Chapter 1: Welcome Back
Eriana “I feel like I’m stuck in an infinite loop,” I whined as I plopped down on the plush sofa in Gia’s office. I held my hands out for Ash to hand me my new little nephew and she gladly handed him over and shook her arms.  “Did you bring back the members who went missing last night?” Gia asked as she made dinner arrangements for all of us. I stared down at Oliver’s little face and I couldn’t help the smile that spread across my face.  “Yeah,” I replied as I cradled him over my own little bump. “It’s like every day I wake up with a new report of who’s missing and then I spend my whole day just walking around aimlessly until I walk into this stupid shadow realm.” It’d been the same process every day for the last three months. I’m tired and my feet hurt, carrying this little bean is taking a toll on my body. The differences between my pregnancy with Bria and this one are incredibly different. My little bean is growing so fast I hardly have any time to enjoy my pregnancy. I only have a month and a half left and I don’t know if I’m ready yet.  I’ve just got into the swing of being Luna again and we’ve finally got a good routine going for us and throwing a new baby into the mix is going to change everything. I sighed aloud as I thought about all of the new adjustments we’d have to make but I was quickly pulled out of my thoughts when a group of kids came hurtling through the door and over to Gia with Bria toddling right behind them.  “Hey, my babies!” Gia squealed as they all bombarded her with hugs and kisses. Gia wrapped them all in her arms and the kids began chattering away about their day.  Bria climbed onto the couch beside me, refusing any help from Ash or me. I watched her as she struggled to find a foothold but when she finally did, she hoisted herself onto the couch and gave me a satisfied smile.  I smiled back at her and she wrapped her little arms around me, pressing her ear to my growing belly before holding a full conversation with her younger sibling. This was her new daily routine and as much as I wanted to pretend I was her favorite person again, I knew she was only interested in the baby.  The closer we inched to her second birthday, the more peculiar her behavior became. We were so worried that we took her to see Dr. Tiffany, who assured us that she was completely normal for a half-witch toddler.  In all of our lives, we’ve never had children who weren’t humans or werewolves so this was new territory for us. It’s good to know that even after so many years we still had new things to look forward to.  We all spent the next hour or so just hanging out until I received a mind link from Tara, who’d become like my personal assistant.  I’m sorry to bother you, Luna, but Alpha Derion has formally requested your presence in his office.  She sounded so uncomfortable and it was even more amusing than having him send our code words through other people. I didn’t want to laugh in front of her, knowing she already knew she’d been used to deliver Derion’s sneaky link message.  You can inform Alpha Derion that his request has been granted and he can expect my arrival momentarily. Thank you, Tara.   I cut our mind link and laughed out loud causing everyone to look at me but I just shook my head and handed Oliver back to Ash who was curled up in the corner of the couch. She wrapped him in her arms as she dozed off, making sure to keep him protected.  I smiled internally as I thought about all of the dirty things I knew Derion had planned for us. I was already turned on and I hadn’t even spoken to him yet. Since he found out I was pregnant, he’s been even more insatiable than ever. I can barely exist in the same area with him without his hands roaming all over my body.  “Can y’all watch Bria for like thirty minutes? If not, I can call Lauren to come and watch her,” I said as I pulled out my phone.  “It’s fine, we’ll watch her,” Gia said, giving me a knowing look as Kailey and Nova went to join Bria on the couch, drawing her attention from me leaving. I slipped out of Gia’s office and made my way up the stairs to Derion’s office. I knocked on his door and I felt my heart pounding and my palms began to sweat.  “Enter,” Derion’s voice boomed from the other side. I wiped my hand down my jeans and opened the door slowly and slipped inside, closing the door behind me softly. The blinds were pulled together and the lights were so low it took my eyes a second to adjust to the darkness.  “You requested my presence, Alpha Derion?” I called out into the darkness before I could see him fully. He stood in front of his desk as bare as the day he was born and I felt my mouth water at the sight of his manhood standing at attention in front of me. It took every bit of self-control I could muster to not swallow him up.  “Yes, Luna Eriana,” he said as he ran his hand up and down his d**k. I instinctively licked my lips and walked over to him, slowly. I felt his eyes on me the entire time so I made sure to give him a show in the process. I stood in front of him just as bare and I ran my fingertips up his thigh before  “I need you in handcuffs, blindfold, and bent over my desk. Now,” he said as he softly ran his hand through my curls before jerking my head back, forcing me to look at him. A moan slipped from my lips as he ran his tongue up my neck and I was putty in his hands.  “Yes, Alpha,” I said breathlessly. He released me and stepped away from his desk, revealing a myriad of items for me to choose from. I selected a silk scarf and a pair of fluffy hands and presented them to Derion for his approval. He took the handcuffs and cuffed my hands behind my back before depriving me of my eyesight and bending me over his desk, careful to protect my little baby bump.  “Mm, I will never get tired of seeing this pretty ass p***y,” Derion said as he ran his fingers through my lips, sending sparks and chills up my spine. I felt the warmth of his breath against my core and I stood there impatiently as he inhaled my scent. I wanted to complain and throw a tantrum, but I knew that wouldn’t make him move any faster.  