“Is he ignoring us?”
Guo Lin was puzzled from not getting the response he expected. This might be the chance to get them out of here, or at least he didn’t want to stay in the closed room waiting for death here any longer.
“Is there some kind of virus leaked? People had gone crazy!”
“If I know all this would happen, I hadn’t come over.”
“Someone must be plotting against us. I didn’t want to die.”
“Offer him money to asked us to get out of here.”
Many guests had come to the event, almost all of them were upperclassmen, since when they had encountered this kind of gore and death of humans so close.
Even facts were laid before their eyes, they don’t want to believe them. Hoping it’s a dream or prank to get out from this hell.
“Don’t worry my father was the director of the police department. When he knew about the situation, he would definitely come over.”
A young man with an expensive suit said with a calm expression.
“Had your brain damaged greenhouse seedling, can’t you see the thunderstorm and bizarre red rainfall all over the city? We can’t even sure if only this city was subjected to this phenomenon. And all of you too stopped complaining and think about getting us out from here rather than opening your annoying mouth.”
A heavy-built man said while lighting his cigarette. His mocking harsh voice was filled with ridicule to them.

The young man was embarrassed after being called greenhouse seedling. But he didn’t dare to reply after seeing who was that man and the black handgun attached to his belt. Same with other people around there were mentally unstable from this event but they didn’t want to provoke this man.
“Isn’t he Xie Feng?”
An old man wearing a blue construction worker uniform stood up to saw at the crane operator cabin.
His puzzled voice caught the attention of Guo Lin standing not far side window.
“Old Wang, did you know that man out there?”
The old man stands back from the sudden question.
“I only catch the glimpse.” He said while lowering his head.
“Then see again and confirm if you know him, asked him to help us get out of here. If he could reward were waiting for him and of course you too.”
“There was no need manager, We were all in a death situation-”
“It’s fine, We were in a death situation that’s why we need help. Old wang you are the oldest member of our team. I leave it to you.”
Guo Lin said while grabbing Wang Shi’s shoulder, he doesn’t want any nonsense during this hour. The beating on doors increasing every minute, who knows how long it could hold. If they could make it alive, no reward was bigger than his life.
Old wang seems to understand the current situation, he too didn’t to met his end here, he had to live for his family.
“Alright, manager, I will try to convince him.”
Old wang said as he clenched his fists.
“Good!”
Seeing his determination, Guo lin said nothing more. Could get out of here and contact the defense authorities as soon as possible is all he thinking of.
Wang Shi again darted his eyes to the cabin and recognize Xie Feng with more seeing him this time.
“Xie Feng are you there?”
Sitting inside and look down at the increasing number of zombies, Xie Feng was thinking about what to do next.

Fuck, Wang Shi was his neighbor and his benefactor who helped them in their bad time when his family break apart. Old wang also was one of the oldest construction workers in their team. He was the one who recommended Xie Feng to got the job here, if not how could the manager trust just a twenty years old man to do the hard labor diligently and carry responsive duties.

The windows they were near, are big enough to exit through them for three people.
“Please Save me, I will give you millions, save me.”
Gang Lan shouted desperately, he was a rich man who hosts upperclassman events. He had enough money to lived the rest of his life as he like. He didn’t hesitate to give his wealth for a bargain.
“Don’t shout, You will attract zombies.”
Xie Feng shouted back to them. He felt irritation he never felt before. If he went to save them and zombies breached the room they were in then they were finished so will he.
“What! Voice attract them.”
People get shocked after hearing this, they were holding the door supporting with furniture and zombies beating it continuously and the reason was their loud voice.
“Did he know something”
Guo Lin pushed Gang Lan aside and shouted.
“What do you mean?”

Xie Feng noticed zombies running towards the wall, gathering below their window.

“Don’t shout, and say anything. Keep your emotions calm, they have a sharp hearing”
He already had warned them if they didn’t comply it would not end well.
“He was saying to not made any noises.”
Guo Lan informed everyone present inside. By connecting dots, he could make sense of how zombies beating outside increase by every minute.
“Will he come helping us?”
The silent lady on the sofa asked in a slow voice.
“He didn’t deny miss.” The heavy build man said taking out his pistol. “If not we have to find our own way to leave from here”

A sudden loud engine running noise came catching everyone’s attention.
“Look Look the crane moved, It’s moving in our direction.”
Wang Shi’s voice attracts them to look outside.
Xie Feng made up his mind to save old wang from there that means he had to save others too. He had no idea how long the door they were holding could stand.
It’s better to act fast. He pointed the key up chugged in its hole. The engine made a loud noise and the operating light turned on.
*Grrrr* *Howlll* *Aghh*
Angry savage all kinds of noises resound the whole area bringing up zombies the way ahead.
“Let’s get over this.”
Operating the crane swiftly he brought the bonded platform below to the second floor.

