Chapter 1: One-Night Stand
Thessalia found herself wandering through the forest. She was drunk, so her steps were shaky and her mind was foggy. She was surrounded by darkness, and long shadows danced around her shaky body. Her senses were weakened, and the haze inside her was making it hard for her to see clearly. The woods were quiet, but then a person stepped out of the darkness. Alpha Marcus... The sight of him jolted her mind, which was clouded by alcohol. He took her to the den, which was a safe place hidden from nosy eyes and the rest of the world. The entrance was in front of them. It was a doorway into a place where they could let go of their fears and follow their wishes. It drew them in, offering a break from the chaos of their lives and a chance to talk to each other. Their meeting was a haze of blurred images and fleeting sensations. The way Marcus's hand touched her arm, how his words echoed through the trees, how warm he felt next to her, and his hot, passionate kiss. It was strange as if reality and fantasy had merged, leaving her lost in a world of doubt. Marcus got closer to them, and his presence was overwhelming and all-consuming. Her senses became sharper, and her body responded to the raw attraction that he gave off. The smell of his musk surrounded her and made her less able to defend herself. "Do you want me?" His voice dripped with seduction and his warm breath tickled her hot skin. The force of his question hung in the air, begging for an answer that she couldn't seem to give. "I-I-I..." Her voice trembled, her hesitation betraying her internal struggle. She tried desperately to find the words to describe how much she wanted him, but they slipped through her fingers like smoke. The weight of the moment, the intensity of his look, and the weakness of her own wants left her mute. "Answer me!" Marcus's voice was filled with passion as he ran his fingers along her body. Her breath caught, and the touch made her feel energized. She let out a soft moan that showed how much she wanted him. His demand for a quick answer fanned the fire that was already burning inside her. "Yes," she said with a breath. Her hips instinctively moved as she wanted to feel the warmth of his hand, which she knew would spark their passion. At that moment, she gave in to what she wanted and let her body lead her to a place where pleasure and intimacy met. The fiery touch of his lips burned into her skin and sparked a primal reaction in her. Every nerve ending seemed to wake up, making her body shiver with pleasure. As their link grew stronger and their bodies moved in a synchronized dance of desire, the world around them became less important. In the middle of their passion, time stopped. All of their fears and questions vanished into thin air, leaving only their wild, uncontrollable desire to be together. For a short time, she let herself be taken over by how strong their bond was. *** The next morning, Thessalia woke up to the sound of birds chirping outside. As she opened her eyes, she realized that she was lying on a bed, naked and alone. Memories of the night before flooded back into her, and she felt a flutter in her stomach. She got drunk and ended up in a strange place. That was ridiculous! She tried to piece together what had happened. She saw her clothes scattered on the floor, a reminder of what had happened. This wasn't her cabin. This wasn't where she had intended to spend the night. She sat up slowly and looked around. Something wasn't right as she discovered she was in a strange den. The walls were made of rough stone, and there were no windows to let in the sunlight. The only light in the room came from a few flickering candles, casting shadows across the walls. The floor was covered in a thick layer of fur, and Thessalia could feel the softness beneath her feet. She wondered what kind of animal it came from, and shuddered at the thought of sleeping on such a surface. As she looked closer, she saw that there were animal skins hanging from the walls, along with various hunting weapons and tools. It was clear that whoever lived here was a hunter, someone who lived off the land. Suddenly, the door of the room swung open, and a man stepped inside. She felt her heart skip a beat when she saw him. He was tall and broad-shouldered, with piercing green eyes and a rugged beard. He looked like he belonged in this wild, primitive world. It was Marcus, the Alpha of the Red Moon pack. What was he doing here? She tried to recall how they ended up in this place together, but the memories eluded her like fragments of a shattered dream. She strained to remember, to grasp onto the fragments of their interaction, but her memory remained stubbornly clouded by the veil of intoxication. It was until the memory of her vivid dream appeared in her mind, etching its passionate details into her consciousness. She could still feel the warmth of Alpha Marcus's touch, the intensity of their connection that transcended the boundaries of reality. The dream had been so vivid, so tantalizingly real, that it left her breathless and longing for something she couldn't fully grasp. That was not a dream! Marcus walked over to her, his expression unreadable. "Morning, Thess," he said, his voice deep and resonant. "I hope you slept well." Thessalia blushed, feeling embarrassed. "Um, yeah, I did," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. She looked up at him, feeling a sense of unease. She felt a sense of panic rise in her