3. Traded

Her P.O.V Edward passed me to another guy with tattoos across his whole arm, a crooked lip, and a cigarette in his mouth. My limp body dragged behind the man, him sending kicks my way every couple of seconds. We reached the female bathrooms, which contained one broken toilet for all of us, a shattered mirror over a rusty sink, and a shower head with no cabin. A soap was given to all of us every month, but it was small and only lasted for two showers. I had run out of mine on the second week, so now, nearing the end of the month, I smelled horrible, disgusting myself and everyone else around me. Something about The Lord has been off. For the past week, he hadn't let anyone touch me, apart from the beatings and punishments, which were my own fault anyway. Every time a man requested one of us, they let us have a quick shower, so this was my first time going this long being dirty and smelly. As I dozed off, the burning pain still shooting through my veins, I was forcefully undressed by the man. He ripped my rags off of me and stared hungrily at my now naked body, his eyes flickering to lust as he fought with his wolf about who got me first. The wolf couldn't get a turn as we only had an hour. The man had his way with me, not for the first time, and not for the last. I bit on my bruised lip, attempting to stop the screams of pain. Blood gushed out of the never closed wound on my stomach, and now from in between my legs. I knew that there were new bruises, after all, he wouldn't be gentle with a filthy slave like me. "Be quick!" He growled as he pushed me towards the shower. I stumbled back, falling on my butt and crying out in pain. He angrily looked at me and in a swift motion he was yanking me up by yet another strand of hair that remained in his hand. "Did you hear what I said?" He asked, another part of my hair still in his grip as he pulled on it. "Y-yes, s-sir!" I whimpered, not being able to take it anymore. My shaking hands turned on the freezing water as my legs barely carried my weight. Females weren't allowed warm water, it was only for the stronger gender, the one that deserved it. I used the small piece of soap he gave me and scrubbed my aching body. The water quickly turned red, but it wasn't like I, or anyone was going to do anything about it. Since we weren't allowed to take showers by ourselves, we were always observed. The men liked the show as our bodies shivered under the cold water, and they got to make sure we wouldn't find a way to escape. When I was finally somewhat clean, as clean as I could get with our three-minute limit, he passed me some new rags, that one of the girls had brought up. I put it on quickly, happy that my body was out of his hungry eyes, for now. He escorted me to our ruler's office and closed the door behind him. "Sit down!" He ordered sternly. Obviously, I obeyed. "Do you know why I called you?" I shook my head immediately. The Lord didn't like when people wasted his time or when they shoved their noses in his business and I planned on doing neither. "Of course, you wouldn't, you're a dumb slave." He laughed. "I found you a new place to live. You're no longer my problem, pack your belongings! You leave in an hour." His voice remained calm as he broke the news down to me. No, no, no I can't leave. I don't want to leave. I would be hurt and alone with not even a roof over my head. What if she returns? I need to be here in case she returns. I can't go. Tears rolled down my cheeks. "P-please don't! I-I w-want to-to stay!" I pleaded, looking at my feet. The Lord was in front of me before I could even blink, gripping my chin harshly between his fingers. "I have made my decision, slave! Whether you like it or not, you're going in an hour! You will live with the Alpha of the Blood moon pack. I'm giving him you as a trade for peace. Not that my decision was any of your business." I wanted to look up at him and tell him I wasn't going, but there was no point. At least I could get a few more hours alive. I would get to see the sun again after ten years before I died. Suddenly, a realization hit me like a ton of bricks. The Alpha of the Blood moon pack. The most feared Alpha, the Alpha, that killed anyone, who stood in his way and fed on innocent children for fun. The alpha, whose pack was renamed Blood moon because he mercilessly killed his own father. Tears rolled down my cheeks as everything went black. All I could hear were the voices in my head, screaming at me all the possible ways the merciless Alpha would hurt me. His P.O.V Earlier that day... "Alpha?" My Beta, Zane, knocked on the door before entering. "Alpha, we found them!" I looked up from my laptop to stare into his tired eyes. Both of us had been working for weeks to identify the location of the trafficking ring, that kidnapped young she-wolves. We found out way too late that the girls were somewhere on my territory. Ten and a half years after the first one was taken at barely eight years old. She was the future gamma's sister, but their family was killed during an attack on the pack. She was the only survivor, but we later got the news that she had been killed by the leader of the ring. Dahlia, Zane, Rose, and I used to all live in the packhouse and play together, while our parents attended to pack business. As much as Rosalie and I were allowed to play before we had to return to training, that is. We played until our childhoods were ripped away from us when we should have been careless and free. Ever since I found out the Trade was located somewhere in my pack, I had been sending countless search parties, but to no avail, until today. I was so ready to finally