Mila’s POV

My mother was helping me load my bags and snacks in my jeep for our little roadtrip to the University. She was quickly giving me a lecture about what I should and shouldn’t be doing on this trip. We were heading there a night before the campus tour and staying two nights at a hotel.

“Mila..I know you’re 18 now and you’ll be leaving for University soon, so you’re basically an adult but i’m still your mother and I get to have somewhat of a say in your life. I just want you to be careful..” My mother sounded very worried and anxious.

“Mommm..Please stop worrying! We booked two separate rooms and i’ll be staying with Annie. We’re going there to check out the campus. We’re going to have fun but we’re all going to look out for each other.” I pleaded.

Annie strolled into my driveway and laughed. “Chill Mrs. Ward! I won’t let her do anything I wouldn’t do!”

“Yeah.. That’s what i’m afraid of.” My mom answered defeated.

I gave my mom a reassuring hug as Tyler, Will and Devin arrived and everyone started climbing into my old jeep.

Annie tried to sit in the front on the passenger side but Devin picked her up and sat her in the middle of the backseat.

“I’m not cuddling up to Tyler or Will for an hour, you’re sitting in the back with me!” Devin said as he winked at her, placing his arm around her shoulder.

“Sounds good to me! How about you sit with us Will? That’ll make me in the sandwich of my dreams!” Annie said jokingly.

Tyler hopped in the passenger seat and smiled at me. I turned the keys in the ignition and waved at my mother and sister who were sending us off.

“WOOO! Road trip!” Annie yelled as she waved her arms in the air.

We drove for about 25 minutes and the boys started to complain that they were hungry.

“I’m not eating this green s**t your mom packed. There’s a diner up ahead! Stop there!” Devin said holding my mom’s guacamole in disgust.

“Theresa makes the best guacamole, Dev. It’s really good I swear.” Tyler said defending my mom.

“Thanks Tyler, but I’m actually hungry for some diner food too.” I answered while my stomach thanked me.

“Oh thank heavens..” Annie sighed.

I parked the jeep in front of this old fashioned yellow diner and everyone jumped out and darted for the entrance. The smell of greasy food was making my mouth water.

We walked in and sat at a large booth in the back, the leather bench stuck to my thighs as I tried to get comfortable. The waitress came quickly and took our orders. Tyler played with the criss cross straps on the back of my tank top while everyone ordered.

“So what party are we hitting tonight?” Annie asked as she sipped on her ice tea. Devin and Will stared at her mouth as she put the straw in between her red lips.

“My friend Liam told me they were having a party at their pack house.” Devin said casually, still staring at Annie’s lips, and then his eyes went to the front of her low cut black tank top.

“What’s a pack house?” Annie looked at Devin with her eyebrows raised. I glanced at Will and his face paled as he glared at Devin.

“Uh..well it’s like a frat house..but uh..it’s for students that come from like a place. Um..” What the hell was wrong with Devin?!

“What Devin meant to say was that it’s for students that come from a certain community. They all grow up quite closely to one another and work together to keep the community thriving. A lot of people choose to work and live outside the community but they still contribute however they can. The leader bought a house close to the University so that kids from there could have an education and a place to stay. It’s like a big family.” Will explained thoroughly. We all looked at him confused.

“So..Are there hot guys at this pack house?” Annie asked smirking.

“Annie, STOP!” Tyler whisper-yelled.

We all started laughing as Tyler’s ears turned red.

“So Ty and Mila, are you guys planning on staying together next year once you both go your separate ways?” Will asked.

“What? What do you mean separate ways?” I was so confused. Where was Tyler going?

“Uhh..Well I received my acceptance letter for the University of Arizona. I haven’t decided on what I want to do yet though. Mila and I haven’t discussed this yet..” Tyler answered like a puppy tucking his tail between his legs.

“Oh, congrats Tyler. I’m kinda bummed I wasn’t the first one you told to be honest..” I wasn’t really sure how I was feeling about this.

