Cinderella and Her Mate

(Aspen’s p.o.v.) Many of the pack was sitting around the table as they were eating their breakfast. I stayed in the kitchen making everything as it would start to get low. They didn’t seem to care if I ate at all, and if I did eat, it was just one meal a day and usually dinner. After all the pack ate their breakfast, I went and started to clear the table. After the table was cleaned off, I moved back to the kitchen to clean everything. Dishes were done and I looked at the time to see that it was around ten o’clock. I headed to the laundry room and pulled the clothes out of the dryer. I switched over the clothes from the washer to the dryer and started up a new load. After that was all said and done, I walked over to the bench and started to fold clothes. As I was folding clothes, the Alpha of the pack came in and looked at me. “Aspen, after dinner tonight you are to put the invitations in the mail for Chris alpha ceremony.” Alpha Jay demanded. I learned not to speak unless I was given permission. I nodded my head as I was folding. He lingered around for a few minutes, watching my every move. Seeing that I was doing nothing wrong, he walked out and left me alone. I put the last load in the dryer and saw that it was one o’clock. I let the dryer do its thing, then I went back to the kitchen to start making lunch. Sandwiches and fruit are on today’s menu for lunch. I cut all the fruit up and put them in individual bowls. Thereafter I had finished cutting up the fruit, I started to make sandwiches. Just as I finished with everything, the pack lined up and started to grab everything. Then when the pack was done eating, I picked up after and cleaned the dishes. I finished the laundry and started to put the clothes to the right pack members bedroom. I placed everything on the bed for them to put away everything. I took the time after I had finished, to take a break. I never usually have a break, but I picked up my book and started to read again. Before I knew it, I was back in the kitchen making dinner. I put food to the side for me and would eat after I cleaned everything. Just like that, dinner was over and done with. I finished my dinner and cleaned up after myself. I went to the small mailing office that we have in the pack house. I started to put the addressed on the envelopes. Once they had the stamps on them, I would put them into the drop box. After I was done, it was around midnight, which means everyone would be asleep. I went back to my room and grabbed clean pj’s. I walked to the bathroom where I shared with the rest of the omegas that worked and stayed in the pack house. I washed my body down and my hair. After I was done, I stepped out drying my body and hair. I put my hair up into a high bun and put my clothes on. I brushed my teeth and washed my face. I headed back to my room and laid on my bed. I staired out the window and looked at the clear stary night. I’ve been told that when you wish upon a star, that dreams will come true. I have been wishing so hard for someone to find me, but it seems like it was going to be impossible for someone to come. I started to give up hope and started to drift to sleep. ~next morning~ After cleaning the kitchen from top to bottom, I headed to the bedrooms to start to do my cleaning. I knocked and waiting for a response from one of the rooms, to make sure no one was in it, when I heard some of the other omega’s talking about a guy that would be visiting. “I heard he is single, and still looking for his mate. He is a rich billionaire who knows how to spoil the right girl.” I heard one of the omega’s talks. I shook my head and walked into the bedroom when I got no response. When I was satisfied with no one being in the room, I started cleaning. I did this until I reached the Alpha’s office. I knew that he was in there because I could hear his voice, along with a husky voice. Something in my heart made me want to just rip open the door and stair at the man, but I didn’t. I knocked on the door and waited for an answer. “Come in.” I heard Alpha Jay say. I let out a breath as I opened the door and walked through. “What is it Aspen? I am in an important meeting.” He spoke. “I just came to clean your office sir. I can come back if you need me too.” I spoke. I saw Alpha Jay just shook his head no, “Go ahead, though you did clean yesterday.” Satisfied with his answer I started picking up the two trash cans and pulling out the bags that were in them. I replaced the old bags with a new one. I went over to the desk and grabbed the empty plates off the table. “Alpha Jay, this is my last room to clean. Is there anything I can get you and the guest?” I asked before I walked out the door. “Go ahead and make some tea. Make sure to bring sugar cubes and milk.” Alpha Jay said. I nodded my head and bowed. I walked out of the room closing the door behind me. ~Jack’s p.o.v.