Chapter 3 Stranger

Rye’s pov:

            I was dropped off by a taxi at Cornellia St. I was not familiar with the place so I looked around to see where I should go. I wondered if I was in the right place!?

            I walked around to find MB’s Stop where my informant saw the person I was looking for. He said he had seen him there three times so I hope I can meet him there too. I kept walking but I still couldn’t find where it was. I paused for a moment and looked around. Maybe I just didn't notice that I went through it or maybe it was just nearby.

As I looked around, someone suddenly came and grabbed my hand! My forehead furrowed in shock so I quickly turned around and there I saw… a strange woman!

"Because I already have a boyfriend Nico! And I love him so much, no one can change that! Not you, not anyone!" she said out loud.

I couldn't take my eyes off her as she bravely said those words. Her face is so beautiful! Her eyes were shades of blue sky, her cream-colored cheeks were smooth and reddish, and her sugary lips were thin and moist. I glanced at our hands; our fingers were intertwined and even though her palm was smaller than mine… it was very warm.

Wait! What did she say?

Who is this woman?

"And who is that guy? I've never seen him here before! You're lying Zarina, you just want me to stay away from you! I can see it in your eyes that what you said is not true," said the man who followed her.

So, her name is Zarina!? Well, it suits her! I smirked.

I don’t know why she said I was her boyfriend but I don’t think she really wanted this to happen. I could also feel her trembling from her hand. Maybe this guy is really bothering her!? Isn’t he?

"Zari isn't lying,” I said confidently.

Zarina quickly turned to me in surprise and the eyebrows of the man she was talking to were almost touching in annoyance.

"Who are you? Don't interfere with us!" he commanded.

The grin never left my face. I turned to Zarina and I was even more amazed at her alluring beauty. I couldn't help but stare at her as she stared at me as well. A strange feeling was slowly swallowing me and I didn’t know why it seemed like I’m hypnotized by her luscious red lips!

"Zarina! Who's that guy!? Stay away from him!" the guy said furiously.

I'm starting to get annoyed with him because he said nothing but command us. Who does he think he is? My grandfather? Nah!

"She told you, I'm her boyfriend!" I teased him before I finally claimed Zarina's lips.

I just wanted to annoy that guy but… I can't deny that Zarina's lips are so soft and very sweet!

At first, she was startled but later on, her lips moved slowly and kiss me back! That almost made me lose my sanity! Ow sh*t! She’s amazing!

 I restrained myself and ended the kiss immediately even though I really didn't want to. I pulled Zarina closer to me and confidently faced that guy again, "and you can never take her away from me! Never.”

The man left full of frustration. He entered the house in front of us and never looked back. Zarina sighed as if a thorn had been pulled out of her throat. I couldn't help but smirk as I stared at her. Damn it, she's still so cute even though she's stressed out. I just shook my head while smirking.

            "So, where are we going now babe?" I joked at her and she froze for a second.

            I am constantly amazed at her expression. She’s so amusing, ahaha!

            "H-ha? What are you saying?" she asked in shock.

I forbid myself to tease her again because I noticed that she seemed nervous when she looked at me. I don't want her to think that I'm a bad person or I'm taking advantage of what happened earlier so I put a space between us.

"Ahmn, sorry earlier for--"

"NO! T-that's okay! That’s... fine," she cut me off.

I also felt a bit awkward when I remembered what I did to her. Sh*t! I was rude to her!

"T-Thank you. Thank you for helping me," she said suddenly then smiled a little.

I was stunned again by her beauty especially when her dimples appeared on both her cheeks. I felt relieved. I forgot why I was there for a moment. It's still a long day but I'm already tired. Maybe I’ll just look for that place the next day.

“I’m actually going to ask for something in return for helping you,” I told her.

Her eyes almost popped out as if she was nervous and then she covered her body with her crossed arms.

"W-what… w-what do you want from me?" she stuttered anxiously.

Hmn?

I want to laugh again at the expression on her face. What the hell is she thinking? Ahahah!

Zarina’s pov:

            “I’m actually going to ask for something in return for helping you,” he said and I immediately felt nervous.

            I hugged myself thinking that he lusted after my body even though he didn't look like a p*****t. "W-what… w-what do you want from me?"

            He nastily laughed at me, "Wait! What are you thinking? Ahahah!"

            My eyes widened again and my ears smoked in embarrassment. What am I thinking? Ow gash! Can I just sink to the ground? Like, as in right now? What a shame!

            I just bit my lower lip and fell silent. I hesitantly glanced at him and still couldn't get rid of the redness on my face from the humiliation. He stopped laughing but his charming smile was still there on his handsome face. I couldn't look at him directly so I just waited for him to speak again.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to laugh. I was just a little surprised by your reaction," he said while suppressing his laughter. "I just wanted to ask for your help to find a place where I can stay for a few weeks."

I breathed a sigh of relief at what he said. I thought he wanted something else. Stupid thoughts! Shame on me! Gosh!

He's looking for a place to stay? If so, Nico is right, he is not from here. I also noticed that he has a strange accent but he is very fluent in English. Is he a foreigner? I can’t confirm because he was wearing a cap on his head and shades covering his eyes. I became even more curious to see the entirety of his face. He was very manly in my eyes and seemed smart as well. Who is this guy? And where in the world he come from?

Suddenly the apartment next to our bakery owned by Mrs. Rebecca came to my mind. She mentioned the other day that one of her tenants had left so she definitely had a vacant unit there but I was hesitant to tell this guy. He looks rich so he might not like it because the rooms there aren't that big.

"If you're busy, it's okay. I'll just consider that as your debt," he chuckled.

My eyes widened and I took a deep breath. Does he want me to be guilty of what happened? Hello!? He stole my first kiss! Hmp! But… I can’t tell him that! It’s... it’s embarrassing! I felt my cheeks heat up again at the thought. Ugh!

"Am I bothering you too much? Just ignore what I said, I'm just kidding!" he said and turned his back on me. "I have to go. Nice to meet you, Zarina! Bye."

“WAIT!” I called out loud.

He stopped and then glanced at me with no expression on his face. I was also surprised by what I did and my heart suddenly started to pound again. S-sh*t! I don't know why I even called him! Maybe… maybe I just really want to thank him for helping me earlier!? Ow hell!

I quickly averted my gaze, "t-there's… a vacant apartment near our bakery, y-you might just want to see. It's not far from here."

Slowly a smile drew to his lips and he turned to me again, "Really? All right, I'll take a look."

When he said that I slowly went to my motorbike and took my helmet. He was just standing there and watching me wear it.

"So that motorbike is yours," he said.

I nodded and got on my motorbike then I called him again, "Come on, hop in!"

He grinned again and shook his head. "It's a bit odd for me but maybe I'll just consider it a good experience," he said before getting on my motorbike.

I was feeling a little nervous but I just tried to ignore it. He helped me earlier so I should just help him too. I’m just giving back the kindness he did to me!

Wait, was he really being kind?

He kissed me without my permission!

And also, I don't even know him, so I wonder if that's right?

Isn’t it?