be over with the sleepless nights and return the girls to their packs so Alphas would stop bugging me every day. Their voices had begun sounding like nails on a chalkboard and it took every reign of control I had to not snap their necks every time they called to ask for updates, multiple times a day. "Prepare the warriors! We're killing every bastard participating in this s**t on Sunday. Understand?" I commanded through gritted teeth. "Yes, alpha!" The Beta answered and hurried off to fulfill my command. Few knew how terrifying I became after sleepless nights, most of them ended up dead. The Beta knew not to remain in my presence for long and hurry with what I ordered as he too feared for his life. As he should. "Alpha?" One of the warriors on patrol mind linked me. I grumbled. When would these wolves learn to do things on their own and leave me alone for once? "What do you want?" I linked back, letting my anger flow through the link. The eighteen-year-old wolf's fear flowed through, letting me know I had achieved my goal. "There was a very badly wounded girl left not too far from the border. A note was tied to her wrist, stating that this was a fair trade so you would leave the ring continue in peace. I angrily threw a glass across my office and watched it smash against the wall opposite of me. My office was pretty big so I couldn't have reached the opposite wall if it wasn't for my wolf strength. I paced around the room, desperately trying to keep my wolf from taking control. My wolf hadn't endured what I had. Although, we shared a mind and he knew everything about what I've been through I was the one that felt the pain. You get your wolf at sixteen, but when the trauma started I was only a little boy, therefore, he felt nothing. He loved his friends and family, unlike me, who loved no one and believed love never truly existed. If you ever hurt his loved ones, he would stop at nothing to watch the life drain from their faces as they dropped dead to the ground. "Alpha? What do I do?" The warrior snapped me back to reality. I clenched my jaw so hard I feared I would break it. "Take the girl to the hospital and bring me the note! Don't you have a brain to think with? Useless!" I spat into our mind link. "Don't be rude to our pack! My wolf growled in my head. About five minutes later a shaking boy entered my office, with a dirty, crumpled piece of paper. I was in front of him in seconds due to my wolf speed and snatched it from his hands mumbling a "You can leave!" and mind linking my Beta with the updates. "Alpha?" Another link. I swear this pack would drive me nuts by the time I was thirty. "What?" I asked sternly, having dealt with enough crap for a day. "One of your warriors brought a girl-" "I know, it was my order." I cut her off. "Well, Alpha, she's in horrible condition. She could die at any moment." The pack Doctor, Lucile, explained. Great, now I would have to explain to her Alpha why she died on my territory. "Knox?" My wolf called. "Not you too!" I rubbed my temples, feeling a headache coming. "There's something different about the girl. Go see her!" "I don't have time to stare at she-wolves, Kane!" With that, I pushed him to the back of my mind. "Let me know when she dies and I'll take it from there." I linked Lucile. ,,Yes, Alpha!" Once the pack was done demanding attention to never-ending problems I called my Beta to my office and we got to work, preparing a map, searching for the safest route, looking through warriors' abilities and weaknesses, and deciding who got to come, who stayed on patrol and guard duty, as well as safe places to shift, sleep and hunt, if it became necessary. Having the biggest, most respected pack had its perks, but also weaknesses. My territory was large so it could fit all the members, making traveling across territory much harder than it was for other packs, but I felt pride in my pack. My pack had the best-trained warriors, which I made sure to participate in myself. Each warrior had at least one sparing match with me and one small group training, where I taught techniques and defense mechanisms. I was also the strongest, most feared Alpha. My father would have been proud, after all, he sacrificed many lives for me to achieve such level. At least the lost lives weren't lost in vain, even if one of them was mine. Once we were done, I took a hot shower and laid in bed, exhausted. I thought that tonight sleep would come easily, but I was very wrong. This time though, it wasn't because of recalling past events, overthinking, or nightmares, it was my wolf. Kane was restless and even in the back of my mind, he still wouldn't allow me to shut my eyes. "What do you want?" I groaned, shoving a pillow over my face, with a slight hope that it would end the suffering. "Go see the girl, Knox!" Kane demanded. "Will you finally leave me alone if I go?" He projected images of himself jumping happily around like a puppy. I rolled my eyes at him, but quickly got dressed and headed to the pack hospital. "One look and I'm off to bed!" I warn him. I made my way over in under three minutes as the hospital was on the first floor of the packhouse. I passed a few wolves, who couldn't sleep, on the way and I could feel their confused stares as I passed. I could care less. All I wanted was to be under the covers with a content wolf. As I pulled the doorknob my stomach twisted into a knot. A scent I never wanted to smell. A scent I was relieved I hadn't smelled. I pushed the door open and took a look at the fragile, on the verge of death, girl in the bed. "Mate!" Kane yelled happily. "Mate." I whispered, punching a hole in the wall. A/N: Hi friends!
