The Vampire King and his Hybrid Queen

Author's note: Hi everyone welcome to the second book in my Supernaturals of Africa series. This is the sequel to The Alpha King and his Lunar Wolf Mate. This can be read as a stand alone. happy reading! ------------------------ A woman is running through the woods holding a small bundle that is wrapped in a blanket in her arms. She is trying to escape the people who are after her. The woman has special powers but she cannot use them now because she has been injured severely by the men who are after her. She stops behind a tree and she tries not to make a sound. She then looks at the little person that is in her arms. "it won't be too long my son. We are almost there." She says and then she hears a twig snap a few feet behind her. "She has to be here somewhere. Keep looking!" A male voice says. The woman decides to keep still for a few more seconds until she hears the footsteps fading away. She starts running again in the direction of her people. The men who are after her, hear her and they start chasing her again. "We cannot let her get away. The King will not be pleased with us if she manages to escape again." The same male voice from earlier shouts again. The woman runs as fast as she can but the men are gaining in on her. The woman is named Alura. She is the first-ever Lunar wolf. "Alura let me take over and get rid of these bastards." Alura's wolf Lira says. "I can't let you fight them now. We are not at the meeting point yet." Alura replies. "You are too weak to carry on running like this. I am trying to heal you but my wolf healing doesn't seem to be working." Lira replies. "It must be because of whatever stuff they put on their blades that is causing our powers to slow down a bit. Maybe Morgana will know what this is." Alura says. Alura looks behind her to see that the men are still after her. She turns around and blasts them with her lightning powers, throwing them further away. Alura turns around and starts running to where she has to go. She can feel herself getting weaker. "You should not have done that!" Lira yells at her. "I had to do that to protect Castor." Alura says. The men get back up and they start to chase her again. "b***h you will pay for that." The leader of the group yells. Alura looks ahead of her. She sees some people from beyond the trees. She sees her friends Morgana and Aries. Her mate Caspian is also there. Caspian is the King of the Werewolves. "There she is, I see her!" She hears Caspian yell. Caspian shifts into his big black wolf and he starts charging towards the men who are chasing Alura. Caspian starts fighting the men, giving Alura a chance to reach her friends. "What is the status update of this attack?" Alura says as she looks at Aries. "The demons are way too many for us to handle. They are wiping us out one by one. Demon King Orpheus is also here. This attack took us by surprise. The bodies of the human warriors who have joined us in this war, have been taken over by demon souls." Aries replies. "I know. What about the other kingdoms? Are they on their way?" Alura asks. "We sent word to Vampire King Cane Black, Elf King Tharion, Dragon King Leonidas and Fairy King Richard but we have heard nothing back yet." Aries replies. "I seriously doubt that Dragon King Leonidas will be able to help us. His dragons are almost wiped out because of the human hunters." Alura replies Alura takes a look around the battlefield and she sees that they have lost more than half of their werewolf warriors. Their bodies are scattered all over the field. "Alura you are injured. Here let me help you." Morgana says. She takes Castor from Alura and gives him over to Aries. "Here hold him while I take a look at Alura's wounds." Morgana says. "My wolf can't seem to heal me fast enough. The demons must have some sort of potion on their weapons. Something that can slow down our werewolf abilities." Alura says. Morgana takes a sample of the purple liquid that is around Alura's wounds. Morgana smells it. "This smells like wolfsbane." Morgana says. "What is that?" Aries asks her. "It is a type of plant that can be used to make poison of. I guess werewolves can get weak from it or even die if they get a huge amount of this wolfsbane poison in their system." Morgana says. "Will you be able to extract this poison from my body?" Alura asks her. "Yes, I can. Just give me a second." Morgana says as she pulls an empty bottle from her satchel. She also pulls out her purple staff. Morgana then swings her staff over Alura's body while she mumbles an incantation. Caspian has rejoined them after he has successfully taken care of the group of demons who were after Alura and Castor. Caspian takes Castor from Aries and he looks back towards Alura. Morgana has successfully removed the poison from Alura's body. "There. Now Lira will be able to heal you quickly." Morgana says. Lira gets to work and she heals Alura's wounds. They hear shouting heading their way. Alura snaps her head to the left and she sees a group of demons charging towards her and her friends. She looks back towards Caspian. "I need you to run. Take Castor and get as far away from here as you can." Alura says as she takes out her sword. "Alura no! I can't leave you to fight this war alone." Caspian says. "I know that but you have to, do it for our son and our people! Go now!" Alura says. Caspian looks at her and then he nods his head. "I love you Alura. I always will." He says. Somehow he