Chapter 2

2205 Words
Victoria Damn it, Valentina! What the hell did she mean?! I tried calling out to her again, but she had put up a blocker. My damn wolf! “What’s up, Tori!” Lydia, who was our night hostess, exclaimed as she walked in from the back door. “Where’s Kat?” “Oh, look who’s here!” Ms. Ginger snickered. “Kat called out again,” “Again?!” she laughed. She went to her locker to get her apron, and to put her belongings away. “Let me guess, that b***h was hung over again, right?” “You know Kat, Miss party hardy!” I said, making us chuckle. “So, how was it today?” “It’s been pretty slow, not even during our lunch hour was it busy,” I answered. “Wow, really? It must be this shitty ass weather,” I nodded my head in agreement, and we walked to the front of the diner. As we walked past Trevor and his friends, it was taking every bit of me not to look at him. But, of course, Lydia noticed them, “Why, hello, handsome,” Lydia whispered as she gawked at them. “Look at them, Tor, just looking at them is making my p***y wet,” “Lydia, what the f**k?!” I shouted in shock, as she tried to hold in her laugh and pulled me toward the hostess podium. “Well, we don’t get to see those types of men often, so sue me if my mind wants to be nasty for a minute,” she glanced over to them and noticed that she was eyeing Trevor. “That one right there, with the green eyes, is what my mind is picturing naked,” I didn’t realize that a low growl left my throat. “What the f**k was that Tori?!” the horror look on her face didn’t go unnoticed. “Wh… what? Sorry, my throat is a bit dry,” I said, as I rubbed my throat. I’m sure they could hear our conversation even if we were speaking softly, because they were snickering, and Trevor was slightly smiling. The door suddenly swung open, startling both of us. A blonde-haired she-wolf stomped her way in, and before Lydia or myself could greet her, she already gave us an annoyed look, “I’m not here to eat, I’m looking for someone,” she said in a nasty tone and flipped her hair over her shoulder. “What a f*****g b***h!” Lydia said and scoffed. “Her fake boobs look uneven,” “Lydia, be nice,” she grunted and rolled her eyes. She stood in front of us with her hands on her hips, looked around the room, and it didn’t take long for her to spot who she was there for. “TREVOR!” she shouted. Any louder, my ears would’ve popped. She stomped her way to their table, and threw a tantrum like a child. She crossed her arms and pouted, demanding why Trevor hadn’t returned her calls all day. Even if they were speaking softly, I could still hear their conversation because of my wolf’s hearing. Lydia had lost all interest after saying she was not about to deal with a psycho chick like that if she ever got with the green-eyed guy. I walked back to the kitchen and I continued to listen to their conversation. “You’ve got to be kidding me! Why the f**k are you here, Gianna?!” Rocky sneered. “We see too much of you back at the pack house already, can’t you give us a f*****g break?” She glared at him and pushed him out of the way as she scooted herself next to Trevor. “I missed you, baby. You weren’t answering my calls and texts all day, and I got worried,” she said and leaned her head on his shoulder. He slightly moved his shoulder, and she took the hint. “Gianna, why the f**k are you here?! I told you I was going to be busy the whole day!” Trevor exclaimed. “Wait… how did you know we were going to be here?” “Oh… I… umm… I…” she looked uncomfortable at his question, but waved it off, “you know what, it doesn’t matter. I missed you all day, baby, I just needed to see you,” she scooted closer to him and wrapped her arms around his neck. “Did you miss me?” she was practically batting her eyelashes looking at him. Trevor didn’t respond but rather looked annoyed. And my lips immediately formed a small smile. “Order up!” Mike, our cook, shouted and dinged the bell. After getting their orders on my tray, I made my way to their table and served them their food. “Anything else I could get you guys?” I asked no one in particular. Gianna whipped her head towards me and frowned, “No, we’re good here. But before you go, this table needs to be sanitized and cleaned… and it’s a bit sticky,” she said and made a disgusting face. “Oh, is it? The table was fine earlier, these guys didn’t complain about it being sticky,” I replied, and she narrowed her eyes. “Well, it’s filthy! And do as I say, I’m a customer, and customers are always right!” she screeched. “Gianna, that’s enough!” Trevor growled and pinched the bridge of his nose. “You’re such an embarrassment everywhere you go! I don’t know how Trevor tolerates you!” Rocky said annoyingly and grunted. “Why are you even here?! GO HOME!” Sylvester agreed with Rocky and looked at Gianna like he wanted to throw her out himself. “Don’t talk to me like that! I'm your future Luna! Trevor, aren’t you going to say something?! Why do you let them speak to me this way!” she demanded. “You three, that’s enough!” Trevor said between gritted teeth. “And you, why are you still here?! Shouldn’t you be cleaning or waiting on someone else? You’re not worthy of being in our presence!” Gianna exclaimed and snickered. I usually wouldn’t let this type of behavior get to me, but this girl was something else, and that was enough to make Valentina come forward and snarl at her. My eyes turned black, she leaned close to Gianna’s face as her eyes widened like saucers, and she began trembling. “Listen