The Virus Between us

"This is interesting. So you think you are my mate and want me to mark you?" "No Logan, I want you to bond with me. I am deeply in love with you, Logan, which was why I accepted the offer to come." Logan looked at her with that pitiful look on his face and did not hesitate to break the news in front of her, "Well, I'm sorry to tell you I won't do that. I'm already in love with someone else, so please get lost!" he bluntly declared. "In love with...?" She asked, opening wide her inquisitive ears to get answers immediately. "Hi, Logan, I've been looking for you everywhere." A young fair lady, well dressed and adorned with so much jewelry, walked up to him and kissed him so hard on his lips without minding the fact that he was talking to another lady next to him. And Logan did respond with so much affection and desire to keep on kissing her to an extent that Aurora needed no one to tell her this was the lady he was talking about: the lady who stole his heart away from his people and kept him in the dwellings of mortal men. She cleared her throat the second she felt this tingling of jealousy and unbearable discomfort in her mind as they kept kissing. The lady soon realized the presence of someone around and so withdrew herself from him, leaving him with this desire to kiss her the more because she really aroused him so well by that sudden kiss. She looked at Aurora and asked immediately, "...and who are you?" Aurora knew from the lady's facial expressions that the lady was thinking absolutely what she herself was thinking, so she replied, "Nah, I'm not... It's not what you think okay, I am Aurora." Aurora panicked, stretching forth her hands to shake the lady because she felt a need to not get into any relationship trouble with someone just because she was trying to do her tribe a favour. She knew if she should admit or make the lady feel for one second that she was trying to get Logan's attention drawn to her, it would be calling for trouble; so she tried to cover up by introducing herself even before the lady could ask. "Really, I'm glad to know you exist. Come on! So, tell me, who are you and how are you related to Logan?" She asked to be more clear because it was not hidden from Aurora's appearance that she was trying to keep something from her and she was very much aware of that fact, so she asked. Aurora delayed responding because she did not quickly know what to come up with and, luckily for her, Logan was there to cover up and he did it by first clearing his throat with his right hand wrapped up in a fist towards his mouth before letting his breath flow to interrupt the ongoing conversation between her and Aurora. "Hey, Danielle, meet Aurora. Aurora, Danielle. She happens to be one of my friends from the place I come from, alright." Logan interjected. "O, really? You never mentioned her to me, Logan, you mean you had a lady and you told me there's virtually no woman in your life at all!" She exclaimed audibly, not because she was mad, but because the sound of the music intensified, making it unbearable and impossible for someone in that spirit to keep her voice down. "No, no, Danielle. It's not what you think. She came to deliver a message and I believe she is done and we are fine with that. Besides, she was going to take her leave before you showed up. Come on! Let's not make a scene." Logan pleaded while making eye contact with Aurora with gestures to make Aurora nod and agree with him, and she was smart to nod in agreement so as to make Danielle get over it. Aurora knew Danielle acted that way because of the way she kept her face when trying to deny she had nothing to do with Logan and so did not take that as a thing; besides, she would have done the same if she were to be in Danielle's shoes. Danielle looked at Logan for a moment and then turned to face Aurora to see if she could get confirmation and the second she did, Aurora nodded in agreement and said amicably, "Nice meeting you Danielle. I'm like a sister to Logan, nothing to worry about." She lied to make Danielle be more convinced. "O really! Wow, nice meeting you then. Now, please, if you would excuse me, I've got to steal your brother away from you for a very long time. Logan come on, we've got to go." Danielle exclaimed, having this surprised look on her face and a feeling of sudden satisfaction from what Aurora just said to her, which gave her an even better reason to take Logan away with her. She placed her hand in-between Logan's arms and pulled him away and he gladly went away with her. Aurora watched them leave and could do nothing to stop them, knowing fully well that Logan could be merciless if she dared try to use her sorcery on Danielle, which she really desired to do when Danielle asked her to tell her who she was. She waved them goodbye, staring at Logan, who only winked at her while rising up from the stool he sat on. "Damnit!" Aurora stormed angrily and took up her wine to quickly drink it. She fixed her gaze on them and gradually followed them as they walked into the crowd to leave. It was almost getting to two in the morning by the time she looked at her wrist watch and so she knew she had no-time left and needed to get Logan to agree to come with her within the next twenty-four hours, based on the fact that the vampires were not gonna give up and would always fulfill their desires. Three days earlier, they received a letter from the vampires that they would attack again in the space of two weeks. Although their last attack on the entire wolf's territory was almost a huge success if not for Vince, who defended until the poison took hold of him, they knew they needed a capable alpha to lead them and, as well, keep the vampires away from them for good. Their only hope for salvation was Logan and, from the look of things, the challenge of getting him back to them would be impossible, and the tribe was already on the verge of losing everything if he didn't return. They needed Logan to be back for them to have enough time to prepare and they barely had a week to make it count; for this reason, Aurora needed to get him within twenty-four hours to make up for the limited time they had, which was not even sufficient. While she followed hard on their tail, she gradually developed this sudden hatred in her heart for Danielle and truly desired to kill her from that very moment because she felt Danielle was a virus and one that needed urgent attention before the virus affected them all. While on their tail, she heard loudly the voice in her head crying out loud in anger, "Kill her...!" And there is a saying that all werewolves have this ability to communicate with their inner wolf while in human form and hers was in a rage and there was literally nothing she wouldn't do to stop the enraged voice in her mind...