thinks that this moment is the last moment that he will see his mate alive. "I love you too. More than you will ever know." Alura whispers as she sees Caspian running away with their son in his arms. "You guys know the plan right? Remember, we do not kill the humans that these demons are possessing. We should only injure them enough for Morgana to extract the demon souls from their bodies." Alura says. Morgana and Aries both nod at her. "Yes but I still think there is another way to defeat Demon King Orpheus." Morgana says as she raises her staff towards the group of demons that are heading towards them. Aries raises her bow and arrows towards the demons. "I agree with Morgana." Aries says. "There is no other way. We cannot kill him but we sure as hell can trap him." Alura says as she raises her sword in the air. Alura and Aries charge towards the demons. They injure them while Morgana summons the demon souls out of the human bodies that they are possessing. Morgana holds the demon souls in the air and then she throws them back into a portal known as the gate of hell. Alura and Aries attack more and more demons so that Morgana can throw their souls back into the fiery pits of hell. Demons keep pouring from all sides of the three women. Alura and Aries can feel themselves getting tired but they are not giving up. Alura then lets her wolf, Lira, take over. Lira blasts the demons with one of her energy blasts making the demons fly up into the air. Lira then catches their bodies using her telekinesis power. Morgana extracts the demon souls from the human bodies and just like she did with the other demons, she throws the demon souls through the portal. The three women then snap their heads towards the woods where they hear a sound coming from. "Is that what I think it is?" Aries asks. "It sounds like a horn." Morgana says. "Sounds like the elves are here." Alura says. At the same time, the demons stop attacking and they too are staring towards the woods. Elf King Thorian and Fairy King Richard come running out of the woods with the elf and fairy warriors behind them. Among the elves is Thorian's two sons, Dorian and Elgar. They start attacking the demons. The war goes on with Alura and Aries also attacking the demons. Just when they think that everything is coming to an end tonight, more demons take them by surprise. Alura looks around as she hears a deep voice speaking to them. "You think you can beat me, little girl?" The voice asks. Alura knew then and there who that voice belonged to. "I may not be able to kill you yet but I sure as hell will go down trying." She replies. "Oh, such a feisty little girl you are. I might just keep you around as my little servant." The voice says. Alura feels the ground shaking beneath her, she knows that the creature is standing behind her. She turns around and looks at the Demon King who is standing behind her in his true demon form. He has grey skin, red eyes, two huge horns on top of his head, he also has large nails coming out of his fingers and he has a tail with spikes at the end of it and his teeth are as long as her hands. He stands at least 10 feet tall. Basically, he is towering over Alura. "I am not a little girl anymore, you asshole." Alura says. "No, you are just the b***h responsible for sending some of my warriors to hell and for making these pathetic beings rebel against me. I will make you pay for that." Orpheus snarls at her. He goes to attack but he feels something stab him on his back. He looks over his shoulder to see that Vampire King Cane has stabbed him with his dagger. He rips King Cane from his body along with the dagger, throwing him to the ground. "You f*****g bloodsucker! I will make you pay for that!" Orpheus says as he sees some of his demon souls being sucked into the crystal that is on the dagger. He wants to stomp his foot on King Cane but King Cane dodges out of the way. Cane jumps back onto his feet and he attacks Orpheus along with Alura. They are keeping him busy while Aries, Morgana and the other Kings and Warriors fight the demons. King Cane's vampire army is there fighting with them. When Alura sees that almost all of the demon souls have been sent to hell, she turns towards Aries and Morgana. "Aries, Morgana NOW!" She yells. She kicks Orpheus in his stomach, making him stumble back towards the portal that is now right behind him. Aries runs to stand next to Alura. They fight Orpheus side by side. They manage to get Orpheus right in front of the portal without him noticing it. Morgana comes and stands to Alura's right side. Morgana and Alura then pick Orpheus up together using their telekinesis powers. They throw him through the portal. Orpheus enters hell screaming "NO!!" Alura turns towards Morgana and Aries. "You have to do it. You have to use my wolf's soul to seal the gates of hell. If we don't, he will be able to escape and then all of this fighting for freedom will be for nothing. It has been our destiny all along." Alura says. Morgana and Aries both look at her. "It seems that you will not change your mind, After all this was your plan. We will miss you, my friend." Morgana says. "There is just one thing that I want you two ladies to promise me and that is that you find Caspian and Castor and look after those two for me will you." Alura says as she looks at her two best friends. "Yes, we will we promise." Aries says as tears start streaming down her face. "It is time," Alura says. Morgana raises her staff