I stood there, dripping in anticipation and begging silently for him to do something… anything to extinguish the fire burning inside of me for him. Finally, I felt his hands creeping up and around my thighs and his tongue pressing against me and I knew this would be the best one yet.  After we were both satisfied and drained of every orgasm we could muster, I laid on top of him on the couch as he played in my hair.  “How was your day, Sunshine?” he asked as he began to massage my hair. I could feel the rumble of his deep voice in his chest and it brought me comfort like nothing else. “Tiring,” I said with a yawn. “It’s like Groundhog’s Day, honestly. I’ve been reliving the same day over and over for the last three months. I’m sure I’ve walked a thousand miles this month alone. There’s got to be an easier way to do this.”  He continued to play in my hair as I vented all of my complaints about the day. I didn’t have many but he was patient and listened to everything, never interrupting.  “Gia made dinner reservations for us all and the kids are here,” I said as I moved to sit up. After laying down for so long my belly began to churn and I knew I’d be blowing chunks soon if I didn’t get some ginger tea in me soon.  “Okay, what time and where are we going?” He asked as he repositioned himself behind me so he could rub my stomach and bury his face in my hair.  “Oh, I don’t know. I didn’t ask before I left. I’m sure she’s probably texted one of us with the details,” I said with a shrug. “How was your day though?” He grunted in response and I felt him shrug against me. I laid my head back on his shoulder so I could look at him but he seemed determined to stay where he was. I could feel his anxiety and frustration peaking out of nowhere.  “What’s wrong?” I asked as I rubbed my thumb across his knuckles.  “It’s nothing, baby. Do you need some tea?” He asked, trying to change the subject.  “Yeah, I do, but don’t change the subject. What’s wrong?” I asked again.  “Seriously, Sunshine. It’s nothing I can’t handle with you by my side,” he said as he placed a gentle kiss against my jawline.  His words were calm but his body was on high alert and that didn’t sit right with me. What is he hiding and why?  “Derion…,” I started but a light knock on the door interrupted me. I could practically smell the ginger and honey wafting through the door. “It’s your tea,” he said as he slipped from behind me, kissing me on my cheek before opening the door briefly and walking back to me with a hot cup of tea and some ginger candy.  “Thank you, baby,” I said with a smile as he carefully handed me my mug and sat back down beside me.  “How’s my son? Is he giving you any trouble today other than nausea?” Derion asked as he tucked a curl behind my ear.  “Mm, well, your daughter has been wildly active today. Other than that, she’s been a perfect angel. This pregnancy is going by fast but it’s not terrible if I’m being honest,” I said before taking a few sips of my tea and leaning into his arm.  “I don’t know why you do this, we both know we’re having a boy,” Derion said with a confident smile. I scoffed and rolled my eyes at him. This is exactly why I do this because of his cocky know-it-all attitude.  “We don’t know anything until the doctor's appointment next week,” I replied. He just continued to smile at me and as much as I didn't want to admit it, I knew it was a boy too but I couldn't let him have the satisfaction.  "Sure, babe," he replied before getting up to get dressed. I sat back on the couch and watched him as he pulled on his slacks, then his shirt, his muscles flexing as he buttoned his shirt. I sighed as I felt my little bean move around restlessly reminding me that it was time to eat.  "Can you check your phone to see if anyone has texted you about dinner? Your pup is moving around as if I'm starving her or something," I said with an exasperated sigh. He pulled his phone out of his drawer and scrolled for a second, reading whatever was on the screen.  "Yeah, I guess we're going to the new restaurant in sector four?" He said as he scratched his head. "Oh, yeah, Sylvia and Marie's new place? It's like a Dave & Buster's! I think the kids will enjoy it. Ash is going to bring some of her younger cousins for Kailey and Nova to play with so they can socialize," I replied excitedly.  "I don't even know who Sylvia and Marie are, but that sounds cool. I just hope they don't take a long time to serve the food. Do you want a snack before we go? Do you want to change into something more comfortable or are you fine with the clothes you had on?"  "Sylvia and Marie have been here for like thirty years, Derion. How do you not know them?" "Babe, there are like fifteen hundred people in this pack, I can't know everyone. Do you want a snack or no?" He asked as he opened up his mini-fridge, pulling out some of my favorite fruit.  "Yes, please," I said with a bright smile. I quickly ate my fruit and guzzled down my water before getting dressed.  "What time are we supposed to be leaving?" I asked Derion as he tied my shoes for me.  "In like ten minutes, so if you want to change, let me know now," he said as he looked up at me.  "No, this is fine," I responded as I ran my hand over my bump. He'd settled down for a little bit but I knew if I didn't get any food in me soon then I would turn into a monster.  After making it to the new restaurant all of the kids went off to play their various games with each other. Kailey and Nova fit right in with the other kids and they were all instant friends. Gia and Orion volunteered to go off with the smaller kids, leaving me and Derion at the table with Ash and Anthony.  We all sat around and chatted while we waited for our food to be served. I was more than ready to sink my teeth into the bacon cheeseburger I ordered. I was grateful that the service was quick but it was honestly because of who we were more than anything. Being a ranked member definitely had its perks. After a long fun night of playing games and eating some good food, we all loaded back up in our vehicles and headed back to the packhouse. Everything was moving smoothly until I felt a sense of terror creep up my spine and everything around us went dark like all of the light in the world had been snuffed out.  Ba Pef was back.