~ I was in a meeting with Alpha Jay, when I heard a small knock on the door. It seemed so soft and innocent that it didn’t seem like there was a knock to being with. “Come in.” Jay said with irritation in his voice. The door opened to revile a beautiful girl. She had long jet-black hair, and neon green eyes that look like they can pierce a soul. Her lips look like she was wearing lip stick, but I know that was not the case. I felt a tug on my heart and brain that made me drawn to her. My wolf started to purr and spoke to me. I know why you are drawn to her. Why am I so drawn to her? You must wait two more days to find out. After I was told that, I knew that she wasn’t seventeen yet. “What is it Aspen?” Jay asked. Aspen, such a unique name to have. “I just came to clean your office sir. I can come back if you need me too.” She spoke. Such a soft voice that it made my heart skip a beat. Was she destine to be my mate? I sat wondering to myself. I say Jay shake his head no, “Go ahead, though you did clean yesterday.” It seemed like she was satisfied with his answer. She started to dust and took care of the trash. Jay was speaking to me, but I wasn’t paying much attention since my attention was on Aspen while she zoomed around the office. “Alpha Jay, this is my last room to clean. Is there anything that I can get for you and your guest?” she had asked him. I ignored what Jay had said and watched as she bowed and walked out. “What do you think of the arrangements that we have going on for Saturday’s ceremony?” Jay asking me when he knew that my attention was back on him. I looked over the plans again and saw that they were going to do the changing Alpha ceremony right away and the rest of the night would be for food and a big party. “Seems like to me you want to do the ceremony first, then do the party after. Why not mix it up a bit? Have dinner first, then do the ceremony. After the ceremony is done then have the celebration and dessert.” I said with all seriousness. “I figured we would get the serious stuff out of the way, then everyone can let loose and celebrate.” Jay said. Usually when it comes to an alpha ceremony, usually you do more formal where you have dinner then everything else, but I can see why Jay wants to get everything done and over with. “I can see and understand why, Chris is still the party type?” I asked Jay. Jay let out a sigh. “I don’t want to hand over the pack to him because I know that he is not ready, but I have no choice. He isn’t getting any younger and I am unfortunately not getting any younger.” Jay said. After that sentence was made, there was a knock on the door. “Enter.” Jay said. Aspen came walking in with a tray that had the tea on it. She took her time and made Jay’s tea just the way that he liked it. “How do you like your tea, Alpha Jack?” Jay asked me. I looked at Aspen, “Two sugar, light.” I said to Aspen. She nodded her head and made my tea. As she handed me my cup, our fingers brushed each other’s. (Aspen’s p.o.v) Jack, that was his name. I was wondering who the guy was in the office name was. I handed him his tea and our fingers brushed each other’s and I felt electricity pulse through my arm. I felt my heart skip a beat. I pulled away and was about to take the tray. “Leave the tray Aspen. If we need anything else, I will send for you.” Alpha said. I nodded my head, “Yes, Alpha.” I left the tray and walked out the door. I shook my head and started to walk down to the laundry room to finish folding the laundry. After what seemed forever, I got called back to the office again. I let out a sigh and made my way up to the third floor where the office was. I knocked on the door and waiting for an answer. “Enter.” I hear Alpha Jay say. I opened the door and walked through. “You called for me again, sir?” I asked as I bowed my head. “Yes, Aspen can you please show where Jack will be staying. He will be here for the next few days until after Chris Alpha ceremony is over.” Alpha Jay answered. I nodded my head. “When you are ready Alpha Jack, I will be outside the doors.” I spoke. I bowed my head again and walked out the doors. I figured I would be waiting for a bit, so I brought my book and read while I waited. About an hour passed, and I was a few pages from finishing my book. I heard a chough from in front of me. I looked up, and saw that Alpha Jay and Jack were standing in front of me. “I am so sorry. I was reading to pass the time while I waited for you guys to finish your meeting.” I spoke. “It’s fine, I just assumed you didn’t hear the door open. Looks like you are almost done with the book. What are you reading, if you don’t mind me asking?” Alpha Jack asked me. I started