Chapter 3: Pete Anderson

" You did WHAT?" Jake shouted in the hallway, causing everyone to look towards them as they were watching a maniac. " Yeah, I guess you don't need a mic then. Wonderful," Aurora replied sarcastically. "Calm down, man," Alex said. " You are telling me to calm down? She is friends with a homicide now. And you are telling me to calm down? She will never be safe now. ALEX. Everyone knows that He is a psycho. His whole group is a psycho. And SHE is friends with him. Now, what? Will you eat lunch with them, Ora? Maybe stay with them at their house." Jake shouted. " Yeah, good idea Jake. I'll do that. I'll do all the things that you suggested. Thanks, JAKE." Ora replied angrily. "YOU WILL NOT TALK TO HIM. HE IS NOT YOUR FRIEND, AURORA. HE IS DANGEROUS. YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW HIM THAT WELL." Jake kept shouting at Aurora. " It's MY life, Jake. I can do whatever I want. I can be friends with whoever I want." Aurora shouted back at him. " Aurora, if you talk with him, I'll never forgive you," Jake said. "This is ridiculous. He is just a guy who studies here with us. We even haven't watched him do anything evil. Why all of you are afraid?" Aurora asked. " Aurora, I agree with him. You can't be friends with him. You are risking your life. We can't protect you every time, you know. It will be much harder because now you are his friend. He can do anything he wants with you." Henry said. " I'm friends with him. I'm not dating him." Aurora glared at them. " We didn't say that, Ora. We just want your safety, girl." Beth said. " I met his grandma yesterday. She seemed nice. I saw his real side, guys. He is nice. Trust me. He is nice, but he doesn't show this to anyone." Aurora said. " You met whom?" Jake asked calmly. " His grandma. She is so beautiful. She wore Pearls on her neck and ears. Her dress had pearls too. She loves Pearls and Water. Like Me." Ora said. " Oh. Then we should talk to him." Jake whispered." Talk to whom?" Aurora asked confusingly. They all looked at each other. "No one," Jake replied.

"Hey, Kids." Pete greeted. " Keep your greetings to yourself," Jake said. " So, May I ask why did you call us here? I thought you were scared of us." Pete said while he chuckled. " NO, we don't. We don't even know who and what you are. We just want Ora to be safe. So, Who the hell are you? And What do you want with Aurora?" Beth asked curiously. " Oh, Aurora is my friend. She's so beautiful. I like her." Pete said, which got him a punch from Jake. " Don't you say her name! Got that?" " Jake, Calm down," Alex said while trying to hold him back so He wouldn't do anything stupid. " Calm down, lover on a mission. I just said she was beautiful. I respect her, unlike you." Pete said. " What do you mean?" Henry asked. " You know, Underestimating her. You all know she is more powerful than all of us standing here." Pete reminded them. " But she is not aware of her powers. So, we should protect her." Henry said. " Like you were told to?" Pete asked. " Wait, How did you know about her having powers? And how did you know that we were said to protect her?" Jake asked, realizing Pete is not he thinks he is. He is hiding something, his identity. " Who are you?" Jake asked. "I am the QUEEN OF OCEAN'S grandson," Pete announced. "You...you... are... Pearlish's grandson?" Beth stuttered. "Yes. THE PEARLISH OCEAN, my grandma, who is the first woman to be the queen by blood. And the person who told all of you to protect our Ora." Pete said. "What the freaking heck?" Alex whispered. " But who are you? I mean, What are you? Except for the fact, you are Pearlish's grandson, is your name Pete Anderson for real? I don't think so. and What do you want with Ora? You never noticed us before this year. What changed?" Beth asked questions after questions. Very curious, you see. " My name is Petner Ocean, in short Pete. I am King of THE AIR. And Pearl told me to look after Aurora, for giving her more security, also your backup. The fact that I'm interested in her is because We all need HER as a backup. She is our last hope to end all of this. She needs to know the truth about her life. That's why I was standing in front of her door that night. But Pearl warned me before I can tell her anything, told me that THEY don't know who she is now. She said that she is going to tell her the truth by herself. So, I took Aurora to meet Pearl at the park. She wants to take some time to tell her about her life because If Aurora freaks out and can't control her power, she can harm herself." Pete said. " You mean.." Jake looked horrified. " Yeah, He woke from his long, long nappy nap. And We need Aurora else everything will crumble down." Pete informed them. " But can't Lucifer do anything about this? I mean, He did it once. Why can't he do now?" Henry asked. " He said he is only able to put him to sleep, which is not beneficial because someone will wake him up again. Yes, someone woke him up, we don't know who yet. And He will try to destroy everything again. So, He suggested that we end this once and for all. To do that, we need Aurora. It's her destiny, that's what prophecy says. It's all about bonding, they say. Pearl said it's time. She can do it. She is the only one who can do it. That is what she was born to do. No matter how much we try to protect her so that she won't have to face anything dangerous, We all know she has to face THE ONE when it's time. We can not change her destiny. We can only support and be with her." Pete said.

