***COMPLETE***

Book II of the 'Traded' series, Knox, Rosalie and Zane's book.

"He might have been my Alpha, but he was never my father!”

Finding out that their daughter is a special healer wolf, one born every 150 years, the Alpha and Luna of Red Moon pack's lives get changed forever.

Everything after that one faithful day seemed different. While the Luna was afraid for her daughter's safety, the young Alpha saw it as an opportunity to help his struggling pack. After not being allowed by his wife to go on with his cruel plan, Alpha Esteban snapped, letting aggression, later replaced by guilt, lead instead of his mind, placing his family under unfortunate circumstances.

Suffering traumatic childhoods, Knox and Rose grow up to keep it all bottled up and fight with life on their own, so how would Rose react when she found the one wolf she was meant to share everything with - her mate?

And what would happen when danger and betrayal once again loomed over their lives at the worst possible time?

Updates this week will be every day except the weekend, then once again Monday and Friday! *** All rights to ''Traded by my Alpha" are reserved and no part of this book can be copied, reproduced, transmitted, or translated in any way, shape, or form. Quite literally as my best friend knocked a library shelf stacked with books on top of me. "Oops!" Zaria giggled, unaware of who I had just found. "Mate!" The future Alpha growled, running up to me and helping me stand up. As his arm touched mine, for the first time, I got to experience what adults always boasted about - the sparks of the mate bond. My mate's wolf came forward, growling at Zari before returning his attention to me. His gaze softened, his touch as light as feathers as he inspected me for injuries. Content there were none, he took his time, allowing his eyes to roam my face, taking in each freckle, dimple, and bump before a small smile spread on his face and his human gained control again, all while Zaria gaped at us and I stood dumbfounded, staring at the handsome wolf I now got to call my own. "What's your name, sweetheart?" His gruff voice met my ears, sounding sweeter than any melody I had ever heard. "Aria." I smiled, his palms cupping my face. "And I'm Esteban, though I'm sure you knew that already." He said, sounding a bit nervous. "We have an effect on him already!" Ailia, my wolf, mused. "This will be fun!" A wolfish grin made its way onto her face, my cheeks growing red with her comments. Esteban leaned in, my eyes closing as I waited for his lips to greet mine, eager to feel more of the sparks, but unfortunately, two coughs interrupted our moment. I stumbled back, his arm reaching to catch me before I hit a bookshelf, my face now crimson red as I mumbled a quick thanks. "My apologies!" A male wolf around his forties rubbed his neck, my mate scrutinizing him with his gaze. "The Alpha wants you back by two pm," Esteban grumbled in annoyance. "Of course he does." He muttered before straightening his back and facing the wolf again. "Tell him I'll be there with a special guest." The wolf nodded, smiling at me, then left to make a phone call. "You want to take me to meet the Alpha!" I shrieked, my voice coming out louder than I had expected it to. "No need to panic, sweetheart!" He chuckled, intertwining our fingers. "My father has been excited for me to find a mate, being sick and all he never thought he'd be able to see the day!" I let out a quick breath, tightening my hold on his hand. "I'll try my best not to disappoint," I promised, my mate pecking my forehead. "You're already perfect, no need to try." "I-I think I'll see you tomorrow then, yeah?" Zaria eyed Esteban, who was glaring at her. "No, you won't." He stated, crossing his arms over his chest while she gulped. My best friend was a free-spirited female, who always had something to say, always in the wrong moment. Classes with her were fifty percent studying and fifty percent either elbowing her in the ribs, hissing at her to shut up, or trying my best not to laugh as loudly as I would like. There was never a dull moment with her and I had to admit, seeing her like this - quiet and intimidated, felt weird and unnatural. "I'll see you tomorrow," I confirmed, letting her scurry away, Esteban's glare now on me. "She put you in danger." He stated again. Despite attempting to glare at me, I could see worry flash in his eyes. His gaze couldn't scare me, no matter how hard he tried. "She's my best friend," I explained calmly. "She meant no harm, I'm sure you'd love her when you get to know her!" He rolled his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest again. "I doubt it." He muttered under his breath. "Zaria