Lima is not home
“How much is this?” glory asked as she eyed the delicious fruit, she could almost taste it. “it is five xuans, they are freshly harvested from my pink Hygroma farm” replied the trader, his ears perked up excited at the posibility of making a sale. “They look delicious I’ll take two” she paid the trader and took the fruits, she begun to eat it. The marketplace was buzzing with foreigners and locals alike, and the various items being sold dazzled everyone. The city of Lima in Erah was a melting pot filled with aliens and beings from different planets in the galaxy. She had her sights set on the Jeweler; she had spent weeks watching his store and knew he would have new arrivals of rare and beautiful precious stones from various planets; and his shipments were about to arrive. Glory was a skilled thief who had mastered the art of stealth. Growing up on the streets forced her to learn how to steal in order to survive after she gave up prostitution in Lima's slums. She had no recollection of her past or who her parents were, but she knew she was human because she had met a few humans in the various cities she had visited on Erah. Humans had small settlements in each city where they sold human food, art, items, and clothing. She had learned about the earth from some of the humans, but it was not the same as experiencing it; she always wished she could visit but lacked the funds to pay for a return trip. A small spaceship carrying the precious stones landed in a remote area, four heavily armed Erahian guards stepped out, and the jeweler approached the spacecraft to inspect it. Glory analyzed the guards; she couldn't easily take them; she was quick but not as physically strong; she needed to act quickly to avoid being hurt or apprehended and drawing unnecessary attention to the scene. Glory had climbed to a rooftopthat was close enough to see what was going on. She opened fire on them and knocked out all the guards and the owner, putting them all to sleep with dart guns, once she was sure all the guards were out of the ship and had taken out all the packages containing the jewelries and precious stones. She then went on to carry as many jewels as she could. "Little thief," a voice said as she opened one of the boxes. She set down the jewelry and held her gun. "Who's there?" Anxiously she scanned the vicinity, suddenly she was punched to the ground and her lips began bleeding; she hadn't expected that and still couldn't see who had attacked her; the invisible person's voice was male; she began shooting around and realizing that the sounds from her gun would attract attention; she started running away with what little jewelry she could salvage. "You won't get away," the voice said again as she was hit with something sharp and heavy, sending her flying across the street, hitting the ground and dropping the jewelry she was holding. She was hurt, bleeding, and bruised, but she got up and ran. She tried to put as much distance between herself and whoever was following her. She kept firing her gun until the invisible man cried out and his blood dripped out of him to the ground. She shot him again, and this time he was visible; he was a massive being wearing a mask that made it impossible to tell who he was. She took advantage of the fact that she had hurt him and fled for her life. She didn't stop for anything until she arrived at her lair. Glory arrived at her apartment bleeding and she quickly grabbed the first aid kit to nurse her wounds. She was still disoriented from her encounter with the “invisible” male. Who was he? and how did he know she would be there, was it just a coincidence or was he a law enforcement authority or a thief out for the precious Jewels also? How would she explain this to her boss Molok; Molok was the leader of the crime syndicate in lima and he supplied glory with weapons to carry out her thievery, and she owed him a great debt. She was running out of time because Molok was getting impatient and had threatened her, her life was in danger if she did not figure out a way to pay him soon. There was a knock on her door, startled she grabbed her gun and walked slowly to the door, she was paranoid that the strange man had found her, she had made sure she would not be followed when she shot his legs. She looked through her surveillance screen next to the door and it was a familiar face, she opened the door relieved it was not the man that was after her. “Myra you scared me, do come in” she said as she pulled her friend into the house and locked the door quickly. “Glory what is going on with you? my god you are bleeding! what happened?” Said Myra as she motioned glory to sit down while she grabbed the first aid kit. “You are still risking your life stealing, aren’t you? I know it is not my place, but you have created quite the reputation, and now everyone is on high alert for the thief with the golden mask. How long do you think you can keep up this lifestyle before you are arrested or worst killed? Glory you need to really assess your life and what you want because this can’t be it”. “You sound like my mother, I was going to quit, this was supposed to be my last and final mission. Those jewels were supposed to be my payout and I wasn’t able to get any because of the man that intercepted me”. “Man?” asked Myra “yes a man and I couldn’t make out who he was”. “This is bad, how did he find you or know you were going to be there? was he a security guard Protecting the jewels?” Asked Myra. I do not know because I was so sure of all the guards that would be on duty. He wasn’t supposed to be there”
