Big Bad Wolf

1705 Words
Summer “Tell me again, where are you?” I asked into the phone. It had been a week since the visit of Russian mob boss in my apartment and as much as I wanted to run away from that place I didn’t have any other place to go. “In the dorms, big sister. I am fine. Not doing drugs. No one night stands. No late night parties.” My eighteen years old sister said for the third time but there was no irritation to be found in her voice. She knew how scared I was of something happening to her. She had asked for the reason behind my sudden obsessive questions about her whereabouts but I wasn’t going to answer her. And what would I say, that besides being broke and running from the one and only Gabriel Wolfe, now our father had put us in another kind of danger, this one far more evil than the one we left in New Orleans. “Good. Just take care of yourself. And if there’s anything you need or if anyone is bothering you, you tell me. Okay?” “Okay, mum. Can I go now, I have an assignment to write.” “Yeah, okay. Love you, Rica.” “Love you too, big sister.” And then she hung up the phone and I sat in my apartment looking at the door wondering what should I do for hundred millions. Thoughts churning, I walked to the window looking out at the street. There was no one on the opposite lane, keeping eyes on my apartment. I had seen a black car, half hidden in the shadows many times since Rose’s wedding so it took me by surprise that no one was here today keeping watch. And what if it was the reason that that Russian boss had managed to get in my apartment. Would his men have stopped him if they were here? And why weren’t they here? Despite running away from New Orleans three years ago, I had always wondered what would’ve happened if we had stayed, if he had taken me with him as was promised to him. My father broke the promise. And I happily obliged. Because the idea of belonging to Gabriel Wolfe terrified me. He evoked feelings in me that I didn’t know what to do with. There was a time when I had dreamed about him of my own free will. There was a time when I had felt excited whenever he came to our house for his business meetings with my father. There was a time when I would find a way to cross his way just to have those blue eyes looking at me. But then that all changed when I saw what he was capable of. When I saw that behind those soft eyes and soft smiles was a man who was a cold blooded killer. When I realised that he wasn’t my prince charming. But a tyrant king. So I had ran away. Away from him. Away from the foreign feelings that he managed to bring out in me. For the last to years I had forgotten about him. His tender smiles. His possessive touch. His impenetrable aura. Those predatory blue eyes that sent anticipated shivers down my body. But then there he was. In my boss’ wedding. Dancing with the bride and my friend. For a minute there I had been frozen as I had looked at him. Taking my fill. He had changed. His shoulders were more broader than before. His smile more sardonic and manipulative. He had carried himself with a laziness of a predator roaming in the wild when in truth he was in between the richest and highest class of people. But as much as he looked at home between them, he still stood out as a wolf in sheep’s clothing. And that day when I had looked at him, catalogued every change I had seen in him after three years what rankled the most was the fact that he hadn’t looked at me. I had told myself that I was glad I was unrecognisable to him in my makeover. But deep down, something had twisted and turned in disappointment. Only, I had been wrong. I wasn’t the only one watching. He had seen me too. And there was another rub in it. Even when he had known I was there he hadn’t come for me. Not that I wanted him to. No. Not at all. Putting an end to the thoughts of one Gabriel Wolfe, I came to my current predicament. There were not many options for me. I already have the best job that I could get in one of the best companies in the country. At twenty four being a virgin I couldn’t even try my luck in being a most sought after prostitute. What? I have heard many of them even own their own villas and drive million dollars worth cars. But I don’t think any billionaire seeking a companion for the night would want to teach me things that I should already know being in the business. I walked to the kitchen and filled a glass of water from the tap and as I drank my mind worked in overdrive. I didn’t want to take the obvious path but I also knew I didn’t have any other choice. But still for the sake of the peace of my mind, I opened my laptop and searched for the ways to earn a buttload of money. An hour later I slumped back on the sofa my eyes still focused on the woman on her knees blindfolded and handcuffed while a man f****d her mouth. So now I knew that I only have three options. A, to be a s*x slave to some desperate multi-billionaire. B, selling my virginity. And I think these two are similar. But then there was the third option to go to the devil I already knew somewhat and ask for help, which will also come at a cost. Without giving it a second thought and that I would lose my nerves, I stood up and went to my bedroom. I am gonna do it. Just rip the Band-Aid off. At least then I would know if I had anyway to save my family. It took me another three hours to reach my destination. I had called Ryan and he had given me what I needed, an address to find the big bad wolf. But besides that, my boss had been reluctant to give me that address and at last he had added, “Be careful, Summer. My wife would kill me if anything happened to you. She cares for you.” It was Ryan’s cryptic way of saying that he cared for me too and that he wasn’t too happy with what I was about even though he was himself friend with this wild animal he was warning me about. Now as I walked up to a club that I hadn’t even ever heard about my heart pounded behind my rib cage and my mind screamed at me to turn around and run back to the safety of my small apartment, but that was the problem. That small apartment wasn’t safe anymore. Two big bouncers stepped out of the shadows as I neared the door. “Miss?” One of them said. “I am here to meet Gabriel Wolfe.” I said and felt his name rolling off my tongue like a lover’s caress. Damn it! The man didn’t bat an eye as he said, “I am sorry, Miss. This is a private club and there’s no one that goes by that name.” “I assure you I know what type of club this is.” I didn’t have an idea. Nope, not a clue. “And I know he is here. And believe me he would want to meet me.” The second bouncer came closer to me. “Only men with special invitation come here and the women who come here are for their pleasure. Are you one of them?” I stiffened. “Just call your boss and tell him that Summer Cavanagh is here.” The second man standing so near me didn’t budge but I saw from the corner of my eye as the first one walked to the doors and pressed, what looked like a button to an intercom. The man standing in front of me came closer still, his hand came up and he grabbed a loose curl of my red hair as it escaped from the bun inside my hoodie. “I could give you an entry for a fee, you—” “Touch her one more time and you’ll be meeting your maker.” The words although came out of the speaker from the intercom, there was no mistaking the lethal kind of authority behind those words. The barely restrained wild animal. And instead of being scared, for his words made man in front of me pale and he stumbled back, his words made feel like something lit inside me. My whole being was vibrating with the anticipation of finally seeing him. And there was this small part of me that thrilled seeing his much power he wielded. I looked up around the large doors as I searched for the cameras that must be there. I should've known it from the start, he was watching me. I wondered what he saw. I wasn’t wearing a dress suited for an exclusive club. Nope. I was in a grey hoodie with light blue jean shorts. And the only thing that could pass up as a club wear was my sparkling gold heels that I had wore just because I liked them. And I needed the surge of confidence that they provided, just like the lingerie I wore underneath. What can I say, I like my bra and panties to be expensive and sexy. As I found the blinking red light of the hidden camera, I said, “Are you going to invite me in or not?” Not even a minute passed and the huge double doors opened from the inside. Another hulking man made an appearance, he looked at me and said, “Miss Cavanagh, if you’d come with me.” I tilted my face up to the camera and arched a brow, before bypassing the men and entering the forbidden cave. I wondered if I’ll come out of it whole. THANK YOU FOR BEING SO PATIENT! Here's another update... How you enjoy it!
