships and instead she needed to focus on keeping the party as much on the low side as possible. “Hey! Turn it down.” She yelled at her brothers, who were in the middle of throwing another chair in to the bonfire. “Shut up!” Someone yelled at Camila from the crowd, pushing her away, which made her stumble forward and land with her face on the ground. She cried in pain, looking at her right and saw that the fire was only a few feet away from her, which made her immediately roll over her back and get back up. “What the f**k?” her brother yelled out loud, walking ahead and carrying the broken leg of some old rotten chair in his hand. He grabbed Camila’s shoulder and looked up at her from head to toe. Although, no one in the entire crowd had even been able to differentiate between her two brothers. They three were triplets, the only set of children that their parents ever had. It was deeply engraved in their minds but that is an entire story to be talked about some other time. Currently Camila looked at her brother, who was holding her and she knew it instantly that it was the bigger of the two evils. “Luke!” She saw as his gaze shifted from her and then went back towards the boy in the audience, who had pushed Camila previously. She was surely able to differentiate between the two brothers, because of the very uncanny haircut that the two had kept, on the insistence of their parents. Their mother, was at times not able to different between her sons and it made her feel like a bad mother but she was not someone to be pushed down, therefore, she came up with a brilliant idea of differentiating between her sons. She asked Luke AKA Lucas, to let his hair grow and asked Nick AKA Nicholas, who cut his hair in to a handsome puff. Pushing his long side parted hair, that cut in to layers and fell from his ears to his neck, in to a well crafted length, Lucas walked up towards the jock who pushed his sister. “Why the f**k did you push her?” he sneered, walking towards the boy and Camila held his arm, trying to stop him from causing any violence. Luke turned towards his sister, looking at her, trhough his sharp eyes, that squinted low in anger and looked like two straight slits. The blue of his eyes, cut right through Camila’s soul and she knew that it was already too late. “It is alright.” She tried to reason it out with him but it was already too late for Lucas. He simply shrugged his sister’s hands off and continued making his way ahead. “Wait! She is your sister?” the baffled jock asked. He was pretty tall and buff for a high school kid but he was surely dominated and scared of the guy who was making his way towards him. Camila was about to walk ahead and stop Lucas, when she felt a hand stopping her from move any further. She turned around to see her other brother, with the short gelled back hair, shaking his head at her. “It is already too late.” He told Camila, who huffed in aggression. “Come on, Nick! You have to stop him.” “Nothing can stop Luke now, you know him.” Nicholas pointed out and pushed Camila behind him. Walking towards the jock, Lucas smirked at him. “You didn’t know she was my sister?” The poor jock shook his head and a Lucas laughed out loud, lifting the wooden piece in his hand, that made the poor jock flinch back in fear that Lucas was going to hit him but much to his surprise, Lucas lifted that ledge over his shoulder and threw it back in the fire. “The party is over!” He announced out loud and the entire crowd booed in response. “What? He is the one who ruined my mood by pushing my sister down.” Lucas told everyone, who stepped ahead and began reimbursing and cursing the boy for ruining the party. The jock sighed in response, that it was his lucky day when Lucas was not going to kill him for shoving his sister down. “I am sorry dude! I just saw a very boring nerd and decided to push it down.” He patted Lucas’s arm, pretending that everything was fine between them and everyone in the audience, sighed shaking their head in utter disappointment. Many had already started leaving and Camila shook her head as well, rolling her eyes. She was already pretty tired and worked up. She didn’t need to stand back and see another jock or bully going down at the hands of her brothers. She walked away along with many people and in the background, she could hear the jock’s screams and cries, as her brother beat her to pulp, whilst Nicholas, only guided the girl with him towards his bedroom. Many had started emptying the house, as Lucas’s little minions began yelling at them to clear up the house, as the man of the party was definitely pissed off and also busy doing what was practically a crime and beating up a kid. But that wasn’t something he would have to worry about even if someone was there to witness his audacious acts. No one was to ever go against the Santiago family. One of the most powerful families, not just in a country, or a continent but in the entire world. Camila simply came back in to her room, closing the door behind and walking inside to slump on her plush bed, pushing aside the pink chiffon curtains off from the bed frame and crying over how annoying it got for her at times, when her brothers would throw parties at times like these and the only way for her to get rid of them would either complain to her parents or threaten her brothers to rat them out to their parents or have someone bully or cat call her in the party, which would piss her brothers off and they would end the party right off. They were protective, so was her entire family. But she never felt that she fit in that family. They were all outlaws. Her mother’s side was filled with Italian Mafias and her father, himself ran one of the biggest money laundering cartels in the world. They had many front businesses to pretend that everything they did was legitimate and also they were very powerful and everyone in the entire world was scared to even touch them knowing that they would first end up six feet underground buried alive if they were ever to hurt or hunt the Santiagos and then they would obviously suffocate and fly up over the cloud nine in heaven where their souls will be the next thing floating up in the sky. Camila