When - soon to be Alpha - Drew and Mystery meet, the world turns upside down, awakening dark forces and crashing into evil plots.

Gazing directly up at Drew, Mystery boldly announced, "I would like to introduce my wolf, Amethyst. We both love you more than the world."

"Amethyst. Beautiful!" Max, Drew's wolf crooned, Amethyst's eyes glowing purple. "Mine!"

"Yes," she whispered. "and you are mine."

Mystery pulled Drew's head down so that she could capture his lips. His lips tingled on contact. "She might be beautiful, but we are both fierce warriors. That witch and all her foul evilness will wish they had never messed with me. We will crush her!"

Drew just gazed with awe, feeling lovesick, yet stronger than he ever had before. The moon goddess was right. They would be an indestructible force for good. Their enemies should run in terror.

Mystery seems on the surface to be a normal, emotionally damaged, nomadic young woman who just happens to bumble into the world of wolf shifters. Meeting Drew sparks off a journey of discovery for Mystery.

What Mystery learns about her true self, changes not only her world, but the world of everyone she comes to love. The evil that is after her, should have run when they had the chance. If Drew manages to awaken both her wolf and her magic, her power will be fearsome.

Mystery and Drew
Mystery stretched her arms above her as she sat on her bed, looking out at the lake through her open back doors. What a wonderful place this was to park up and stay the night. She wasn't entirely sure where she was, as it was dark when she'd spied the turn off to this little lake. Just pure luck really. That tended to be her attitude towards her life in a van. She often let the adventure lead her. She allowed the warmth of the early morning sun seep into her body, whilst an odd feeling of well-being crept up on her. Her eyes settled on the rising sun, watching the glorious reflections colour the beginning of a new day. She let the unfamiliar sense of peace and harmony with the world soak in. What would the new day hold? In the distance she heard a quiet, but distinct, sound of an engine. She'd always had unusually acute hearing, so she knew that it was at least a mile away. She had time to make up her mind. Would she stay and share her peace with another human being, or would she beat a hasty retreat? Whilst pondering her decision, she dressed. Her body indicated that it was hungry so, again, she had a choice: stay here and have breakfast in the van, or go into town and find a cafe. The car sounded a lot closer and she realised that it must be a sports car, being able to distinguish the engine sounds. Definitely a powerful sports car and approaching her at some speed. Ah well, better at least have a cup of tea and let her peace be disturbed. She'd enter the world of noise and people later. For now, she could drink her mug of tea outside and admire someone's pride and joy. It sounded classy, whatever it was: a purr, silky smooth gear changes and that musical tone of a car cornering on air with the ground sucking firmly. What treat did these wilds of Scotland hold in store for her. A little flutter of excitement momentarily appeared. She let this unknown come to her. She was far too tempted. Today's decisions could be made by fate. Mystery made herself comfortable in her fold up chair, just outside her back doors. Cup of tea in hand, biscuits by her side, the sleek, powerful car came to a slow, smooth stop. As she dunked her biscuit in and out of her tea, she suddenly realised just what she was looking at. Her dream car sat right next to her. A deep metallic purple Aston Martin DB5 purred at her. The biscuit never made it into her mouth. Mystery was now drooling over something infinitely more appealing than her biscuit which soggily dropped onto the grass below her. Partially dragging herself out of her stupor, she walked towards the machine, without any conscious thought. Mesmerising, was closest to the word needed to describe this glorious machine. The breaks were a juicy red. There was not a scratch on it. Oblivious to any human occupants, Mystery walked around the car with her fingers over the skin, not quite touching. This was too majestic to actually touch, stroke and caress, even though that was exactly what she wished to do. Finding herself at the driver's side of the car, she blinked in surprise as the car door opened. From within a tall young man unfolded himself from its sleek interior. Despite the awesome effect of the car on her, Mystery drew her gaze up to look at the stranger. Her eyes opened in surprise. She couldn't help but compare him to the car. He was just as pleasing to look at; another well-built machine. As the stranger gazed at her, Mystery felt the heat rise up her neck and cheeks. A smile played about the corners of his kind eyes and he gently raised his lips. They were very attractive, kissable lips. Mystery shook herself a bit and to hide her blatantly hungry reaction, and made herself speak in her normal manner. "Who are you?" Grunted Mystery. Her tone was demanding and in no way inviting. Years of experience had honed her defence mechanisms to a sharp point. The only thing about her that was soft were her breasts and hips. Otherwise she was lean, toned and sharp - just like her tongue. The stranger c****d a brow and replied with a growing smile, "Drew. That's me. I call the car Cassie. She is a beauty, so I completely understand your wish to touch and gaze at her. You can sit in her if you want." he generously offered, gesturing to the front seat. Automatic reactions kicked in and she immediately replied, "No thanks." In a very firm, blunt tone. There was no smile on her lips now. She was guarded, ready to fight or retreat, but her eyes betrayed her. She was taking in every inch of this man in front of her. He towered over her. How on earth he managed to fit into that car was a miracle. Drew held his hands up in the air. "Hey, no problem. Just an offer. It is lovely to see even more natural beauty in this heavenly spot. I've never come across another person here, let alone someone my own age. The only people who know about this place are the locals." His brow knitted together at this statement. Even this frown seemed to make him attractive to her. Mystery looked at this athletic, well built man and decided that the kindness he displayed wasn't just a front. She relaxed a little. His unease at her being there was unsettling though. She was used to aggression, people shouting at her to move on. He didn't seem to be telling her he wanted her gone, but he did seem uncomfortable with her being there. Taking her gaze away from his now brooding face, she looked down at the ground. "Well, I know when I'm not wanted. I'll pack up and go. I was about to head into town now anyway." She looked back up at Drew to indicate that this encounter was over, only to see him raise his hands again. He seemed to like surrendering. Her mind took her to some delicious places for a second, but she shut that down quickly. "I have no wish to drive you away. It's just a very isolated spot and the locals can be a bit grumpy. They are very territorial. It's rare that anyone else comes here, which is why I come here often to contemplate. This beauty calms me." He spoke in a softly quiet voice, almost as if he were trying to comfort a wild animal. "If you are going into town, why don't you let me buy you breakfast - unless you've already eaten." He gestured towards the van. "Not necessary. I'll just get on my way." She didn't move for a moment, delaying her departure for some reason. Finally she pulled her gaze away, turned sharply and jumped into the van. Quickly starting the engine, she reversed away from the lake shore and rapidly weaved along the small wooded track. Her thoughts were still at the lake, still looking into Drew's green eyes. She'd run away, keeping herself safe as she always did. She firmly reminded herself that avoiding people was avoiding trouble. She didn't mix well with others. However, her thoughts seemed reluctant to keep up with her. For some reason, she was very drawn to Drew. With a deep sigh, she pulled out onto the main road. The lake - and Drew - were left behind.
