My Accidental Luna

Chapter 3

Barrett's POV

I'm standing in the closet of my alpha quarters, all the rooms on this floor, which is the top floor of our pack house, are all basically mini apartments, and trying to figure out what to wear, because I honestly have no idea what the plans for the day are. I settled on a plain navy blue tshirt and jeans to wear with my navy chuck taylors. The shirt shows off my chest muscles and my tattooed arms. Knock knock, "Come in", I shouted from the closet. In walks Sam and Holden, were almost all wearing the same thing, except Sams wearing a white shirt and Holdens got on a dark grey. "You ready?" Sam asks, " Yeah lets get this going, by the way where are we going?" I ask. "We were thinking of hitting up that new restaurant in town first for some lunch, hitting the beach after and then out to the Wolfs Den for drinks and dancing later" Holden says. "Okay yeah Ive heard that the new restaurant has some pretty great food", Shaw starts pacing and prancing in my head, "Dude what is up with you today?!" I practically yell at him, "I don't know but I am excited, that is all I can say, I just feel excited, probably to be out and about again" He internally shrugs, "You okay?" Sam asks worried, "Yea its Shaw again hes all "excited" he says I don't know". They exchanged another look, which won't go unnoticed, but I'll let it slide for now. "Hey wait, the Wolfs Den, really Holden, you get into a fight every single time we go there", I said accusingly.

"He promised to be on his best behavior, which he better if he knows what's good for him, especially if he still wants a mate!" in walks a waddling Mikayla. She's finally starting to show. It's hard to tell though, as she's in extremely good shape being the daughter of a beta of a neighboring pack. We went on business to the Blood Moon pack a year ago and that is where Holden met Mikayla. He used to be a little trouble maker but she has rained him quite a bit. She stands around 5'7" with short blonde hair and deep green eyes. Thankfully, her being of ranked blood kept our two packs as great allies. Heather and Mikayla have been a great help with everything within the pack and they take their roles very seriously. They also get on great as they are both extremely strong, independent women. Following Mikayla was Heather in her skin-tight black tank with ripped black jeans and checkered vans, holding a very clingy baby. Sawyer was definitely a mammas boy but he loved Mikayla. We all joke because she is pregnant with a girl and the reason he is obsessed with Mikayla is because the baby is his future mate. Which they all love the idea of. "La,La, up" Sawyer practically yells at Mikayla and rests his hands on her tummy. He is quite advanced in talking for his age. "Are we ready? This momma needs some free time!" Mikayla practically yells. "Yeah, let's get this over with" I said. "Hey Barrett, please try to loosen up and have some fun, I hate seeing you like this" Mikayla comes over and hugs me. I'm the closest to Mikayla out of her and Heather. Don't get me wrong, I can have a ball with Heather, but Mikayla, since she's my baby brother's mate, I feel the strongest need to constantly protect her, especially since she's pregnant, and has to deal with my brother! "Yea I promise, becareful and don't put too much into watching Sawyer, you know my parents are here to help as well, I don't want anything happening to my niece" I laughed.

Like clockwork, in walks my parents. "Yea give me that little dude I want to teach him all the moves to knock someone out" my father laughs out. "Hey, I do a pretty good job already. Thank you very much, alpha" Heather exclaims. "Oh don't I know it, your the strongest Beta Female we have ever had and we are honored to have you lead the warriors" my dad defends, "all right Bennett stop getting her all riled up I know how you two are. Come on my little man. Let's go get some goodies from the kitchen and get your auntie La here some food for the baby. What do you say" my mom coos at Sawyer, who practicly squealed and jumped out of Mikaylas arms into her, "You all have fun, Holden, not too much fun. Your mate cannot handle all the trouble you get into right now. I mean it" my mother scolds. "Yes mother", Holden hangs his head, then grabs Mikayla and gives her a kiss, "Sawyer don't go stealing La on me now while im gone" He jokes. We call Mikayla, La to Sawyer since he can't say Mikayla fully yet. With that, they all left for the kitchen and we headed out of my room and down to the first floor to the cars. We pile into two black escalades as, since we are all ranking wolves, especially me being alpha, we need at least two body guards per car. They drive us into town, which is about an hour's drive, as most packs try to stay as far away from humans so we don't get caught. We do obviously still go out into town, our pack has pretty much everything we could ever need on the land, but it's still nice to get out and socialize. We own the two clubs in town as well as one of the largest hotel chains in the world, which is where most of my money revenue comes from. We arrived at Cantana Restaurant, which looks really nice. As soon as we stepped into the doors, Shaw began going absolutely bonkers in my head.

I was hit with the most amazing smell of what can be described as lemon and cream, almost like a lemon meringue pie, "I may skip lunch and go for some of that lemon pie. It smells absolutely amazing". They all look at me questionably, "What?" I ask. "Dude, what are you talking about, it smells like pasta in here" Holden says as Sam and Heather nod their heads in agreement. "What? Well, yeah, the pasta but you guys don't smell that creamy lemon smell, it makes my mouth water, even Shaw is excited about it". They all turned to me slowly with wide eyes. Thats when Shaw screams and growled in my head "MATE". Oh s**t, I thought out loud. That's when the smell hit me full force as the most beautiful woman walked up to us and asked if we had reservations. "Yes, Sam said it's under Barrett Blue" "Awesome right this way, my name is Adaline and I'll be your server today".