chest. Had he come to confront her about what had happened between them? Was he going to tell her sister? She had no idea what to do. She could feel the tension in the room, like a thick fog that enveloped them both. She didn't know how to respond. She felt trapped, like a mouse caught in a trap. She had no idea what Marcus wanted from her, or what she could do to get out of this situation. But as she looked into his eyes, she saw something that surprised her. There was a hint of regret in his gaze, a sense of sadness that she had never seen before. Maybe, just maybe, there was a chance for them to make things right. Even though she tried to keep her emotions in check, she couldn't deny the sense of panic rising in her chest. She couldn't remember anything after the first few drinks. After a brief pause, she said, "Did we...did we sleep together last night?" The look on his face swiftly changed, and he turned his head away. "Yes," he said quietly. "But I didn't mean to. It was a mistake." Thessalia felt a jolt of surprise at his words. He was acting as if everything was normal, as if they hadn't just slept together the night before. She couldn't believe how nonchalant he was being about the whole situation. She felt a wave of confusion wash over her. How could this have happened? She recalled last night that she had gone into the forest to have some peace and quiet and to give herself a break from everything for a short while. And now, here she was, lying in a bed with the Alpha of the Red Moon pack. "What happened last night?" She asked, looking at Marcus with a sense of determination. Marcus hesitated, his gaze shifting away from hers. Thessalia could tell that he was struggling to find the right words, that there was more to the story than he was letting on. "Before we ended up being together?" Marcus clarified, his voice low. She nodded, waiting for him to continue. "We were both pretty drunk at a party," Marcus said finally. "I saw you across the room, and we started talking. We were just having fun, and one thing led to another." She felt a sense of disappointment at his words. She had hoped that there was more to their connection than just a drunken hook-up. But it seemed that Marcus had no real feelings for her. She had been hoping that there was more to this than just a one-night stand. But it seemed that Marcus didn't feel the same way. "I understand," she said, trying to keep her voice steady. "It was a mistake. It won't happen again. I'll make sure of it." Marcus looked at her, concern etched on his face. "Are you okay?" he asked. Thessalia couldn't help but feel a sense of irritation at his question. Of course she wasn't okay. She had just slept with her sister's soulmate, someone she knew she shouldn't have been with. But she didn't want to show weakness in front of him. "I'm fine," she said, trying to sound as casual as possible. "It was just a mistake. Let's forget about it." Marcus nodded, but as she looked into his eyes, she saw something that surprised her. She could tell that he was struggling with his own emotions. There was something in his eyes, a sense of sadness that she had never seen before. As Marcus got up to leave, she couldn't help but feel a sense of regret. She had made a mistake, coming here, getting caught up in his charm. She knew that she needed to get out before things got even more complicated. "Wait," she said, stopping Marcus in his tracks. "What are we going to do about this?" Marcus turned to face her, his expression unreadable. "There's nothing we can do," he said quietly. "We made a mistake, and we have to live with the consequences." Thessalia felt a sense of frustration rise in her chest. She didn't want to just sweep this under the rug and pretend like it never happened. But at the same time, she knew that Marcus was right. They couldn't undo what had been done. She tried to keep her composure, but inside she felt a sense of sadness and loss. She had let herself believe that there was a chance for them, that maybe Marcus felt the same way she did. But it seemed that she had been wrong. There was no chance for them. "I understand," she said, trying to sound brave. "I must go now." And with that, Thessalia got up and left, feeling a sense of rejection and heartbreak. She knew that she couldn't let herself get caught up in this forbidden act again. Not only would it be a betrayal of her sister Charice, but it would also only lead to further complications that she didn't want to deal with. However, she felt guilt and embarrassment as she returned to her cabin. She realized she had made a horrible decision when she gave up her virginity to a man she shouldn't have. Her tears fell uncontrollably as she walked, the weight of her mistake heavy on her heart. She had always prided herself on her strength and independence, but now she felt weak and vulnerable. The pain of her longing for Marcus was amplified by the cruel twist of fate that bound him to Charice, her own sister. If only circumstances were different, if only their connection wasn't marred by such complicated ties, perhaps things would be easier. But life had a way of testing one's resolve and presenting challenges that seemed insurmountable. The images played in her mind like a reel of forbidden fantasies, tempting her to dwell on the allure of what could never be. The reality of their complicated circumstances crashed down upon her, reminding her of the boundaries and consequences that kept them apart.
