The Vampire King and his Hybrid Queen

CHAPTER 2: AURORA

Present time

Aurora POV

My name is Aurora Burns. I am 17 years old and in two days I will be 18. I am the future Queen of the Werewolves. I will take over the position as Queen from my dad, Alpha King Damien Burns, when I turn 21. I am also the first Queen Female Alpha Wolf to be born in over 600 years. My parents are planning a party for me at the packhouse on Saturday, I am so excited about my party but that is not the only thing that I am excited about. I will be getting my wolf tomorrow night at midnight and I will also shift for the first time. And therefore I will be able to find my mate as well. Other then the members of Dark Moon pack and the Kings and Queens of the other Kingdoms, nobody else knows what I look like.

“So what do you think of this one?” My best friend Cassandra asks me. She shows me a picture of a blue dress on her phone. “This one looks nice but I prefer the red one.” I reply. She then looks at the picture. She is looking for a dress to wear to my party on Saturday. “Honestly Cassie, I don’t care what you wear, just as long as you are there.” I tell her and she gives me a hug. We are at school and we are sitting outside the rugby field having lunch. We are waiting for our other best friend Sadie to return.

Cassandra is the daughter of our Betas, Kade and Becky Jackson and Sadie is the daughter of our Gammas, Jared and Sophie Salvatore. Cassandra is a vampire and werewolf hybrid like Aunt Becky and Sadie is a werewolf and witch hybrid because Aunt Sophie is a witch and Uncle Jared is a werewolf. They will get their wolves in a few months when they both turn 18. Cassandra already has her vampire side and Sadie can already do powerful spells because she was trained by her mother and her grandmother.

“You are so lucky that you get to shift first.” Cassandra says. “Do you think that your mate will be from this pack?” She asks me just as Sadie joins us. “Hey guys. Whats up?” Sadie greets us as she sits down next to me. “Nothing much. I just asked Aurora what kind dress she would like me to wear to her party.” Cassandra says. “Okay so which one did you pick?” Sadie asks me. “I told her the red one will look nice on her but as always she likes the other dress. Cassandra is just like Aunt Becky when it comes to fashion. They always asks the opinions of others on the type of dresses that they should wear to any occasions but they end up choosing the other options.

“I also told her that she is lucky that she will shift before us and I asked her if she thinks if her mate will be from this pack.” Cassandra says. The girls both look at me. “I don’t know guys. I guess we will have to wait and see if he is from here.” I tell them. There is only one person in this whole world that I wish is my mate and his name is Cassius Black. The King of the Vampires. For as long as I can remember Cassius has always been around and I have been in love with him since I was 14 years old. He doesn’t know that.

“Hot vampire alert.” Cassandra says. I look around to see who she is talking about but I only see Cornelius approaching us. “Good afternoon Princess Aurora, Cassandra and Sadie.” He says as he looks at each one of us. He smiles as he looks at Sadie. Sadie blushes at him and his chuckles at her. I think they have a crush on each other. Cornelius always acts like that whenever Sadie is around. “Princess Aurora, King Cassius has asked me to inform you that he will pick you up after school. So I will take my leave but Reginald and the other guards will still be around in case you need them.” Cornelius says to me but he still looking at Sadie.

I am very excited now because Cassius will be picking me up after school today.  Cassius sometimes comes and picks me up from school and then wew ould go have coffee at the mall together. Luckily now we don’t have to keep this secret from my dad anymore since he found out two weeks ago. He was mad at first but I managed to calm him down a bit. Mom and Dad have always been protective of me, that is why I always have bodyguards around me.

”Thank you Cornelius. Have a nice day.” I reply. “You girls enjoy your day as well.” He says and then he leaves us.

“Have your parents told you why you have so many bodyguards around you?” Sadie asks me. “No clue. I asked them a couple of times but they said it was for my own protection.” I reply. I have never been anywhere outside of the pack. I was never allowed to leave by myself.  I have begged my parents to let me leave the pack and explore South Africa and the world a bit, but they have always refused. Even Cassius was on their side on this.

The bell ring and the girls and I get up to go to our next classes. Sadie and I have maths now whilst Cassandra has accounting. “Ugh. I hate this subject.” Cassandra says as we walk into the school. “So why are you taking it?” Sadie asks her. “Dad wants me to. He wants me to be an accountant or something.” Cassandra says. “So tell him that you hate it.” I tell her. “I did but he is not budging. He knows I want to be a fashion designer like Mom.” She says just as we approach her classroom. “I will see you guys in biology.” She says as she enter her classroom. Sadie and I then head towards our classroom.

After school the girls and I are in the parking lot talking while Reginald and the other guards are standing not too far away from us. “Look. Here comes your boyfriend.” Cassandra says as she motions her head to the right. I turn around and I see that Cassius is approaching us and my breath hitches in my throat. He is absolutely handsome as always. “He is not my boyfriend.” I say. At least for now he isn’t, I think to myself as  I take a good look at him. He is wearing a white t-shirt with black pants and sneakers. I call it his signature look because he always dresses in those two colours.

“hey there little munchkin. Hey girls.” Cassius says as he gives me a hug. “Hello King Cassius.” The girls reply. “Hey Cass. I told you to stop calling me that.” I say as I give him a hug back and I have to stop the urge to kiss him. Damn he smells incredible! “Nah. I think it suits you.” He teases me. Cassius told me that he has been calling me that since I smacked some cake all over his face at my parents wedding. There was even a picture taken at the same time that I smacked him with cake. I have it in one of my photo albums that he got me for my birthday one year.

