Chapter 2

Mavi Pov

A strong slap on my face was given to me by my father as we arrived at home. I was shocked and couldn’t believe that he hit me. I never expected him to lay a hand on me because I was his favorite daughter since young.

“You are a disgrace to our family, Mavi! You embarrassed me in front of the alphas from different packs!” shouted my father in a furious voice.

“What else do you expect from her, Dad? She must have talked to Alpha Magnus to reject her in the sacred moonlight ceremony, leaving you with no choice but to accept Edward as her chosen mate,” taunted my only sibling, Mayer.

Ever since we were children, Mayer and I never got along. We were like oil and water, unable to be mixed, and became like cats and dogs whenever we were together. But it wasn’t always me who started the fight but her. I don’t know what her reason is or why she seems so resentful towards me, even though we are real siblings.

“Although I was happy that Alpha Magnus rejected me as his destined mate, I wasn’t happy at all that our father was humiliated in front of the alphas. And most of all, I didn’t even get a chance to talk to Alpha Magnus and asked him to reject me as his destined mate because I just saw him in the ceremony. And I don’t even know how he looks like,” I defended myself after she gave me a disgusted look.

“That’s enough! Both of you stop!” our father angrily scolded us, and then he gave me a piercing stare. “Since childhood, I’ve pampered you, spoiled you, Mavi. But I never imagined that because of you, I would experience such humiliation. You want to be with your chosen mate, right? Go ahead. Leave my house, our pack, and never come back,” he said firmly.

I was speechless for a moment and simply stared at my father’s face. I tried to analyze if he was serious or if it was a moment of anger. I am his favorite child, but here he is, kicking me out of our own house.

“But I think it’s not just my fault why Alpha Magnus rejected me, Dad. Do you remember when he said he rejected me because he despised me and our family? Maybe our family has done something wrong to him that has fueled such intense anger in him, to the point where he defies even the wishes of the moon goddess.” My father’s gaze only grew sharper upon hearing what I said.

“He thinks I killed his parents, that’s why he harbors such immense anger towards our family,” my father admitted, revealing the reason why Alpha Magnus is so angry with us. “But if you pleaded with him earlier, if you begged him not to involve you in his anger towards me, our pack wouldn’t have been tarnished with shame, Mavi. And because of what you did, my position as the alpha of the White Moon Pack is now at risk. Surely, those who want to replace me as alpha will take advantage of what happened. That’s why I have no choice but to kick you out of my house to show them that I am a strong Alpha. That I am capable of punishing anyone, even my own family if they bring shame to our pack. Through this, they won’t be able to find a way to replace me as alpha,” my father explained at length.

I suddenly felt a tightness in my chest upon hearing this. The father I thought loved me unconditionally was willing to disown me just to hold onto his beloved title as the Alpha of the White Moon Pack.

“What else are you waiting for, Mavi? Leave this house right now!” Mayer shouted at me, driving me away, as if we are not siblings.

I could no longer hold back my tears. The pain in my heart was unbearable. With a heavy heart, I walked out of the house. I didn’t even attempt to plead with my father not to kick me out because I knew he wouldn’t change his mind. I knew him well. Once he said something, he would never take it back. So, what’s the point of my plea if he won’t listen?

Crying, I got into my car and drove away from the house I lived in for eighteen years. I’m just thankful that Dad didn’t take back the car he gifted me last month for my debut.

In this situation, only Edward and Santa are the people I want to talk to. They are the ones who always give me strength. But Santa is not here because she’s on vacation in another country, so Edward is the only person I can talk to and vent out the frustrations I feel right now.

I entered Edward’s condominium building while crying and walked to his unit. When I arrived in front of his door, I didn’t press the doorbell. I already knew the password to his unit so I didn’t need to ring the doorbell. Just as I was about to enter the numbers, I noticed that the door was slightly open, it was blocked by something dark.

I wiped away my tears before I picked up the object blocking the door. My forehead furrowed when I saw that it was a woman’s shoes that caused the door not to close completely.

“I wonder whose shoes these are. Why are they here, blocking the door?” I asked myself. In response to my question, I heard two voices, both sounding out of breath and moaning.

“Faster, Edward. Make it faster,” I heard the woman’s voice say while talking to my boyfriend.

“Of course. I will make it faster, babe,” Edward replied. Then, all I heard were their moans. Moans that seemed to indicate they were enjoying whatever they were doing. I didn’t need to guess anymore what they were doing because it was evident from their moans that they were in the middle of s****l intercourse.

I covered my mouth with my hands when I recognized the owner of that voice talking to Edward. It was none other than my cousin and also my best friend, Santa. Filled with anger, I opened the door and slammed it shut loudly.

y heart nearly shattered at the scene my eyes witnessed. The two people who were important to me were betraying me. They were both naked on top of the sofa and doing the things that I never did with Edward before.