never actually resented her family. She didn’t hate them. Initially she was annoyed by how everyone in her family was too violent and would get away with whatever they wanted to but just as she grew up, she started getting used to it. She herself never succumbed to actually using her family’s usual ferocious ways. She always knew that it was wrong, compared to her brother Nicholas, who was just a wimp in their eyes and basically never had the guts to fire a gun unlike Lucas, who fired his first round of bullets on his ninth birthday, after stealing his father’s gun and running in to the woods and blazing wild fire. He was punished by their mother but not by his father, who had recognized the boy’s potential. Camila just began understanding the dynamics with which her family worked and so, therefore, she had become the daughter of the largest mogul family in the world. Sitting up straight, Camila opened up her laptop and directly went to her f******k. Clicking on the search bar, she typed, ‘Kappa Nu Lambda’. The private group for Camila’s dream sorority popped open. Her mother had went to the same sorority and had told Camila so many stories about her time there. Camila wanted to live a life just like her mother, but at the same time her mother had told her to be cautious of the fact, that she was a lone woman, when she lived that life. Her father hadn’t found her and her mother hadn’t found Camila’s father; Alejandro just yet. She had listened to the entire story of how the whole debacle unfolded and her mother ended up finding not just love but her long lost family as well. Camila scrolled through the sorority’s private group that had most of its posts hidden and a group picture of the current sorority members, who were smiling, holding out the Greek letters to form the group’s name. “How cool!” Camila smiled, enticed and excited at the thought of being one of the girls who would hold that sign and be a part of that picture. She scrolled further down in to the group and saw that among many other public announcements they had posted a new one. Camila fixed her glasses in excitement and squinted her eyes very keenly to look at the announcement posted by the sorority but all of her excitement faded away as soon as she realized that it wasn’t just any normal announcement to tell the public about any changes in the sorority’s administration or leadership but in fact, was actually an announcement that Camila dreaded to see posted before at least her final exams were over. “f**k!” She stated, as she read the announcement that was filled with fancy signs and glittery letters, in order to make it more appealing to their target audience, that were high school senior teenage girls Kappa Nu Lamba! Κ ν λ!  Go! We are proud to announce that Kappa Nu Lamba, is opening up its gates for new sorority members. As we bid a farewell to our oldies! We are so happy to tell that this year, instead of accepting twenty new members, we have opened up our doors for thirty new ones! Yes! Thirty new members will join our wonderful sorority program! So, what are you waiting for? Apply right now and you could be one of the thirty new students to get accepted at our sorority this year. Hurry up! Application dead line is on 1st of June, so it could be your chance to me a Kappa Nu Lamba Queen. “What?” Camila though, opening up the calendar on her laptop, that had all the important dates listed. She immediately marked 1st June of the year, as the application deadline and noticed that the result to her finals was also on 1st of June, which meant to her that she needed to collect all of documents to apply at the sorority of that particular college, where her parents were definitely not in the favor of letting her go. His father had already secured three seats, via donations as Harvard for her brothers and her but Camila was never the one to enjoy the perks of money or security that her family was willing to offer. She had always lived under the shadow of her family and college was the only gateway that she was kept open, in order to escape for at least four years and be a person of her own. She couldn’t let her parents force her to go to Harvard with her brothers, who would yet again ruin the friendships that she would establish, just like they did for her throughout her high school years. She looked at her calendar and realized that the deadline to apply at Stanford in psychology also was at 2nd June, just a day after the sorority applications ended. Camila sighed, closing her laptop and slumping on her back on the bed. For her, it was to do or to die. It was her entire life. She had mapped out the plan to go to Stanford even before going to high school and she had become more determined about the plan when her brothers ended up sleeping with the twin best friends that she had in freshman year, because she knew that they weren’t going to be the only ones. Year after year, whoever sat, talked or even walked past Camilla in her school, would somehow end up in her brothers’ bed and it irritated her. For once, she just wanted a girl to be friends with her and her only and not for the potential sake of catching her brothers’ eyes and ending up with him. She was used multiple times as a ladder towards her brothers and she was sick of it. She just only wanted an escape and enjoy her college life to the most, just the same way she knew her mother would have enjoyed as well. She worked hard in her studies. Unlike her brother, she was smart, intelligent and information savvy, always making sure to be the brains of any situation that she got stuck in with her two idiots brothers. Camila let go off an exasperated breath and closed her eyes, mapping out how she will be able to get in to Stanford and her favorite sorority, only days before the application deadlines. In fact, it wasn’t just days for her and it was hours… she had to make sure to get the best result so that her parents would be happy for her and let her apply to her favorite college and sorority. She was ready to risk it all and live her ideal college life and nothing was going to come in her way. --------------------------------------------------                      Hello!
