SONG FOR THIS CHAPTER FLOWER-SEO IN GUK CHAPTER THREE RONAN The next morning, James and I went to the School bus stop again and I didn’t notice that I was waiting for Ellora. And when she came and she saw us it was as if she didn't know what to do but she just continued walking towards us because she saw I had already seen her. She stand next to us without saying her famous line “Good morning.” She’s quite and reserved. “Good morning, Ellora.” I was the one who greeted her first. She looks at me and just smiled sadly. When the school bus arrived, she did not sit beside James. It was as if the Ellora I had known for a week had disappeared. So I sit next to her and she looked at me. But I pretended not to know what was on her mind. I know she wanted to be friends, but she’s too good to follow her Father’s command. “I can’t be friends with you.” She said so sad. So I knew he really wanted to be my friend. And honestly, I wanted her too. Because despite the fact that other people look at her weird and different, I notice how smart and deep Snow white’s mind is. That if you dwell to read what is going to her mind, you will get drowned. “How come?” I asked her pretending not to know the answer. “Because my father said so.” She bow her head and continue to fidget her nails. “Okay.” I was about to stand up when she hold my hands and stopped me. I looked at her. “You can sit here. The bus is moving.” She said so thoughtfully. So I sighed and smiled then keep on sitting next to her. “You are so annoying.” I told her. “But you wanted to be my friend.” She smiled. And I nods. “Can I Asked You A Question?” “Why do I have this feeling that even if I said no, you will still asked anyway?” I laughed. “What did you like about James?” “Uhm. He’s handsome and kind.” She blushed. “Really?” I asked her. “That’s all?” She nods. “Yeah. Shouldn’t love be that simple?” I shook my head. “No. I guess not. It should be deep and making sense.” “So you telling me that my reason for liking James doesn’t make any sense?” She asked full of confusion. I nods. “Yeah, But that’s just what I think.” “Ugh. Never mind. The important is what I feel and James'.” She smiled dreamily. “My advice is stop being annoying.” I smiled. “Believe me, I’m trying. It’s as if it’s just in me naturally.” She waved her hands dramatically and I laughed. “And start dressing according to your age.” There is nothing wrong with Ellora’s clothes but she looks young in her dresses. I think because there is no mother who guides her the way she needs to be dressed. And she got used to only her Dad taking care of her. But either way, Ellora still looks magnificent no matter what she’s wearing. Oh, did I just say magnificent? Yeah. Of course, as a friend. There’s nothing wrong in complementing your friends. Right? “Am I not pretty enough for James?” she pouts. And I looked at her. The way the sun cascades on her features and make her pale whit skin glow is a beautiful thing to see. My chest wanted to burst just by looking at her. My friend. I clear my throat. “You are.” I looked at her and she’s smiling big. “A little bit.” She chuckle “Okay. At least you say, I am pretty.” “I am not.” I laughed. “You are.” She smiles. Just a friend, right? Our time here in Nashville has been fast. And everything became easy and beautiful for me because of my new friends, Including my secret friend, Ellora. It’s been three months since we moved here to Nashville and it seems like I’ve lived here a long time. Now, I can call this place a home. Ellora and I became friends but we could not talk often because Reverend Sullivan was always watching over her. I can’t blame him, because Ellora followed my tips on change her styles in clothes. And I immediately want to changed my tips because as soon as Ellora bought new dresses. She looks more beautiful than ever. She learned to use her imagination in choosing new clothes that surely makes her more perfect. There’s nothing wrong in complementing a friend, right? James still hasn’t noticed her and I don’t know if I’m thankful. Is it normal to be jealous? I don’t know. Too young to know what this was. The longer we stay here in Nashville, the more I feel that Dad’s enemies are growing because of his leadership. Obviously, Dad was often angry and hot -tempered with all his staff. And he increased our security around the house even more. But not once was I scared. Because Nashville is my home now. “Don’t worry and I won’t let anything bad happen to our family. We’re just talking about safety precautions because you know how my political opponents think.” Dad said while we were eating Dinner with Mom. Mom squeezed his hands and smiled at him warmly. “We trust in you, Ben.” Dad kissed her “I know.” Dad sighed. “Son, you can take a rest. School is early tomorrow.” “You too, Dad.” That’s my cue to go straight forward on my bedroom. When I arrived at my bed room I immediately saw Ellora at her window busy doing her homework, I know. She’s too diligent in her studies to do school works this time. I wrote the word Weird on my blackboard. Ellora and I used to talk this way two months ago. I whistle to gather her attention and she looked at me immediately and read the words I wrote and she laughs. She scribble something on her white board and turn for me to read it. She said: Lazy. Then I laughed. She waved her hands on me and gave me a flying kiss. Then turned her light off. I pretend to grab her kiss and look at my hands contemplating on what I would do to the kiss she just gave me.