“I know babe sorry, I just told Will” Tyler said while rubbing my back.

“Hmm sounds to me like this weekend could be the perfect experiment on how strong your relationship is and if it would last long distance.” Devin added smirking.

“How the f**k is it going to determine how they’ll be long distance when they’re going to be in the same place all weekend?!” Annie asked holding her head in her hand and resting her elbow on the table while tapping her fingers on the wooden table.

“We could split up this weekend and go to different parties. I’ve never seen either of you two without the other at any party, I honestly think it would be good for you two.” Devin said casually as he started to eat the fries that the waitress brought over.

Hmm..maybe a break from Tyler would be good for me?

“Hm yeah, well what do you think Mila?” Tyler asked while looking at me while his big green eyes.

“It couldn’t hurt to try..” I answered quietly. Part of me was intrigued and the other part of me was hurt that Tyler was even ok with this. Is he pushing me away?

We all stuffed our faces with the delicious diner food and got back on the road for the city.

We settled in to our hotel rooms and started to get ready for the night. I took out two outfits from my bag, a low cut black romper and a lilac coloured skater dress that had a sweetheart neckline and small straps.

“Which outfit do you think for tonight, Annie?” I asked holding them both up.

Annie was wearing a very sexy fitted red dress that complimented her shoulder length choppy auburn hair. She had one side of her hair pinned back and loose waves on the other side. She had just gotten done doing her makeup, black eyeliner on her eyes and matte red lipstick. She looked hot!

“Wear the dress tonight and you can wear the romper tomorrow night.” I wish I had Annie’s fashion sense sometimes, I always dressed more comfortably than sexy.

I put on the dress and sat down so Annie could do my hair and makeup. She styled my hair in loose wavy beach hair, my favourite, and she painted my eyes in a shimmery taupe, black eyeliner and a nude lipgloss for my full lips.

“Perfection!” Annie exclaimed as she kissed her fingertips. I slightly blushed at her remark.

“Would it look weird if I wore my black converses?” I asked as I put my shoes in front of me. Annie’s mouth fell open.

“I didn’t spend all that time on your face so you could ruin the whole look by wearing sneakers. Thank f**k I brought a few pairs of heels.” Annie answered sounding annoyed.

She threw a pair of nude coloured open toe heels at me and told me to put them on. I didn’t bother arguing with her at this point. Someone knocked at our door, maybe it was Tyler! I checked the peephole and saw Devin dressed in dark blue jeans and a black fitted t-shirt. I sighed, I wasn’t sure I wanted to be away from Tyler this weekend. This was going to be hard.

“What’s up Dev?” I said as I opened the door.

“Just came to chaperone two single ladies.” Devin said as he whistled at us.

“What do you mean, chaperone?” I asked with my eyebrows furrowed.

“Yeah, what the f**k? You don’t think we can take care of ourselves?” Annie spat while putting on her black heels.

Devin sighed. “We decided that Tyler and Will would go a party across campus and I’d take you girls at the pack house party. I promise, you girls are going to the better party. They’re wild!”

“They THOUGHT they were wild. They haven’t seen wild until tonight!” Annie said confidently.

“Alright, let’s go.” Devin said as he pushed us out the door.

The pack house was a 10 minute walk from our hotel, my toes were starting to pinch but thankfully we arrived at a huge modern building. It was mostly black with wooden accents. It was so magnificent.

As we were walking on the stone walkway, I started to feel butterflies in my stomach. My hands were involuntarily flexing by my side. I was nervous, but I had a weird feeling that something amazing would happen that night.

“Are you ok, Mila? Are you having second thoughts about being away from Ty?” Annie asked.

I didn’t have time to answer her, a very hulk like man with blond hair flew the door open and tackled Devin to the ground.

“That’s for sleeping with my sister!” The hulk shouted as they rolled on the front lawn.

I wasn’t too sure about this party anymore..
