1491 Words
Ruby's week has been exhausting and entailing a butt load of studying, learning the ropes of her new job and actually attempting to do the job to her boss's exact expectations, but the whoever said that expectations hurt was really the wisest man because both Ruby and her boss were very disappointed and for different reasons. When she got the job they said that she was going to be a personal assistant and she went to the internet and just browsed a few things not because she wasn't qualified but to make sure she can actually deal with the entire working at the hugest company ever, she was looking over stress relieve routines and how to rest for five minutes a day because it had occurred to her that she will be working without rest and she was except this was not the personal assistance she thought she was ever going to offer. It was four am which meant it was time for her to wake up, she dreaded getting out of bed, her body hurt and so did her head and eyes but a job is job. She had a quick shower because most of her time is spent on her curly afro hair as it is natural. After twenty minutes of untangling and basing her hair she put it in the neatest bun that she could conjure because the hair is certainly stubborn then she put on her uniform at least that she got to pick and then headed to the master bedroom. She has seen this room more than she would like to admit in her life but every time she walked into it , it still just took her breath at how well it was decorated, dude really had a good taste. She went into his closet and picked him a darker shade of a gray suit, a white shirt, black tie, black belt and black shoes. she laid them out where he would grab them right after he took a shower, and then she went and woke him up,  "Mr. King it's time for work."  like he was rich and he went for a human clock instead of just a normal clock and if you thought self made billionaires slept pretty no, they do not. This guys bed was a mess each and every day, he slept like he was in a forest-no wonder he is single and he was a very deep sleeper. Ruby took one of the pillows as he refused to wake up and hit him in the head with it seven times, the five other times were unnecessary. "Ruby what the hell was that?"  he asked looking grumpy and little upset  "you asked me to do whatever was necessary for me to make sure you woke on schedule."  Ruby answered with confidence after all this is how you wake up stubborn people who also happen to be a**holes once they have woken up. Silas was about to say something else but Ruby cur him off by saying  "Sir you are already five minutes late for your shower."  he had a tight schedule and he liked to follow it to no fault, that's when he jumped quickly right out of bed and headed for the shower. Ruby looked at the time and patted herself for making him five minutes earlier for his shower. She went to the kitchen and found the chef  "so what am I making today Ms. Ruby?" she thought about it long and hard and then said the first thing that came to her mind  "chop some tropical fruits for today's side, he will be having the cranberry juice and for the main dish please do some slices of toast-extra crispy, some butter and Jam and put in your little mix."  she was going to go for normal breakfast but Mr. King hated oily food which meant no bacon most of the times, he hated unbalanced food which meant no cereals too. I mean yeah he was old but who doesn't enjoy a bowl of cereal a couple of times in a month? Prick!  Ruby thought to herself. She set the mini table that Silas and her eat at each and every morning, she picked something light for him to read today instead of a newspaper, she chose a motivational book a and then waited for him and the food to be served. He came down looking gorgeous as hell but Ruby would never admit that to herself or anyone, the suit just made him look really really hot and commanding which was what she was going for.  "Don't you think this suit is too much?"  Silas asked her as soon he took a seat on his chair and Ruby thought if I ignore him and just keep on being busy then he would definitely pick up his book and shut it. But boy was she wrong  "Ms. Scotts I asked a question?"  she face palmed herself inside her head  "well I chose it according to your schedule today."  she answered how come he was rich and didn't know that and of course his eyes were asking for an elaboration so she had to give one  "well today you have back to back meeting with your departments, so this suit shows that you are the boss but it's not loud which means, they do know you mean business but they are not trembling at your presence."  she explained and all he did was nod the entire time  "but I do want them to tremble at my presence."  Ruby rolled her eyes this guy was prick  "well also the chances of anyone actually wearing a gray suit today is slim to none because they will be all wearing black suits to show unity in their groups and that they are just workers who are there to work rather than impress people with their clothing."  he squinted his eyes as he dove into his thoughts about what she was saying and Ruby took that as an opportunity to just flee the scene. She came back with breakfast and they ate in silence not that she enjoyed it, Ruby was till used to her old life and there when it time for any meals it meant clear concentration on the food and company around you, but this big shot was clearly doing his own thing. After thirty minutes it was time to go, they walked to the door and she handed him his coat- he always carried one just in case and his bag  "have a nice day Mr. King"  he nodded and opened the door then he turned and said  "let's hope your reasoning about clothing is fact or we will have trouble."  Ruby smiled  "well fashion does have huge psychological impact on us sir."  and he left. Ruby cleared the table and went to the kitchen  "the food was delicious, Thank you."  she thanked him and he was still spooked every time she clearly lied and said Silas was the one who complimented his cooking. Of course she didn't overdo it she only did it whenever she asked the chef to put in his own mix, that boosted his confidence and he made better dishes. Her day was just about to start, she went upstairs and made his bed, opened some windows, cleared things that needed to be cleared, then she vacuumed as it the day for that, she also went to his study and cleaned it up. That place was the place that she always dreaded cleaning because Silas would always read books and leave them anywhere and everywhere, it got on her nerves. By the time she was done she went downstairs and everyone was already doing their work so she called Mr. Dune, her personal driver who prefers to be called Sam and she sent him to the dry cleaners.    After that it was time to go wake granny up, yes the only thing she could say that as much as it wasn't exciting but it was worth was taking care of Anne-Marie who is seventy years old and suffering from Dementia, she also had a tight schedule but it was flexible and she also had white shiny hair that Ruby just loved to brush, it reminded her of her own mother-The Queen of her heart. First things first was bath time, them meals and then pills form there they could practically do whatever they wanted as long as it was within Mr. Kings limits and boundaries. Anne-Marie liked eating mostly and doing puzzles on good days but on those bad days they were fighting ghosts and each other. Of course nobody knew what was going on because all the workers were banned from going anywhere near Anne-Marie's room and Silas's only Ruby had access to them and knew all the ins and outs of Anne-Marie's medical situation and that was why she was called the personal assistant.
