Prologue                        For days the vampires had trudged through the darkest forest to find the realm of Hecate.  Abraham and his followers were determined to stop the coronation of a werewolf as their next queen.  It was bad enough the current queen is half wolf.  The crown prince was also a wolf hybrid and was mated to a full wolf.  Abraham and many other vampires were not about to be ruled by wolves.  He didn't particularly hate the wolves. He didn't want to be ruled by them.            Abraham Josias has been alive for five hundred years.  He was always loyal to King Romulus.  But now, he feels for the sake of the vampires that he must overthrow the DiAngelo family.  If only to preserve the purity of their race.  So here they travel to the realm of their patron goddess Hecate.  Surely she can't be happy that her sister Selene has mated a vampire and a wolf together.             Abraham and his followers finally found themselves in her realm.  The sun faded, and the trees grew black bark.  If not for their being vampires, they would have been lost to the darkness.  Four others were following Abraham.  There had been more, but some damn fairies killed them.             They stopped a gate of black and gold with a pair of giants guarding it. The giants had near-black skin with golden eyes.  Their heads were covered by long brown hair, and they stood at fifteen feet tall. They looked down at Abraham and the others. "State your purpose for coming, vampire?" One of the giants spoke in a deep rumbling voice.            "We are here to speak to Lady Hecate," Abraham bravely stated.            The giants looked at one another. "Only one shall pass to speak to her Ladyship."            Abraham looked back at his friends. "I shall go in, my friends.  Will you wait here?"            "They will not be harmed," The giant assured him.            The followers all nodded. "Pray that Hecate is willing to hear our case and help us." A short vampire named Amos said to Abraham.            Abraham clasped his friend's arm. "I shall, my friend." He looked up at the giants as the gates began to open.             "Walk straight through the darkness to her throne and ask if she will speak with you.  Be precise in your request." The giant explained. "You may go on in."            Abraham nodded and began his journey through the darkness into Hecate's realm. Flashes of bright light lit the path. He walked straight, just as the giant had instructed him.  The air grew o cold that even he was able to notice it. He soon found himself in a room that was brightly lit with an unseen source of light.  In the center of the room sat a black throne swirling with mist beneath it.  Abraham took a knee before it. "My lady Hecate, I Abraham Josias come before you with a plea from your vampire children." He spoke.  There was only silence for a moment before the air swirled and grew even colder.            "Rise, my child," A silky female voice spoke to Abraham.  He rose and looked upon the young looking woman sitting upon the throne.  She was dressed in a black Greek-style dress. Her skin was pale like that of his brethren. Long black hair hung to the middle of her back, and she looked upon him with violet eyes. "I already know why you have come." She stated.            Abraham's mouth fell open. "You do, my lady?"            The goddess let out a cold laugh. "Yes, my child.  You come to seek my help.  My sister Selene felt it necessary to pair the crown prince of your people to one of her dirty wolves, all for the sake of the demon war.  We should not even be involved.  It is not our fight," Hecate hissed.             "Do you side with the demons?" Abraham asked.            "I side with me, Abraham.  I side with my children.   The demons will spare your kind if you remain neutral.  But Selene wants to involve my children in the great fight." Hecate explained in her cold voice. "I will help your people, Abraham.  The mate bond between Crown Prince Dominic DiAngelo and Princess Daisy Fury shall be severed."            "Are you going to sever it?" Abraham asked.            Hecate let out another cold laugh. "No, my child. I'm afraid I can't just sever it.  Only Selene can.  But I will certainly drive the prince and princess to break it themselves." She cackled. "And you, in the meantime, will gain support for a rebellion."            "Do I have to bring King Romulus to his knees?"            "No, just put enough pressure on him to take drastic action and demand his son take a vampire for his queen.  I don't care if he keeps the wolf around as a concubine.  You Abraham will get the people to demand that condition.  In the meantime, I will be putting kinks in the bond between Prince Dominic and Princess Daisy."            "Oh, you are very righteous and clever, my lady." Abraham bowed to her.             "Do not disappoint me, Abraham, or you and your followers shall feel what death feels like." Hecate smiled and then disappeared, leaving Abraham alone in the cold darkness.