" How are you, the King of the air, if you are Pearl's grandson?" Alex asked. " We don't choose THE ELEMENTS. AIR chose me to be its KING and maybe because its King died exactly on the day I was born." Pete said. " That means the king didn't have any Heir?" Alex asked. " Yes, He did. But THE ELEMENTS only chose those who are worthy of it. His heir must not have been worthy enough. That's why AIR chose Pete." Jake informed his friend, who didn't know anything, unlike them. "So, Pearl is not the heir to the ocean?" Alex asked. " No, She is the heir. But as I said, THE ELEMENTS chooses its owner. Pearl is worthy. So, The Ocean chose Pearl." Pete said. " So, She can't control water? She can only control The Ocean?" Alex. " Oh, for God's sake, Alex, Shut your damn mouth. we are in the middle of something serious." Beth shouted. " No, He should know, He is one of the protectors of our Ora, So he deserves to know. Yes, She can control water. But she also controls everything that lies deep within the ocean. Even the mermaids and the mermen. Now, Did you understood Mr. Alex Perkinson?"Pete said while he smiled. " How did you know my surname?" Alex asked, furrowing his brows. "Your father was my dad's friend. He used to come to my house and play with me when I was a kid before He passed away. I'm sorry for your loss, Alex. He was like my own uncle whom I loved him dearly." Pete said with a sad smile. " Yeah, Me too. But No one ever mentioned you." Alex said. " Yeah, My father told him not to tell that he knows us to anyone, not even you. Otherwise, you all would have been in trouble. But your mother knew. Your mother knew everything." Pete said. "WOW!!!" Alex said. "Thanks for letting me know, man," Alex said. "No problem. We are all in it together." Pete said, smiling.

" So, I think you all got your answers. Now, we'll be moving. Oh, Jake, I won't steal her from you, if you are afraid of anything like that. I'm her protector, like you." Pete said, smiling. "You can't steal her. She'll always be my BFF. No matter what." Jake said, throwing his challenging look at him." Yet. She is not aware of the truth. And she doesn't know that you have been lying to her. Hope, she takes it well." Pete smirked. "That's my problem. Not yours. Now, get the hell out of here." Jake shouted.

"See you later, kids," Pete shouted as his jeep drove off.

" I Hate that guy," Jake shouted. " Let's go, Jake. Don't listen to that jerk. She is going to forgive you even if you lied to her. She will forgive all of us. He was just trying to get on your nerves." Beth said, holding his shoulders. "Well, I liked him. He has got style." Alex said, swaying his right hand dramatically sideways. "And He answers all your stupid questions," Henry said to him, chuckling. "Hey, my questions are not stupid. I just happened to not know about these things that much as you all. You heard everything, Dad never told me about these things. He wanted to protect me." Alex said. " Yeah. I know, Dude. I know." Henry said, smiling sadly. "Come on, guys. Let's go." Beth said.

" Hi, Jake. Come in." Aurora said, opening the door. " What are you doing here, Jakey, at this hour?" Aurora asked. "I came to apologize for what I did in the morning. I should never have shouted at you. I was just worried." Jake said. "It's okay, Jake. I know. But Pete is a nice guy." Aurora said, smiling. Jake was clenching his hands into a fist. After a few seconds, he calmed down and said, "Just be careful. You worry me too much, Pumpkin." Jake said. " Yeah, I will, Cakey." Aurora smiled and hugged her BFF.

"Who the hell are you?" Ora asked. "I'm your death, Aurora." An unknown person said." How do you know my name?" Ora asked. " Oho, I know everything about you, PUMPKIN. And I know you more than you know yourself." Stranger said. " Oh, Shut the crap!!! Tell me who you are, Right now. Else I will kick your ass here and now." Aurora shouted. "Oooh, feisty, Just like your dad." Stranger said. " I said, tell me who you are?" Aurora shouted angrily. " You will get to know soon. And when you do, you will shiver just hearing my name, PUMPKIN. Until then, let's play with your friends. Shall we?" Stranger said. " Leave my friends alone!!!" Aurora shouted. "Ora, Get out of here," Jake shouted at the top of his voice. "Jake?? Jake, where are you? Answer me." Aurora asked. " I'm here, Pumpkin," Jake replied. He was burning in fire. Blood covered his face. Still, he has got his smile. " You can't do anything about it, Aurora. Just go and save yourself." " Ora!!!" Beth cried. "Beth... Beth!!! What are you doing in this cage?" Aurora asked. " He put me in here, Aurora. But You should go. Listen to Jake. GO!!" Beth faded in the air. "Beth, Where are you???" Aurora asked. " Ora, Get out of here." Alex's voice. "Alex, I'm not leaving you all here," Aurora said. Alex was falling down the cliff, his hand holding the edge. "NO!!!! You have to go. You are our only hope. You have to go now. So, that you can kill him later." Alex shouted, falling down the cliff. "Ora, He's stronger, but you are stronger than him. But you have to go now. You can not control your powers, Aurora. You have to control it so that you can kill him." Henry shouted. He was on the ground, beaten so badly that when he talks, blood his gushing out from his throat. His cheeks pale. It seemed like he was also having trouble breathing. "Aurora, Sweetheart, go. Go to Petner Ocean. He'll save you. You'll learn to control your powers. Then only you can beat him." Jake said. " I love you, Pumpkin. I always did, should've told you sooner. I'm sorry, Pumpkin." Jake confessed, smiling sadly. Then He vanished. Everything turned black. "Jake!! NO!! Beth? Alex?? Henry?? Where are you, guys???" Aurora shouted, falling to the ground crying her heart out. "I can't live without you guys. Please come back." Aurora pleaded while crying. "I'm coming for you, Aurora. You are next. I'll come for you after I have killed everyone you love." The stranger said, laughing evilly.

"NOOOOOOO!!!!" Aurora shouted and woke up from her sleep. " I was dreaming. But it felt so real." Aurora said, sighing. Her heart was pounding. Tears were falling spontaneously. This continuous pain like acid is burning through her heart. "Honey, Are you alright???" Her mom came running to her. "Yes, Mom, It was a nightmare," Aurora said, smiling. "I am fine now." "Are you sure, dear?" Her mother asked again. "Yes, mom. Don't worry. I am fine." Ora replied.

'It's just a dream. I am fine. We are fine.' Aurora thought to herself and went to sleep.
