standing there thinking about the biggest mistake of my life that I may have just made... no other thoughts came clearly to me, all I could think about was the very first time I had seen the man some days back. the very first time I met Prince Tristane of Belfaire and looked into his clear blue eyes that looked so sweet and gentle.. I had been terrible mistaken about him that day His eyes had deceived me.. It had been just a few days back, but I remembered it like it had just happened .... ***few days ago Royal Palace, Kingdom of Mari He was the most terrifying man of all men, he had fangs that threatened to rip through you when he spoke, he had scars all over his body from the many wars he had fought in, he was cunning, he was ruthless, he was 8 feet tall and built like a bear and he never ever smiled at anyone for any reason. Those were the rumors I had heard about Prince Tristane and I was about to meet him for the first time and confirm what was true and what was not. All the rumors and stories about the man said he was more of a beast than a man and yet I was standing here dressed in a stunning gown with my hair tied into a knot waiting to be introduced to the monster of a man my father expected me to marry. He was the King and he was my father, he had explained to me that getting married to this stranger named Prince Tristane would ensure an alliance between our rival kingdoms and keep our people safe from harm and war for many years, those were the only reasons I was standing here waiting for our guest who had already arrived. My Father was next to me standing tall and looking like a King even in his old age and with all the grey color now in his hair. My brother Arden was standing next to my Father and unlike my father, he had his armor on and had an angry look on his face. He once told me that the only man he feared was the Prince of Belfaire and he clearly hated the man for some reasons so looking at his face now I could tell that he was greatly displeased by the arranged marriage that my Father was trying to work out for me and the man he hated so much. He hated the thought of me marrying the man but could not go against our father, he was the Prince of Mari and a knight of Mari as well, it was his duty to respect and obey the King of Mari even though the old man was our father. In no time I got lost in thoughts of how the Prince of Belfaire would be and what he would look like. He was to be my husband sooner or later so as I stood there waiting for his entrance, I wondered what color his eyes would be, what his voice would sound like, the sort of things he liked and most importantly, I wondered if it was actually true that he could turn into a wolf at will which was why he had been allowed to rule over both the human population of his kingdom and the werewolf population as king and Alpha at the same time. He was a King but he was only ever referred to as a Prince which was weird, they were a lot of strange things about the man and the more I was thinking, the more I was realizing that I felt some excitement about meeting the man. I was still lost in thought when my father placed his hand on my back and brought me back to reality, he spoke in his usually calm voice. “This man will be your future husband Raya, I know how hard it is for you to be nice to strangers, but please try, for the sake of peace and the safety of our people.” He said looking into my eyes. He knew me well and knew the alliance would never work if I didn’t want it. It was clear to me already that I was not ready for marriage, but for my father’s peace of mind, I was ready to at least try. I smiled back at him and gave him a reassuring nod. We stood there in the royal court room waiting for the Wolf-Prince to walk in through the doors. We heard the single but long blast of a trumpet that signaled his arrival and the large doors were swung open quickly by two palace guards. I heard the footsteps approaching, slowly but steadily and then I looked up at the stranger who stepped in through the doors with armed guards following closely behind him. In that moment, I was lost, I was confused, I was…. speechless. Was he the man I was to marry and was he the same man I had heard all those bad things about? It could not be him I thought to myself as I felt my heartbeat begin to slow and felt that unmistakable heat between my thighs and the blood rushing to my face. He was obviously not like any normal man; he was beyond merely handsome. He was the most beautiful man in armor I had ever seen which was shocking because I had spent all my life meeting men in armor as a Princess of a great kingdom. I watched him closely and noticed he caught my father’s gaze as soon as he walked into the room and held it while he slowly walked towards us. He had a slow and languid way of moving that made him seem like someone who did not care about anything, he had long silver hair that touched his shoulders and tossed around in the air with every new step he took, he had on a beautiful silver armor and had his sword by his side. I could not yet tell the color of his eyes because of the distance still between us and because he had only been looking into my father’s eyes the entire time he approached us, as though he was completely focused on him and not at all interested in me or my brother. He took his time and walked towards us at his own pace and in a slow and silent manner like that of a predator. He took his time to reach us but he was soon standing before my father and still had that serious look in his eyes. I could see his eyes now and they were as stunning as his face, he had the bluest set of eyes I had seen before. He brought his hand forward and so did my father as they shared a firm handshake. “I hope you did not have to wait long for me King Julian, one of my men fell sick on the road so we had to ride at a slow pace for half a day.” He said explaining why he had arrived much later than we had expected while still looking at only my father and ignoring my brother and myself. “I am just glad you accepted my proposal and trusted me enough to ride here yourself. We can finally get on with our plans of a marriage alliance and give our people peace for many years to come.” My father said smiling at the much younger Prince of Belfaire, Tristane gave a slight nod but didn’t smile back and showed no emotions on his face. I was not going to just stand there and let him ignore me, especially not when I could not stop staring at him. I was the one he planned to get married to, not my father. “It is nice to finally meet you Prince Tristane, I look forward to getting to know you better during this visit” I said as calmly as I could while turning to face the man. I had finally gotten his attention as he turned to face me too and in that moment our eyes locked and I knew for certain that though I had never met the man before and was not ready to marry a complete stranger, I would not mind spending a night with him or letting him do those things to me that no one else in the kingdom would ever dream of doing to a royal Princess. I stood there surprised by how wildly my body reacted to just locking eyes with the man and how quickly my mind had moved, it was then I noticed the smile on his face. I looked at him and saw that in that very moment he was holding back a laugh as though he could read my mind and knew exactly what crazy things I was thinking which got me even more flustered. The smile was gone almost immediately and he looked cold and uninterested again as he covered the distance between us, I could swear that I saw him smile earlier but now all I could see was his tall body in front of mine, his blue eyes staring into mine as he took my right hand in his and planting a soft kiss on my knuckles that almost made me drop to my knees. I was barely able to think anymore. “You must be the beautiful Princess Raya I heard so much about, even in my kingdom there are stories of your beauty and now I can see that they are all true. I also look forward to spending days and nights with you.” He said in a low voice that sounded almost like a growl and sent shivers down me. He held my hand in his for a few more seconds before letting them go gently, he gave me a quick smile before turning to face my father again. That was the first time I met the Wolf-prince of Belfaire and in just that minute we spoke, I knew there was something dangerous about the man.... . . There was no way I could stop myself from feeling those things he had stirred up in me by just looking at me, I was completely and totally attracted to a complete stranger and I knew it. He walked away from me with my father beside him as they spoke about their kingdoms, wars and people. He got to the door at the end of the room and turned to look at me one last time before he moved into a private room to discuss the alliance with my father, our eyes locked again and as my heart began to race and he nodded at me before stepping out I could tell that Prince Tristane knew exactly what he was doing to me and he was enjoying it.
