Chapter Three

(Jackson's Pov) After the bell rang we all made our way down to the gym. Kyle was still pissed at us but he'll get over it. Gym is the only class we all have together. We walked into the locker room and got dressed. When we went over to the bleachers I saw Storm was already there. Coach Ron came out of his office and over to us. He said that we could have some free time today since he didn't have any new units planned. "Great, wanna go play some football?" Nathan said. Kyle shook his head no and said "No, last time Michael hurt his ankle before the game and coach was pissed that he couldn't play. Let's just walk the track." Kyle said. We all agreed and started walking, Michael, Nathan, and Marcus in front while Kyle and I walked side by side behind them. I glanced at Kyle and saw he still looked mad. I sighed and ran a hand through my hair. "Look, I'm sorry for snapping back there but you really need to lay off." I said trying to apologize. He looked at me and rolled his eyes. "Gee, great apology. The only reason I'm not getting so pissed at you guys is because you can't see how stupid this is." Kyle said. "It's just a game and I could win $400 just for a little bet. You act like it's the end of the world!" I said. He shook his head at me and sighed. "That's just it, you guys think it's a little game but Storm wouldn't know that. He would actually think you liked him and you could really end up hurting him." Kyle said. "You act like I don't know this already." I said with a shrug. He looked at me like I was stupid. "Than why the hell would you agree to it?" He said starting to get angry again. Why did I agree to it? I did it for the $400, right? Yeah, I am doing it for the money. "Because I can win $400." I said and shrugged at him. He glared at me and shook his head. "Your an asshole." He said and stopped talking. I sighed and looked down at my feet. I looked around the track and saw Storm looking around. His eyes landed on us and Kyle smiled at him. Storm quickly looked down and I chuckled a little at him. Kyle punched me and glared at me again. "Ow! What was that for?!" I said holding my arm. "Don't laugh at him, your going to do enough to him already." Kyle said and speed walked away from us. Nathan turned around and looked at me. "What'd you say this time?" Nathan said. I rolled my eyes and shrugged. "Nothing, he's just overreacting." I said the last part loudly so Kyle would hear. Kyle turned around so he was walking backward and flipped us off. "Your being childish." I said. Kyle scoffed and crossed his arms. "Yeah, I'm being childish." Kyle said and turned back around. Coach Ron blew his whistle and yelled for us to go change. We ran into the locker room, changed, and I slammed my locker shut still pissed at Kyle. I saw everyone looking at me nervously. "WHAT?!" I yelled, causing everyone to jump and go back to doing what they were doing. Marcus chuckled and threw my bag at me. "Damn man, you need to calm down. You don't see Kyle taking your guys it the argument out on everyone else, do you?" Marcus said. "Shut up." I said and pushed past him. Why the hell am I acting like this? It's Kyle's fault! He's the one who keeps overreacting over something that's not even a big deal. I mean it's not like I'm going to actually hurt Storm. Why does he even care if I hurt him or not? It's not like their even friends. Oh god, I haven't even talked to Storm yet and this stupid bet already has me acting like this. I need to think this through. I walked into my Spanish class and sat down. I laid my head down on the desk and sighed. I need to calm down and clear my head. I started listening to the teacher talk in Spanish, not understanding a word of what she's saying. I ran a hand through my hair and mentally groaned. This is going to be a long 4 months.
