Chapter 3

1032 Words
After handing the file 37, nothing follows. She was bored and lunch is still two hours away. Is this intentional? Angela is now curious about how the previous secretaries gave up their job. Is he boring them out just like now because she is pretty sure if it's like this for weeks, will be going crazy? She was tempted to watch some shows on the television but it is just her first day, and she feels it is not right. Nothing to do in mind, she started to clean her office even if she saw it clean. Am I allowed to rearrange these things, I wanted to be? She chose not to rearrange them, maybe a month from now if she can survive. One more hour to go for lunch and her Skype pings, making her a bit excited. Maybe it's him but it was Sandra, who added her as a new contact. She accepted her request immediately. Hi! Sandra, you did not tell me, it is boring right here, nothing to do! Angela messaged Sandra. Hi! Angela, that's because it is your first day. Tomorrow and the next, expect it to be different. Sandra replied. Hope so. Angela replied. She was used in multitasking, and she was dreading to do more works. Just enjoy today, okay? Because I promise you, we can't chat like this next time! Sandra assured her. Okay :) Angela agreed. By the way, any plan this lunch? I'll be glad to be with you. Sandra changed the topic. I'm thankful you said that. See you! Her last chat with Sandra. They ended their little chat and her Skype pings again, this time it is Adam Green. Be ready, after lunch we have a meeting with our client. His message. Noted sir. Angela's prompt reply and readied herself for the lunch break. - The Green building has its own cafeteria on the seventh floor with a lot of good food. They immediately have their food served since they arrived early. The place is not yet crowded that they can choose the best spot to eat. "So, how's your day so far, Angela?" Sandra initiated the conversation. "I already told you, it was boring. I only have one task so far for the whole morning." Her answer and sort of complained. "Like I told you, the next days will be different. Be ready and well-prepared. You will now know what is coming." Sandra told Angela with a sort of warning. "I will. By the way, how long have you work in the company?" Angela changed the topic. Later on, Angela learned that she is already working for 10 years in Green Enterprise. Angela is wondering and in awe that she stays for that long despite her boss’s attitude. "So, you know a lot about Adam?" She can't help but ask. "Yes, of course. He just took that position for three years now." She said. "Why is he like that?" She asked again. This time to know more about his boss’s attitude. "You know, he is good, I watched him grow.” Good? Maybe, only good to Sandra. Angela decided to it kept in herself. "Maybe, it's the responsibility that is changing him after his father died," Sandra added. Oh, I felt sorry for asking now. Of course, everybody has a reason but is it really reasonable to be mean? She did not voice out her thought, she just looked at Sandra. "I think, it’s not the best time to ask about him." Angela's comment. She decided not to judge him until she will know the true story. Sandra’s description of his boss as a good person marked on Angela’s mind. Angela did not any more ask Sandra about her boss and talked about some women’s stuff instead. She feels like she is another mother to her as she is already comfortable with her company. Angela should be on good terms with Sandra as she is the only person on the floor she can talk to. "Angela?" Someone called Angela stopping their conversation, and she looked for the person who just called her. She knew her very well. "Cam?" She called for her name gladly. As Angela recognized her, they both giggled and hugged each other. She can't believe her long known friend is also working in the same building as her. She introduced her to Sandra, and she took her seat with them. "You, what?" Cam was surprised by her position in the company. "I said, I'm the new secretary of Adam Green." But Cam still can't believe it. "Am I that unbelievable or the fact that I'm the new secretary of the company's CEO?" Angela stated. "You know, I'm hoping you can last. I'm happy knowing you are here, I can't wait for the weekend." Cam said with a mouth full. So, she also knew. "But you know, you are lucky that you are on the same floor with him," Cam said oblivious even if Sandra is with them. "You breathed the same air as him!" Cam added. "Cam stop that!" She was not surprised anymore with Cam's behavior, she is always like that. "Why should I? He is cocky, arrogant but strikingly handsome and..." Cam said and her words left hanging as she saw someone make her eyes bulge. Out of curiosity, Angela turned her head back, only to see the same person Cam was describing earlier. Adam Green. His aura changed with the light paint in the room, he is achingly handsome in the eyes. Why is he this good-looking that every female population in the room is looking at him? Well except Sandra as Angela noticed that Sandra is not looking his way. "Holy cow! Exactly what I just described!" Cam murmured still her mouth is full. Before Angela can turn her head back to her food, he caught her eyes staring at him, and then he smirked. She faced her food, embarrassed. "Did I see it, right? He is looking at me?" Cam asked but Angela was so sure that it was directed at her. Sandra just laughed at Cam's undeniable confidence.