here, you bimbo, I suggest you watch what you say. Even if my human is holding back from f*****g up that pretty little face of yours, believe me, I won’t. So, take that bitchy attitude with you somewhere else, because as far as I can see, your presence isn’t wanted here... and you… you are NOT worthy of being anyone’s Luna!” With that, Valentina retreated to the back of my mind. “You… you’re…--” she stuttered to say. “You can’t speak to me like that!” “Oh, you can bet your ass I am, and like what my wolf just said, take your bitchy attitude somewhere else,” I looked at the guys, and they looked amused. Even Trevor. I could have sworn he had lust in his eyes. He shook his head and blinked a few times before he turned away. “All right, that’s enough,” Ms. Ginger said as she walked up to the table. “I wanted to kindly let you all know that I have put up a cloaking barrier around the diner because of all the shouting and growling that you were all doing. Might I remind you, that there are humans in here too, so as of right now, they don’t see what we are seeing and hearing,” we all looked at her like she just grew three heads. “Don’t look at me like that,” she said and waved us off. “If you should know, yes, I am a light witch. Now, would you all so kindly stop this nonsense, and take it outside, or I would have to ask you all to leave.” “Sorry, Ms. Ginger,” I said, and lowered my head. “Yeah, we’re sorry, ma’am,” Sylvester apologized. “Wait, hold up… YOU’RE A f*****g WITCH?!” Gianna shouted. “Watch that tongue, young lady,” Ms. Ginger waved her finger at her, as her eyes glowed purple. Gianna scoffed but was too afraid to say anything else. “Please, if you don't all mind, I have a business to run, and I would like to drop the cloaking barrier,” We all nodded in understanding. Ms. Ginger and I walked to the kitchen, and I watched as she said a few words, dropping the cloaking barrier. I didn’t realize that Lydia and everyone else weren’t even aware of all that shouting and growling that was going on, considering Lydia loves drama. She would’ve been front and center, and probably eating a bucket of popcorn. Or better yet, she would’ve added her two-sense. But I was glad that Ms. Ginger did what she did. It would’ve been disastrous. Humans do not know that our kind exists, and we need to keep it that way. About twenty to thirty minutes later, I looked at the time and it was almost time for me to clock out. I can finally catch up on some rest before my shift at the club. I gathered my things and hung my apron on my locker. By this time, I figured Trevor and the rest of them had already left. I gathered my things and headed for the back door. “Tori?” I looked around cautiously but saw that it was Rocky and Sylvester. “Rocky? Sylvester? What are you guys still doing here?” I looked past them looking for a specific person, but he was nowhere in sight. “Trevor’s not here, he left with Gianna,” Rocky said as if he read my mind. “Oh… I… I wasn’t looking for him,” I lied. They both had a cheesy grin on their faces, “I’m sorry, were you guys waiting for me?” “Yeah, actually. So, there’s this party at our beach house this weekend, and we wanted to invite you,” Sylvester replied. I c****d an eyebrow at them, “And…?” they looked at each other and then back at me, “What do you mean, and?” Rocky answered. “I saw the way you all looked at each other when I mentioned the pack that my mother was from. Maybe this invitation has something to do with that?” “What? No, we just thought we’d invite you, you know, to get to know you a little more. As I said earlier in the diner, I like you, and no one even dares to speak to Trevor that way, so you have earned our respect,” he explained. “Right, earning your respect by disrespecting your Alpha?” I sarcastically said, making them freeze. “Oh, I know Trevor’s an Alpha, as I told him earlier, his aura was powerful. And let me guess, you’re the Beta?” I said and pointed to Rocky. “And you, you’re most likely the Gamma? Right?” Rocky and Sylvester began laughing. “Dude, this chick is good!” “So, I was right!” I exclaimed excitedly. “Damn, that’s impressive! But Sylvester here is not the Gamma, he’s actually the pack’s Head Guard and Warrior. He’s a high-level Omega who works closely with the rank members,” I formed an o shape with my mouth and nodded my head in amusement. “Why didn’t you go with Trevor? Doesn’t he need to be guarded at all times?” “Nah, he’s with Gianna, and she’s a pain in our asses. We wouldn’t want to be around her if we didn’t need to be. I mean, would you want to be around someone like that?” Sylvester scoffed. “But that’s pretty good, for someone who didn’t grow up in a pack, you sure do know a lot,” “Well, my mother told me the basics. You know, Alpah’s, Beta’s, Gamma’s… and how the Alphas should have guards with him whenever he steps away from the territory,” “In some cases, yes, but not necessarily,” “Oh,” “So, about this weekend? You’ll come?” Rocky asked once more. “I’ll think about it,” “Awesome, here’s the address to the beach house, and our phone numbers if you need anything before then,” “Sorry guys, I need to get home and get some rest before my shift at the club. I’ll reach out if I decide to come,” “You work at another job?!” they both exclaimed. “What club?” Oh, they were definitely being nosey. I smiled at both of them and, without saying any more, I waved goodbye and made my way to my car. “VICTORIA!” I froze on the spot. Oh, no. He’s here?
