Chapter 3 Pregnant After One Night

580 Words
Taking advantage of the fact the man was still deep asleep, Lily Cox quickly got out of bed and scrambled out of the hotel. She was in no position to process her situation or how sore she was feeling. She needed to rush to the airport to see the man she loved for three years. “Mister, can you drive faster?” Lily Cox sat in the back, wearing a look of concern as she rubbed her hands back and forth. “Miss, you’re not the only one in a hurry. I am too. Look at the traffic ahead of us.” The driver was used to the traffic jam. Because of that, he was too lazy to respond nicely to passengers like Lily Cox who were in a hurry. Lily Cox frowned. She was about to call her senior when an unread message popped up. It was from her Senior! She eagerly opened the text. The few, concise words served its purpose. They were like daggers piercing and clawing at her heart. “I waited the whole night for you like a fool. During that time, I thought a lot, and you’re right. This is it for us. Goodbye, Lily.” Lily Cox felt coldness seep over her. Is her senior planning to cut ties with her, so he could study abroad in America without any worries? No! Senior, I wasn’t going to leave you hanging. I… I just entered the wrong room. She was about to dial the number, but a thought flashed through her mind, and she placed her phone down in irritation. What should she say once he answers? That she was going to meet him and tell him she’ll only marry him, but she accidentally entered the wrong room and slept with the wrong guy? That she gave her virginity to a man she had never seen before? No. She couldn’t. She couldn’t say that. Tears spilled. Her senior was gone. Forever. There was nothing she could do to stop him. Nor did she have the courage to explain something as humiliating as this. Airport. She watched as the plane her senior was in flew across the sky and eventually disappeared off into the distance. She watched him board from afar. He left. Just like that. He left and took her three years’ worth of love with him too. Lily Cox wiped her tears. It was then that she noticed everyone was glancing and pointing at her. Every day in the airport, people were either crying and sending off their loved ones or saying their goodbyes. What was strange about this? She walked to the bathroom. When she saw herself through the mirror, her eyes widened in shock. Jesus! It looked like she took a beating! Hickeys covered her, from her neck all the way to her chest. It felt like someone poured a bucket of cold water on her in the freezing cold winter. Fear. Embarrassment. Shame. Regret. All these feelings overwhelmed her. She trembled upon recalling her embarrassing one-night-stand. There was no way. It was incredulous. She fell limp on the ground, feeling countless flies buzzing over her head. …… A month later. “Miss Cox, congratulations! You’re pregnant! The baby is doing well. Keep it up.” The obstetrician smiled at Lily Cox. Lily Cox received the report and was thunderstruck. She got pregnant after that night! What a potent man! All it took was one night to get her knocked up?!