is the sweetest, most fun person I know, you two either learn to get along, or that would make family dinners awkward." He surrendered, pulling me into his arms again. "We wouldn't want dinner to be awkward now, would we?" He sighed playfully, already opening up to me. "It is my favorite meal of the day, after all." And then we spent the rest of the morning going through the books we needed, I did my best to finish my homework faster, so I could help him out with pack-related issues, already excited about becoming Luna. *** Tears spilled down my cheeks as I stared at the little stick with two lines in my hand. Positive. I was carrying a pup, my mind already going over every dream and possibility I'd ever thought of. I remembered being a pup myself when I played family with some friends at daycare, remembered always helping out when there were babies around, and wondering what it would feel like to have my own. My hands trembled as I continued to stare at the test in disbelief, afraid that I would wake up and it would all be a dream. I shook my head, my free hand covering my mouth to stop a sob from escaping. "We're going to have a pup!" Ailia whispered in awe, her maternal instincts coming forward. I heard rustling from somewhere out of the room, my mate's scent lingering in the air. I wiped my tears and practically hoped out, hiding the test in the back pocket of my jeans. As soon as he saw me, Esteban pulled me into his arms, smashing his lips onto mine. "I need to tell you something!" I beamed, his full attention now on me, rather than the schedule ahead of him like most mornings. I found my mate when we were both seventeen, him being only a couple of months older than me. His father has since passed away due to issues with his health, leaving Esteban, his only heir, and I, in charge of Red Moon. It has been three years since we fell into a routine, four since the late Alpha lost his life. Our bond hadn't always been unshakable, especially after my mate lost his father and gained responsibilities he hadn't yet planned to. It strained our relationship for a while, he became a bit distant, though never mean or cold. Our lives took a bit of adjusting, his more than mine, so I patiently waited until he could build a schedule and get the pack thriving again, and after that, we worked on fixing the issues that had popped up between us. Ever since then, we worked side by side, mornings being the only time he needed to think and plan without me. I had always wanted to start a family young, but with as many responsibilities as we had, I didn't know if we would be ready. Now though, as I knew life was already growing in my womb, I knew we would be okay. We would be more than okay, we would be happy. "Just spit it out, sweetheart!" He smiled, worry flashing in his eyes, despite the happiness in mine. "So, you know how I've always told you I've dreamed of being a mother?" He eyed me curiously, but other than that looked clueless, making my wolf chuckle. "I may or may not be on the path to achieving that dream." I beamed, yet still, my poor, clueless wolf of a mate had no idea what I was talking about. I giggled, taking the test out and handing it to him, watching as he carefully stared at it before his eyes met mine again. "You're-" He gulped, making me laugh again. "I'm carrying your pup!" I squealed, placing a hand over my belly, which I couldn't wait to watch grow. Esteban's pupils grew, his fingers tugging at the tie of his suit as he continued to stare at the two lines. "And I'm going to be a dad?" I nodded. He sat down, getting up as soon as he did. He paced around the room silently, my confusion growing. I thought he'd be happy. "Oh my god, I'm going to be a dad!" He finally stopped pacing, waving the test in front of me. "I'm going to have a pup!" He smiled, pulling me into his arms once more. Only then was I able to relax again, wrapping my arms around him. That was six and a half months ago, the fastest, yet slowest, most exhausting six and a half months of my life. Now, I lay in a hospital bed with our little boy in my arms, while my mate rubbed soothing circles on them. His eyes were still teary as he stared at our half an hour old pup, none of us willing to believe he could be ours. Our sweet Knox was absolutely perfect. He was everything I had ever dreamed of and yet so much more than my wildest dream. He didn't have much hair, but what little he possessed was already jet-black like his father's. His features were still just like any other newborn's, yet even the sight of him made my heart swell and my eyes water. My family was so much more than little Aria could ever imagine. I grew up in a household where no one cared about