Chapter 6 – Run Away!

Hearing her mother's words, Lynn's eyes flashed with cruelty. “Mom, will Dad really compensate Bella?” Martin even wanted to compensate her, that’s not right! Laura laughed with pride. “Ah, you can rest assured. Why would your father do such things to benefit others?” “It wouldn’t happen. Right, mom?” After getting a satisfying answer, Lynn pushed Laura outside. “Mom, please go to sleep. I'm going to call Martin.” Laura looked at the door which slammed shut right in front of her face and sighed. Lynn was good at everything, she was attractive, and her temperament was decent, but she was too confident. In their bedroom, Len saw his beautiful wife walk in with a face laced with concern, and he asked considerately, “Today was a great day with our victory. Not only did we humiliate Bess, but also won a “Smith” as a son-in-law, what are you worried about?” Laura told his concerns to Len, “As it was planned, Martin should have invited his parents to come and have dinner with us this evening and introduced Lynn to them. But he didn’t, he came alone.” Len responded. “The DB Group stock price did not fall, but it has still somehow been affected. Although Martin performed well, the Smiths must still give an explanation to their shareholders. Don't worry too much. Bella broke up with Martin in such a way, I believe Mr. and Mrs. Smith would not accept her again even if they liked her. You can rest assured.” Laura was reassured. She suddenly remembered something, and reminded him, “By the way, I heard the Lord Charles Williams of Vancouver Island has come to our city, do we need to seek a relationship with him? Didn’t you want to try shipping? If you were able to build a good relationship with the Lord, would you still be worried about your career? Len was unable to believe it. “Are you talking about the King of the Sea, Lord Charles Williams? Is this news reliable?” Laura gave him an aggrieved glance. “Surely reliable. I sent out the necklace with the blue diamonds you bought me from the Sotheby’s in Geneva last year for this news.” Len was moved by this gesture and took his wife in his arms. He looked very excited. “If I achieve this, I will buy you another eight or ten necklaces.” The Williams family on Vancouver Island was one of the wealthiest families who have the most ships in the world. There has never been a shipwreck under the operation of their three generations. Because of the significant contribution of the Sicilian landing and Normandy landings during the Second World War, they were honored as “King of the Sea” by the Queen and were exceptionally appointed as “Lord.” That title had been inherited from generation to generation, and now was the third generation. With Lord Charles Williams. It was said that if you were involved in the marine business without the permission of the “King of the Sea,” you would encounter various accidents. As long as the Lord permitted, your boat would not sink. Marine shipping, if Lord Charles agreed, would be a lifetime benefit, gold and silver would be countless. Cooperating with Charles meant earning a gold mountain. So, there was no wonder that Len was eager for that. ... At noon of the next day, in Charles’s seaside villa among Williams' Mansions. Bella slowly ate the last loaf of bread sent by the servant, she pretended to be forgetful and said, “Lord said that I could find him, if I decided, I don’t know whether he is at home and where I could find him.” “Lord is out today, and tomorrow...” One servant replied with an absentminded response, and another servant snapped at her, “Shut up. Did you forget what Butler Roy said? No one is allowed to mention the Lord to her.” The reprimanded maid bowed her head in dismay. “I'm sorry. I will remember.” Bella blinked as the two maids quietly picked up her plates and left. Although the man had captured her entirely, he did not limit her freedom directly. As long as she stayed in the villa, she could roam freely. She noticed that in every corner, there was a bodyguard and a maid, also there stood two guards in front of the main door of the main villa twenty-four hours a day. So, it would be impossible to walk out of the front door. There was a security booth one kilometer outside the villa, which was also used to prevent visitors from intruding into the dwelling, but they did not patrol in groups as shown in the movies. Standing in front of the window, Bella looked at the crowd along the coast which was near the security booth. Although this place was not a tourist destination, there were still some people coming for free swimming in the summer. If she got into those crowds, she could escape without difficulty. Even if she couldn’t escape, did they dare to kidnap people in broad daylight? Bella opened the closet in the room where the clothes the maids brought her were. The outfits were all summer wear, there were dresses, suits, and leisure wear. She chose a white T-shirt and a pair of white shorts. Wearing shorts was more convenient for her to run. The outfit looked like what she usually wore, but they felt even more comfortable as the fabric touched her skin, and, what’s more important, was that the size fitted her well. Bella kicked her heels off, and put on a pair of sneakers, then climbed onto the ledge of the window like people do in movies, she held the pipe tightly, and slowly scaled down. That room was on the second floor, so it was easy for her to go down this way. Bella steadily looked around to make sure that there was no one watching and immediately ran to a wall in the back garden. There was a hole, possibly dug by a dog, which by looking at it she thought she could manage to pass through it. Bella crawled excitedly and rapidly through the hole. After climbing out, her arms and legs were slightly scraped and red. If she were lucky, no one would notice. She took no mind of her slight injuries and run fast to the beach. If she jumped into the sea and swam near the swimmers, she would partly succeed. “Miss Brook?” A doubtful voice arose behind her. Bella was shocked. He must be a servant of the “Lord.” Bella trembled with fear, thinking of the narcissistic asshole who was trying to force her to bear his baby, then she picked up her speed, and without hesitation jumped into the sea. Victory is just around the corner! She swam towards the crowd desperately. At the same time, she heard someone continuously shouting, “Miss Brook, come back to the shore. The Lord has already returned. If you make him angry, your situation will deteriorate.” Shit, it's more dangerous to go back. Bella swam in the water, while the guards ran alongside on the shore. After swimming around a kilometer, Bella finally plunged into the shallow water area where tourists gathered. Those guards did not dare to shout, as Bella slowly approached the shore. She aimed at a pair of lovers that walked toward a car. The moment they unlocked the doors, she rushed out at lightning speed and quickly opened the door to get into the back seat, hiding in the leg area behind the passenger seat. “Don’t disturb anyone, split up.” A cold voice arose. Bella was breathing heavily but tried to keep her panting as quiet as possible. The footsteps faded away, and Bella waited for the couple to drive away and leave the beach. However, the engine didn't start at all. She just heard a charming female voice. “Martin, my love, you haven’t kissed me today.” Martin, my love? Lynn Sanders? Bella's face turned white, for the wedding was just canceled yesterday, and they have already coupled up? They’re really... champing at the bit.
