The Lost Princess

1005 Words
“Our lost princess is back!!!”  The man with crystal wings announced, his eyes glossy and smile wide. In the honor of Princess’s return, they decided to terminate the battle and the prisoners were pardoned. The entire stadium was cheering at the development of events, but she was shocked by it. The man with crystal wings held her hand and was about to fly off, when the other nobly dressed man, the one with scarlet wings blocked his way. “I will not let you take Chloe with you!” he said, gritting his teeth. “Blaze, she is my sister. How dare you!”  he placed his hands in front of her, in a protective manner. “Excuse me, what is going on?” Alba asked, confused. “Sister, I am your elder brother, Colden.” “Coco, I am your childhood friend, Blaze” “So who am I, according to you?” Alba rose an eyebrow. “Chloe Krystallos, my sister. The only ‘Princess of Krystallos’.” Colden replied, in a low voice. “Sorry, But I am Alba Christopher. The daughter of  David Christopher and Mary Gipson.” “I know that is what you believe. But just come home with me, we can talk, okay?” Colden said. “No, they wanted to kill you. Don’t go with them.” Blaze said, trying to reach her. “You were the reason for it and it  has always been me who protected her. Stay away!” Colden pushed him. “NO...” Blaze shouted, throwing a punch at Colden, which he dodged. All the guards pointed weapons at each other, ready for the command. “Enough!” Alba shouted, annoyed and to her surprise, even the kings distanced themselves from each other. Alba went to Blaze, “I don’t remember either of you but if what you are saying is true then he is my brother and for the time being I am giving him the benefit of doubt. I will see you around.” She gave him a final smile before holding Colden’s hand. The country looked like Antarctica from the sky but 100 times beautiful. The houses were made of ice too. The palace was gorgeous and it did feel familiar. It was made of ice crystals. Colden led Chloe to her room. The sense of familiarity made her feel like she belonged there. He patted her head lightly. “This must be a lot to handle. I will give you some time alone. Tomorrow is a big day.” he moved forward to hug her but Chloe moved back. Colden gave out a sad smiled and left. Chloe looked around. The room looked like a well maintained kid room and had a large beautiful bed. A lot of toys were kept around the room. She lay on the bed. She couldn’t help feeling like it was all a dream. The parents who meant the world to her were not even her real parents suddenly. How she hoped it all to be just a dream, she would wake  up tomorrow from. She closed her eyes but sleep seemed difficult. All the people that died in front of her eyes, their voices seemed to be echoing in her brain. The desperation in the eyes of men, the cries of women and the brutality on kids, they were just too much for her to ingest. She got up and started examining the room, especially searching the places where she likes to hide things, exploring through everything. When she opened the bottom drawer of the cupboard and there, below the drawer base cabinet, was childhood sketched portrait of hers. She flipped it, it wrote:  "Made By: Blaze Conleth" The knocking at the door woke Chloe the next day; rubbing her eyes, she opened the door. Five maids stood outside with two of them holding a huge number of clothes, hung on a stick. All of them bowed to her and spoke: “Greeting to ‘Her Royal Highness, the Princess of Krystallos’.” “You may rise.” Chloe replied, imitating the way Colden had done it a day before. “’His Majesty, The King’ would like to speak to her Royal Highness.” one of them said, slightly bowing when speaking. “You mean Colden?” she asked, confused by the royal tags. The servant gave each other a gaze before nodding their heads. "Okay, come in!" Chloe left the door open for them to enter as she went to freshen up, but two of them followed her to the bathroom, which was parted by curtains. "Why are you coming in?" Chloe said, feeling uncomfortable. "To serve her Royal Highness." they bowed again.  "No need. And don't bow all the time in front of me." "We don't dare." they said, bowing again. "Okay, just prepare my dress." Chloe sighed though the feeling of getting served was soothing.  Being a royalty felt good! They had given her a dress which seemed to be a formal jump-suit. Once dressed, Chloe felt like a stunning musketeer, ready to save the world. The servants led her to a large hall with a huge dinning table and a servant pulled a chair for her. As she sat for the meal, the numbers of dishes made her hunger grow. As the maid served, she picked up her fork and spoon but the 'tut' sound that came from Colden told her to stop. She placed everything back in place. Once the maid had served everything, Colden picked up his knife and started eating elegantly. Realizing Chloe hadn't begun with him, he made an 'ahem' sound to gain her attention. Understanding him, she started eating, and seeing the way she ate, he couldn't help smiling. Once they were done, she followed him to his study. "From today, you will have your etiquette class in the evening." "I don't need it." "You don't even know how to hold a fork. You are a royalty, this is a basic requirement. Father is returning in two weeks, then there will be you welcoming banquet, before that you need to learn basic etiquette. And, I have another surprise for you." and as if on cue, Crimson came in. Chloe jumped with joy before hugging her. "She is your helper from today. Now get prepared, you have horse riding lessons in ten minutes." "Brother, I will do from tomorrow." "You are supposed to keep your words. That what's a royalty does!!" Chloe nodded, grinding her teeth in anger. Being a royalty sucks!