the other. My sister was much older than me, already finishing middle school when I was born. My parents were the kind of wolves that lived for tomorrow and for the next party they were invited to, pups never being in the plan for them, in fact, nor were mates. My sister wasn't my father's, even today, it made me wonder how a man like him could take in a woman with a child, he had never been the loving type. My mother regretted having my sister, whether it was because she fell for her mate, unlike what she thought, or because she was a responsibility, I didn't know. Along with not being the loving and caring type, they also weren't talkative with anyone but one another. My sister was already used to it, to growing up in a household where no one cared about her, or made her fresh meals. She was used to staying at friends' houses and coming home only when she needed to. When I was born, I changed that. Neither my mother, nor father had planned to have a child of their own, disliking me from the very second I took my first breath. My mother would often blame me for not fitting into clothes she used to fit in before, and my father for having to provide me with basic necessities. But that was all they'd ever say to me. Roxy found her mate in high school and left home, never returning or calling. Even now, I could only hope she was doing well since I hadn't spoken to her after that day. I tried hard to be the perfect daughter, to stay out of their way when they went out, to make them breakfast and bring them water after the endless parties, I tried to study and find friends and live as normal of a childhood as I could, but nothing was ever enough. I stopped trying to make them proud, stopped trying to gain their love, and realized that Roxy wasn't doing it because she was a brat, she was doing it because there was no point. I began trying for myself and only myself. I learned how to cook, so I wouldn't starve, found small things I could do for some money, and earned good grades. It all paid off as I got everything I wanted - food, friends, academic success. All but one, I guess. A family was something I'd always dreamed of. When I didn't find one in my parents, I'd seek it in the children I babysat, in their families, later dreaming of just having my own. Of finding a decent mate that would love me and of carrying his pups, giving those pups the life I wished my parents could have given me. "Are you alright, sweetheart? Are you in pain, should I call someone?" Esteban panicked, wiping my tears away. I shook my head, a smile curling on my lips as I looked at our son before looking back up at him. "I'm okay, just thinking." He sighed in relief, taking the pup out of my arms and cradling him to his chest. "Get some sleep, I'll bond with my boy!" He winked, my smile growing as I watched him coo and talk to the baby. *** "Knox, darling, come look!" I was sitting on the couch, holding our second pup, this time, a little girl, as our three-year-old son ran around the suit, knocking whatever he could get his little hands on. Upon hearing my voice, however, my sweet son jumped on the couch, calming down at the sight of his sister. My mate sat next to us, picking Knox up and settling him into his lap, pointing at our daughter. "That's Rosalie, your baby sister." He explained, Knox curiously eyeing the baby. Rosalie stirred at the very same moment, yawning and stretching her tiny hands. Despite being of Alpha blood like her brother, she was much tinier than he was at three days old. "As a big brother you'll have to work hard to protect her and be very very strong, can you do that?" He grinned, placing his hand over Rosie's blanket. "I so strong!" He told his sister, turning to us for confirmation. I smiled at him, nodding, pride flashing in my and Esteban's eyes. "I keep her from the bad wolfies!" The toddler said, though despite his age, something told me he really would. "Do you want to hold her?" I asked. Almost immediately, he began nodding his head up and down, enthusiasm rolling off of him. "Sit down and place your arms over a pillow!" I instructed. My mate put a pillow on his lap for support, our small son doing his best to sit still, his eyes not leaving his sister. I passed her to him while still making sure to hold her head, Zaria, who had been watching Knox while we were in the hospital, awing and snapping pictures of our little family. And as I watched my mate carefully keep an eye on our son and daughter, his eyes full of love for not only them, but for me too, as I watched my pups be safe, fed, and content, as I felt my heart swell with love and happiness around those I loved, I knew my dream to have a loving family had come true.