and she starts mumbling an incantation. Aries raises her bow and arrow towards Alura who has raised her arms and she has her eyes already closed. "I will miss you my friend." Aries says as she shoots an arrow straight through her friend's chest while Morgana is still mumbling the incantation. The remaining demon souls also get sucked into the portal as a light shoots through Alura's chest and it consumes her body, the light then forms a huge ball just over Alura's body. Her body falls to the ground. Morgana takes hold of the light in her hand and she guides it towards the portal. The light then forms a shield around the portal and then it closes the portal down. After Demon King Orpheus and his demon army were dealt with, King Cane, King Tharion, and King Richard come to stand next to Alura's body. Aries picks Alura's head up. "What the hell just happened?" King Cane asks as he bends down on his knees next to Alura's body. "She sacrificed herself to save us all. Demon King Orpheus is now trapped in hell for eternity." Morgana says as she too bends down next to Alura. ---------------- Alura wakes up in a field that is filled with all kinds of flowers. She looks around and she sees that she is alone. She stands up and she starts walking around. "Hello. Is anybody there?" She yells. "No need to yell, my child, because I am here with you." She hears a voice say from behind her. Alura turns around and she sees a woman standing behind her. "Where am I?" Alura asks. "You are in the realm between life and death." The woman says. "Who are you?" Alura asks her. "You know who I am." The woman replies. "Are you the Moon Goddess?" Alura asks her again. "Yes. My name is Selene." Selene replies. "Why am I here?" Alura asks her as she takes another look around. "We are here because we died." Alura hears another voice say from behind her. She turns around to see a beautiful large wolf standing in front of her. "Lira?" Alura asks the wolf. "Yes, that is me. Your one and only wolf." Lira replies. She comes and stands next to Alura. Lira then lays her head on Alura's shoulder. Alura runs her fingers through Lira's hair. "You look different. I like this new look you have now." Alura says. "I am not the only one that looks different." Lira replies. Alura's natural black hair is now white. "I guess we can cross over now." Alura says. "You did great my child. But I am afraid your destiny is not over with yet." Selene says. "Why not? We did what we had to do and that was to get rid of Demon King Orpheus. He is trapped now." Alura sneers at Selene. "Do not raise your voice at me, young lady." Selene says to her. "Sorry." Alura apologizes. "Trapping Demon King Orpheus in hell was never your destiny." Selene says and Alura looks at her confused. "Right now in this realm, your souls are here." Selene says. "How is that possible? Lira's soul was used to seal the gates of hell." Alura says. "No. Not her soul. Only the essence of her power was used. Soon you and your wolf will be reborn into a new body and only then will your true destiny be revealed to you." Selene says. "Until then you will spend your days in this realm until you are ready to go back to the realm of the living." Selene says. Alura wants to ask her how long that will be when Selene proceeds to answer her question for her. "Time works very differently in this realm. A hundred years in the realm of the living is only an hour in this realm. You won't even notice that you have been here that long." Selene says and Alura nods her head at her. "I must warn you. When you return to earth, you will have no memory of this place and also no memory of your previous life." Selene says. "But I don't want to forget anything. Especially not the memories I have of my mate and my son." Alura says. She starts feeling sad when she thinks of what Caspian and Castor might be going through right now. "Have no fear because your memories from your previous life will come back to you at the right moment." Selene says. Alura looks at her with a relieved expression on her face. "I will leave you alone for now and I will only return when it is time for the two of you to go back." Selene says. She disappears into thin air right in front of Alura. "So would you like to go and explore the place?" ------------------- Back in the realm of the living, thousands of years have passed. Countries were formed and supernatural Kingdoms were built. Humans have forgotten all about the supernatural beings living amongst them. They believe that werewolves, vampires, fairies, elves and dragons are now only myths. Selene is visiting a forest just outside of Durban where she is witnessing the new Lunar Wolf, Thalia Fernandes, coming into her power with her friends and her mate, Alpha King Damien Burns standing alongside her. "This is always fun to watch." Selene says to herself. When she sees Damien and Thalia running off into the woods in their wolf forms, she knows what is about to happen now. They are about to mate and mark each other for the first time. "Time to go and get my angel." Selene thinks and she returns to the realm between life and death. She sees Alura and Lira running around through the flowers. They both stop as they hear Selene call them. "It is time to go now." Selene says as she raises her hands towards Lira and Alura. She then sends their spirits back into the realm of the living and she plants them inside Thalia's egg at the same time that Damien's sperm penetrates the egg.