to blush. “I borrowed it from the library that we have in the pack house. It’s Romeo and Juliet. It one of my favorite stories by Shakespeare. I borrow the book so often; the librarian is thinking about just letting me have the book.” I said with a blush on my cheeks. “To be or not to be that is the questions. Though I am sure that is a whole different story written by him.” I heard Jack say to me. I let out a giggle and nodded my head, “You will be staying in the guest room in the pack house. Which is one floor up.” I said and I lead him to the staircase. It was silent between us. We walked up the stairs and I lead him down the hallway. “Just remember that you go all the way up to the last floor, and your room will be on the last bedroom on the right.” I said as I opened the door. He looked around the room and I saw that his suitcase was here. “I would like to get to know you more, Aspen. I have a strange feeling about you, and I am sure we will know why when you turn of age.” I heard Jack say to me. When he said that, I felt my heart skip a beat. “On that note Alpha Jack, dinner will be at 8 o’clock tonight. After that I hope you will have a good night’s rest. There is a lot of preparation to do for Saturday’s ceremony tomorrow.” I said as I bowed and walked out the door. I was blushing so badly the other omegas were making comments. I shook my head and walked down to the kitchen of the pack house and started to prep dinner. With us having a guest before the rest of the guest that were invited, dinner was to be made as a special one. We made steak, backed potatoes, and green beans. After everything was prepared, I served the dished to Alpha Jay, Alpha Jack, Chris and Luna Wendy. Everyone else was made to serve themselves. While the pack was eating, I made myself a plate and ate in the kitchen like normal. After dinner was done, I cleared the table and put away any leftovers that the pack didn’t touch. I put headphones in my ears and turned my music on.  I did all the dishes by hand which took me most of the night. It was around midnight when I had finished putting away the last of the dishes. I must have been singing out loud because I turned around to see Alpha Jack standing there. I blushed hard and took my headphones out. “I’m sorry if you were standing there for a while Alpha Jack. Is there something that I can do for you sir?” I asked. Jack seemed to be lost in a trance and did not answer me. I snapped my fingers in hope to get his attention, and that seemed to do the trick. He looked into my eyes, and a smile made its way to his face. I do have to say that he was rather handsome. Messy red-orange hair and some facial starting to grow in. My eyes traveled down more, that was when I noticed he was shirtless and in sweatpants. I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at his face. “Sir, is there something that I can help you with?” I asked again. “I just came down to get some water, but I heard your singing, and I couldn’t help but stop to listen. You sound like you can sing professional.” Alpha Jack said. I blushed again and made my way over to the refrigerator. I grabbed a water bottle and walked over to Jack. “Here you go Alpha Jack. Please don’t let anyone know that you heard me singing. I can get in a lot of trouble, to the point that Alpha Jay will lock me up with nothing.” I said in a whisper. I could feel the anger that radiated off him. “Your secret is safe with me. I promise no one will know that you were singing.” Alpha Jack said. I nodded my head and we both left the kitchen walking to the stairs. When we reached the stairs, we both went our separate ways. “Have a good night’s rest Aspen.” Jack said and he walked up the stairs. “Have a good night Alpha Jack.” I whispered. I headed to the omega’s bathroom and started to do my nightly routine. I headed back to my room after I was done and laid down. I picked my book back up and finished reading everything. When Romeo and Juliet were dead, I laid my book down and shut my light off. I stared out the window into the night sky, falling asleep dreaming of Jack, while the stars faded and turned to light.  While I was sleeping, I started to have a nightmare. Screams, that was all that I was hearing at the time I entered this nightmare. There was blood and screams. I remember it being dark, but surrounded by my parents smell. I think I was in their closet being shield with what was happening outside.  After the last scream that I heard, I bolted awake and realized that I was sweating really badly. I let out a sigh and rested my head on my hand while taking deep breaths.  I can't believe I had that dream again. It's been over a year since I have had that dream, but it is coming up on my birthday. Maybe that is why I am having them again.
