Chapter-2. Ryan's POV: I stared at my unwanted guest and shot her my utmost famous hard glare. However, I enjoyed watching her expressions as she flinched every time, whenever her eyes met my cold ones. It's like she assured herself to be fearless and brave in front of me. Excellent. I always wanted people to know who I was and with whom they were messing. I felt my lips curving into a known smirk for having such type of effect on someone that I don't even know. They remind me of my power. They just cannot challenge me within a snap or breeze. Maintaining my dangerous face, I snapped, raising my voice at her, "Again, what do you want and why are you here?" Instantly, her brows knitted together in fury. The confidence she lacked was back as she fiercely glared at me, "You tell me," she started in her high pitched voice stepping forward, making me highly incensed, "What allows you to ruin my brother's career? You didn't even listen to his side of the story?" She demanded, her eyes showing immense amount of coldness as she gritted her teeth. She turned quite outrageous. I c****d my brow at her. She is unknown to me and she has the ability to express her displeasure and demanding things. And now when I recall her last statement, I don't really get what makes her so angry. "What are you talking about?" I asked, my tone came out uncertain. She let out a bitter chuckle only to gain a dirty look from my side. Before I could let out my fury, she meddled, "How many people have you ruined Mr. Ryan Parker, that you don't even remember their names, huh?" She scathingly uttered looking at me coldly. "Don't beat around the bushes. Just come to the point." I hissed with frustration banging my fists at my table. She's annoying. I don't understand why am I still talking to her and tolerating her. I could just drag her out of my office, but I guess she dared to talk looking at my eyes challenging me. So, I just want to know what she had to say. "Evan Wright, your manager at all your construction sites," she responded in a firm voice and my agitation was back all over again hearing about him. My jaw immediately clenched and I shot her an acrimonious scowl. "He was the reason for my loss and destruction," I gritted, "And I don't tolerate losses in my company's business." This time, I say as if it's nothing. This infuriated her even more. She was enraged by now. "No. You are not right," she disagrees right away, "He didn't do anything and he was just doing his job. Now, because of you he's in penal complex and I am not able to do anything about it." She accused pointing her finger at me and snapped. Although I was supposed to be angry on her, I smirked challenging her and she continued the task of glaring at me. "You know Mr. Ryan Parker, what your problem is?" She paused leaving me startled as I stare at her amused. Taking few steps she passed me a livid stare, "You want things to be your way and to be done your way only," she hissed coldly. "And when the situation is the other way around, you can't Pou yourself up with that. Why's that? Because you are an egotistical person carrying a 'my way or highway' stance and cannot stand someone like my brother objecting your ways and in return you do the most expected thing. Like a rich powerful person you are, you degrade them and their ability and fire them. And guess what? That's not satisfying yet on your part. You accused my brother of something he never did and now he's fighting against a powerful beast like you." She said it all in one go, he eyes glaring daggers at me. Her tone cold, just like my expression towards her. "You have no idea whom you're dealing with. Do you?" I stated calmly folding my arm with a knowing smirk on my face. I expected her to feel frustrated and terrified. But I was again wrong. She really does have some guts to represent her guilty brother. She surely does not realize that yet. And that cheat uses his sister to get back his freedom. Like, I would never grasp this fact. Loser. "What do you want me to do? Give him his freedom?" I stated trying to control my ill tempered state. "If that's what you assume, you're certainly wrong. That's not going to happen. He deserves it and that's what happens when someone betrays me, he himself made his life hell by backstabbing my company and I checked everything. He was one of the culprits." I roared clenching my jaw tight. She had coldness in her eyes. She didn't flinch this time. I found her giving me an vicious stare. I did not find the importance to waste my time anymore with this stupid argument. I averted my gaze and opened the folder which was much more significant that that dense woman in front of me. I uplifted my gaze after a moment or so and she was still standing there as her