“Are you ready to go?” Cassius asks as he looks at me with those beautiful golden eyes. I swear I could get lost in them. “Yes. I will see you guys at training.” I say to the girls as I hook my arm into Cassius’s arm. “Bye.” The girls say in unison. Cassius leads me to his car. I hear kissing sounds behind me and I look over my shoulders towards the girls, just to see them puckering their lips together and making kissing sounds. I then show them my middlefinger and they burst out laughing. Bitches!

Cassius opens the car door for me and I get in. He gets in the driver’s seat and starts the car. We drive out of the school’s parking lot. He then asks me how my day was. We talk about random things but I am having a hard time concentrating because I keep thinking of how his lips will feel on mine. I keep wondering how it will be when we kiss. He then drives past the pack’s shopping mall where we usually have coffee at the coffee shop there. “Where are we going?” I ask him.

“It is a surprise.” He says as he smiles at me. We drive deep into the woods and he stops the car. “We have to walk the rest of the way.” Cassius says and he gets out of the car. He walks around the car and he opens the door for me. I get out and Cassius locks the door. He then gets out a picnic basket from the trunk of the car. He holds his hand out to me and I take it. The moment his skin touches mine, I can feel the warmth coming from his touch and it makes my panties wet. I can’t help but think about his hands roaming my body while he kisses the hell out of me. He leads me up the trail until we come to a clearing where the lake is.

“The girls and I love to come here.” I say as I take a look around. “I know.” He replies as he takes out a blanket from the basket and he sits it down on the ground. I look at him and then I remember that some of his men are my bodyguards. He starts packing out the drinks and lunch boxes that is in the basket. I help him to set everything up. Soon we are eating the sandwiches and drinking the juice that he has packed.

“are you excited to shift for the first time tomorrow night?” Cassius asks me. “Hell yes. I am a bit scared but I know my parents and the girls will be there to support me.” I say. “I will be there too.” Cassius says as he picks up some berries and holds them towards my mouth. I take them from his fingers with my lips and I notice the look in his eyes.

“You will?” I ask him. “Yes. I would not miss that for the world.” He says as he takes grapes this time and he holds it out to me. I take them the same way that I took the berries. With my lips. I see that look again in his eyes. Lust maybe. But he manages to hold himself back again. It makes my heart beat faster and then I do something that I thought I would never do.

I kiss him. Hard.

And I must say this. It is the best feeling I have ever felt. To have his lips on mine.

Cassius is surprised at my sudden reaction but he soon gives into it. He kisses me back. Fiercely. After a few minutes of us kissing, Cassius lays me down on my back. He smashes his lips on mine. I can feel him getting hard. We kiss for a few more minutes and then he stops when his phone rings. “I have always wanted to do that.” Cassius says as he takes out his phone from his pockets while not taking his eyes of me. I smile at him.

We had to stop eventually because he is not allowed to have s*x with me because I am still under 18. It is the supernatural law and we both know that. Cassius answers the phone. “This better be important.” He says to the person on the other side of the phone. “What? Now? …. Okay. I will be there soon.” He says. He puts the phone down and slides it back into his pockets. “Sorry sweetheart but we will have to end this now because something has come up.” He says as he gets back up. He holds out his hand towards me to help me up. I get back on my two feet.

“That’s okay. I know the kingdom needs you.” I say as we pack up the basket. He takes my hand again and leads me back to where the car is. “Yes but I wanted to spend the afternoon with you.” He says. He sounds a bit disappointed now. “I am sure we will get to do that again soon.” I say and he looks at me. “Definitely.” He replies. We reach the car and he puts the basket back into the trunk. He unlocks the door and opens it for me again. I then climb in and he gets into the driver’s seat, starting the car and we drive back to  the packhouse.

I look at him again. “I don’t regret kissing you back there. It was awesome.” I say to him. He looks at me with a huge smile on his face. “Neither do I. I loved feeling your lips on mine.” He replies. He stops in front of the packhouse and luckily no one is around. He leans over to me and kisses my lips again.

“Cassius why does this feel so right? I mean why do I feel so comfortable around you?” I ask him as he pulls away. He looks down at his hands for a moment and then he looks me in my eyes again. “You will know why soon. Right now you have to get to training before your dad kills me for bringing you back late.” He says. “You asked my dad if you could take me out on a picnic date?” I ask.

“No I didn’t ask him. I demanded him to let me take you out today. But he made me promise him that I will have you back here for training.” He replies and I nod. My dad would never let me out of his sight for long. “I will see you later then. Bye Cass.” I say as I get out of the car. “Bye my little munchkin.” He says, making me blush. Cassius drives off and I wait until he around the corner before I turn around and head into the packhouse.

I see my brother, Alexander, walking out of the kitchen as I walk into the foyer. “I have been looking for you everywhere. Where the hell were you? We are going to be late for training and I don’t want to be late again like last time.” Alex says. “Sorry I was out.” I reply as I start climbing the stairs.

“Yeah I know. You were out with King Cassius. Dad told me.” He retorts. I stop and turn around to look at him. “Yeah and it was the best date yet.” I say to him in a sarcastic manner. “Just tell Dad that I am back and I will be there shortly. I just have to get ready first.” I say as I turn around and I continue walking up the stairs to my room.

I throw my backpack next to my bed and then I slump down on my king-size bed, thinking about the afternoon I had with Cassius.

I close my eyes and I think about his beautiful golden eyes staring straight at me.