“What the—!!!”
The red rain starts pouring again bringing wild winds with it. The platform swing side by side losing its stability. The clashing thunder struck up in the sky sending shivering up to everyone’s backbone.
“We were doomed.”
Standing near the window Gang Lan’s mind filled with despair, drops of rainwater started soaking him red.
Sensing the changed weather zombies outside start howling madly like rainwater charging them up.
“Bring the platform fast!”
The heavy build man shouts, but his voice disappears with the wind.
Xie Feng controlled the cable at his best but the wind is moving it losing its position again and again. The remaining drums and things on the platform already dropped on the ground from its impact.
“Things would not do this way, Somone grab one of the ropes to hold it stable.”
The heavy build man grabbed the rope attached to it and the other two men hurriedly support him to keep its hold.
“Go! Go! Go!”
Guo Lin went first, accompanied by Wang Shi and Gang Lan as these three were the nearest to it. Seeing it other people also start moving to the platform, the heavy rainfall on them like a sharp needle.
“Miss move fast the platform will not hold so many people.”
The words of the heavy build man turned to deaf ears, he turned to look back and saw the young lady’s eyes looked at the injured man wearing a navy suit.
In this chaotic situation, there was no time for taking care of an injured man. But the next thing he could say he saw something horrible.
The man lying on the floor twitched violently. His facial expressions were distorted and his grey eyes piercing at her. His body starts shaking but his eyes didn’t leave the young lady.
“Miss hurry leave from here!”
The repeated loud shouting awaken the lady from her stance and fear struck her mind. She didn’t look back and run to jump directly on the platform.
Everyone sparing the three men holding rope already moved to the platform.
“Ahhhh, Save me-”
A pained voice from the last man behind them came, they turned to saw a pair of grey hands holding him tight.
Those were his last words as the zombie bite his neck tearing the large piece of flesh in his mouth.
Seeing this scene the heavy build man abandoned the other one and directly jumped into the platform. the sudden loss of strength to hold the rope makes the swinging platform more unstable.
“Hurry move us from here.”
The man’s voice came as Xie Feng move the platform away. He already saw the transformed zombie attacking inside. But luck was not on their side this time.
One of the ropes holding the platform ripped and almost half of the people on it lose their balance to fall straight into the crowd of zombies.
The pleading and shouting resound. The one who falls down circled around by zombies, their body ripped into pieces in few seconds.
Some brave ones didn’t care about it and hurriedly climb up through the iron jib.
Xie Feng sees the upcoming people one by one. He turned the platform in another direction away from the surrounded area near the side construction pit.
After turn off the crane, ease his mind a little.
He observed again but didn’t see that familiar figure and blocked a man’s hand who was going past him.
“Wait, where is old Wang?”
The hand he grabbed was of Guo Lin.
“Old Wang, you mean Wang Shi, he was still on the platform, his leg was tucked in ropes.”
“What!?”
Xie Feng darted his eyes on the platform to see old wang was hanging on it and struggling to free from roped on his leg.
“You want to go there, do you want to suicide? Even if you go there who knows if the rope could hold your weight anymore. It’s better to leave here.”
Guo Lin was grateful to this man who helped them to get out of there, he was not an ungrateful person and gave a bit of advice.
Xie Feng clenched his fists, he looked straight at Wang shi a figure hanging on a rope in the middle air, below there was a dark slanted pit filled with gravels.
“He could still be saved.”
Without waiting for any response Xie Feng walked through the jib.
“Fool.”
Guo Lin turned back and went to the other side to leave his area. He no longer stays to see the next situation.
Xie Feng hated those people who were leaving the place one by one. The only reason he went to save them so Old Wang could be saved. But these bunch didn’t even consider helping those who were stuck near them.
The storming wind crashed on his body, fluttering his clothes. He can’t see clearly as the heavy rainfall blocking his vision. He bowed down moving forward while holding the crane neck.
He reached the end of it and hold the rope tied.
“Old Wang, I am moving you up. Hold the rope tight.”
Wang Shi who was struggling to move free shocked.
“Xie Feng, leave from here.”
“Just hold uptight.”
Xie Feng uses his whole strength to lift him upwards. And slowly able to move it.
Seeing the effort he was making Wang Shi didn’t talk anymore and focus on lifting his body up.
In few minutes he could see Xie Feng’s figure a meters apart. The heavy windblown shaking the rope. The rope was swinging too violently almost leaving his hand.
Xie Feng holds the hand of Wang Shi at the last moment preventing him from falling.
“Old Wang!”
“Xie Feng, leave me and run.”
“What are you saying old wang, we will get out from here together.”

Suddenly the red lightning strike crane and the rope they were holding breakdown leaving them without support as they both fall into the pit below.