face glowered. If looks could kill, I would definitely be thousands feet under by now. "What?" I snapped at her and she flinched by sudden rising of my voice. She mumbled something to herself and turned to leave but something caught her mind as she turned around. I arched up my brow at her and she closed her eyes before speaking. Taking a deep breath, precisely, trying to get back her courage of dealing with me. But I certainly had my I don't care attitude with me. However, the words she spoke made me pass her a stare containing incredulity, "Don't fire your assistant. She was just doing her job but it was me who pushed her and walked in." She said maintaining her calm. I looked at her with disbelief. I mean she was screaming and challenging things a minute back and now she's requesting me not to fire my assistant. How stupid of her! I raised my brows and smirked wickedly thinking about something. Getting up from my seat, I made steady steps towards her. She seems to be out of her reverie as I noticed her taking a few steps back. "Are you serious? I mean you were furious at me a minute back." I stated letting out a wry chuckle mixed with amusement in my tone. Her cold yet, uncertain eyes stared back at me. She spoke looking everywhere but at me, "Because she wasn't at fault and I don't want anyone to lose their job," she paused darting her eyes again my way, "Especially because of me." I stepped back and gulped a whole glass of water and then a thought crossed my mind making me smirk a little more. "On one condition," I remarked suddenly. She looked carrying a puzzled expression. Making my way where she was rooted, I brought my hand up to her face. Utterly befuddled, she backed away but I was much faster to trail down my finger on her cheek roughly. She instantly jerked it away as I chuckled, stepping back. She rolled her eyes and raised her eyebrows asking me about my condition. "Why don't you be my assistant? I can offer her another job." I said in a deep voice and as expected, her brows rose in disturbance and fright. I shrugged my shoulders carelessly and turned on my back. "What?" She yelled ad my eyes glazed over. "You heard me right." I stated with a reserved face and looked at her. "Have you lost your mind? I would prefer to be jobless than working with a person like you." She hissed right back, harshness dripping from her tone. I clenched my jaw and my fists balled to my sides automatically by her rejection. No one, and by that I mean no one dared to reject me and this foolish and naïve woman in front of me has already shouted, demanded, glared and rejected me all in one day. And the most funny yet unbelievable part was I am still dealing with her. I quirked my brows sideways looking at her and she gave me a challenging look. "Okay, I'll take back all the charges and will make sure your brother gets a decent job." I said at once searching for her reaction. I, myself was so dumbfounded by my statement. Usually, I am not the one giving in so easily. Seriously, I don't know what made me say that. May be I was thinking differently. I can show where she stands actually as she will be around me if she agrees to be my assistant. She has to accept this, she doesn't not really have an option. She already crossed her limits and now it's my time to teach her a good lesson. Enough of her bates already. I get to decide what I do and what I don't. I smirked evilly thinking that. Her eyes bugged out and she fidgeted with her fingers. She looked at me quizzically. "Are you sure? Will you genuinely take back all the charges? What if I don't, what if you don't mean whatever you said few moments back?" She ranted, finding her voice and it croaked at the end. I nodded my head and shrugged a little. "I guess I can extend your brother's stay in the prison, I don't think it's a good idea on your part. No?" I let out a crooked evil smile, observing her facial expressions. She had a deep frown at first, and then an acrimonious scowl appeared on her forehead, which directed towards me. She again drifted back to her thoughts. After a moment or so, she nodded her head in yes and I smirked inwardly. "I'll take it as a yes then." I stated. "Join me from tomorrow at 7 am sharp. Don't be late. I don't endure late employees." I said in my most professional tone. She was still in her deep thoughts but nodded her head anyhow. "What are you waiting for, Leave." I ordered rudely and she flinched a little but masked her expressions quite quickly. Then giving me her final glare, she turned and left the place. It's going to be fun. I smiled inwardly. Finally, I can show them their real places. How dare that p***y send his sister to deal with me? She will absolutely pay the price of messing with me. **********
