Four

(Sapphire's POV)

I pulled at the silky ropes, my body twisting on the smooth sheets like a snake, anticipation build inside of me the more I waited for him.

A wet tongue slid down my neck, making it feel even more erotic. The tongue slid down my collarbone, sliding between the valley of my breast before coming to an abrupt stop. 

My back arched when a hot mouth enclosed around my n****e, canines tugged at my sensitive n*****s, making me whimper.

"Ahhh", I gasped as my eyes fluttered open. The ache between my legs reminded me of the erotic dream I've just have. I shivered unconsciously when I remembered the dream. 

Instead of dwelling on my dream, I got up and got ready for the Alpha duties. There is no time for me to get distracted with the thoughts of my mate. 

Today the shitty Alpha from the neighbouring pack is coming to discuss the contract, so I opted for the business look. I pared brown high waisted pant with white top and brown plaid jacket. To complete the look I added a brown belt and wore brown heeled boots. 

I decided against makeup and for my hair, I let them free in their natural wavy state. Once I was ready, I headed to the kitchen to grab breakfast.

Little pups littered all around the kitchen, waiting for their morning treats. I picked up an apple and munch on it. I don't have much time for a full-blown breakfast. I ate as fast as possible and threw the waste into a bin. 

Alpha Jacob is here. Beta Issac informed me through the mind link. 

Take him to my office. I ordered as I made my way to the office. It didn't take long for Beta Issac to bring Alpha Jacob to my office. 

"Finally I got the chance to you, Sapphire. I must say you truly live up to my expectations, beautiful", my anger flared at his every word. He is refusing to recognise me as an Alpha.

"It's Alpha Sapphire to you, Jacob", I mockingly said his name. It's a disrespect to call other Alpha without their title. My words must have got to him because his face morphed into a rage and he growled at me. 

"Are you mad that I called you by your name? If so then kindly remember you were the one to disrespect me first before you do something that can possibly cause a war", I said coldly to him before taking the seat. I no longer care if I offend him more than I already am. 

"The deal is off", he growled in anger and made his way towards the gates. Beta Issac glared at me and I raised a brow at him, daring him to question my authority. He knows what's better for him as he averted his eyes.

"Oh, before you go out Alpha Jacob I must remind you, you're the one who's in the dire need of food and water, and only my pack territory is close enough from your pack and can provide you. So, before you step out of this office you'd want to reconsider", I casually commented and looked through the file. I have much more important work to do than deal with a hot-headed Alpha. 

Alpha Jacob stopped abruptly and after a moment or two, he begrudgingly made his way back into the office and sat down in the seat across of me. 

"Let's talk about the lands first. Give me some of your lands for a few years and once the food problem is solved I will return it", he rubbed his hands as he commented. I internally scoffed at him. Does it look like I'm a fool? I know too well that he'll never return the pack land. 

"Look here Alpha Jacob, the only one here who needs this deal badly is you, so you'll have to deal with our conditions. With that being said I want twice the original price of the good, if you refuse with our conditions then you can kindly show yourself out", I said without breaking the eyes contact. Alpha Josh glared me, he never thought that I'm not some weak, naive girl he can fool. Most importantly his foolishness costed him twice. 

I know he won't refuse the deal even if I cost him twice because he knows at this time only my pack can help him and he isn't in conditions to make any demands. 

"I'll send you the new contract", Alpha Jacob finally growled out and stood up. There is no way in hell he'll stay in the same room as mine, especially after I played him so well. He willingly got into my trap and his male ego is hurt. 

"It was nice doing business with you Alpha Jacob. However, don't worry, I've prepared the contract beforehand", I said sweetly and pulled out the contract I've prepared in advance. 

Alpha Jacob plopped his ass back down and read the contract. After making sure I'm not trying to get more money out of him, he signed the contract. I've signed it beforehand so I don't have to sign. I gave one copy to him and keep the other with me. 

I sighed in relief when Alpha Jacob left immediately after signing the contract and Beta Issac showed him off.

It's time. I commented sadly as I looked up at the time. Today is the burial ceremony for the pack members who were killed in the attack. 

I got up and made my way towards the burial ground. All members were already present, waiting for my arrival. 

Sadness hung heavily in the air. Everyone has their heads hung low, silently praying for the dead ones.

Heartbreaking sobs rang lowly in the air from the family members of the dead as they watched their loved ones buried in the ground. 

I felt their pain through the link and my heart shivered. They didn't deserve to lose their mate, their parents, their children. No one deserves the pain of losing someone so close to them. 

What made my heart hurt painfully was a child, no more than six years old, crying his heart out near the dead bodies of his parents. He is an orphan now. I want to go to him, console him, hug him to my chest but my feet stayed glued to the ground. How can I console them when the one who caused all this heartache to my pack members is none other than my mate? 

I watched as the pack members tried to console the child, pulling him away from the dead bodies of his parents. This gave me one more reason to hate him.

(Maverick's POV)

Hidden behind the trees I watched the pack closely. Everyone has joined together to bury the dead body of their pack members. Excitement bubbled inside of me as I know I'll get to see her. 

No longer than the thought crossed my mind, her smell hit me, nearly intoxicating me. I looked into the direction from where the smell is coming and my breath hitched in my throat. 

Magnificent. That's the only word to describe her. She strolled confidently, a noble aura surrounded her. Her platinum blonde hairs flowed in the air. I felt the urge to run my fingers into them, untangling them. 

Her eye, the deepest shade of blue, protected by her naturally long lashes. Her lip, the brightest shade of red. I can almost feel myself nibbling on them. 

The business suit did nothing to hide her delicious curves. Her is not too big, just perfect and will fit perfectly under my palms, her waist is tiny, not in a petite way and her hips flared. My eyes zeroed on her ass, they're perfect and they'll be perfect to be painted a beautiful shade of red. I longed to stroke every bumps and dip of her gorgeous body. My wolf whined inside of my head, wanting to go to our mate and take all her pain away but I know that's not possible, at least not now. 

With a heavy heart, I retreated. I'll give her the time she needs before I come back to claim her.
