Eric POV "Please release me. I don't want to pass away "In front of my father Valor, the wolf girl pleaded. My heart was pounding as a result of her pleadings. As dad sucked her power, I shifted my gaze to the opposite side. Her agonising screams reverberated around the room until she exhaled her final breath. My father is the ruler of the Crepuscule realm. Vampires and sinister powers rule this region. Even though he was the king and the most powerful vampire, he was unsatisfied. He want more power to control over the entire realm. Because my father solely trusted me, I did this in secret. If anyone finds out, the crepuscule realm will turn against him. "Eric, Are you planning on attending college? ", my father inquired, his brows furrowed. I whispered, "Yes, dad." He was peering in his magical ball,"Good now you can go," he said, before returning to his magical ball. I strolled out of his room, humming regretfully. The shame of trapping the wolf girl weighed heavily on my mind. Every time, I managed to entangle a different type of girl in my phoney love or friendship. Then I flung them in front of my father, and the heaviness in my heart grew with each death. When I entered my room, I was greeted by my best friend Lockwood. Playing with his wind powers while lying in bed. "How was your father's dinner?" he sarcastically inquired. I replied with a roar and shoved him out of my bed. He shook his shoulders and slid into a seat on the couch. I took down the drapes from the bulletin board where I had hung the target photo. "I told you to bring additional information about incoming college students," I grumbled. He rolled his eyes, and a light breeze blew through the room, moving the images and documents inside. "Stop it, Victor," I cried, and the photographs and documents were automatically put on the board. "Are you finished?" I asked, furrowing my brows. "Yes, Eric," he smirked, knowing exactly how to aggravate and deal with me. I looked at the photographs on the board to decide on the next prey, as my father had requested that I bring the prey back from college. A dart landed on the board unexpectedly. "She is half-wolf and half-vampire. She possessed the ability to manipulate emotions "Victor, my step-brother, expressed his thoughts. I took out the arrow and hurled it back at him. I said coldly, "I don't need your information, Victor." Despite the fact that we are brothers, we had a strained connection. He tried and failed to pull me down in front of my father's eyes. We both despise each other. He scrambled all the photographs with his teleporting abilities. I looked at him, then cornered him closer to the wall, striking the darts surrounding his body with my gravitational strength. As each dart lands around him, his eyes spark with terror. "Never mess with me," I grinned as I yanked him free. He moaned in anguish as he thudded to the ground. He exited the room in a flash. He may have teleporting abilities that he has yet to master, but he could not stand in front of my abilities. I take the dart out of the wolf girl's image. I couldn't kill her because she had a nice family, not because Victor recommended it. Dad would either give me the target or ask me to fetch any prey. I always picked up prey who didn't have a family or who were evil. I am ruthless, but I understand the importance of family. Lockwood speculated, "He might tell your dad about this girl." I swung back to face him and said, ""He isn't brave enough to go against me," Lockwood said, nodding his head and pointing to a photo of a female in a black jacket with crimson eyes. "She is a full-blooded vampire and a rogue." Jasmine is her name, and she has the ability to control ice." "Are you sure she doesn't have any family members?" I questioned, nodding my head. He rubbed his chin, puzzled, and replied, "Yes, I have watched her for a few days to make sure." "We need to keep a close eye on the female Victor recommended to us. He has the potential to harm that young lady. Just for the sake of amusement ", I expressed my concern to him. "I have my doubts as well. Her first day of college is tomorrow ", he said, his gaze falling on the girl's photograph. I sensed a sense of concern in his speech for that girl. "Can you tell me her name?" I inquired. "Lucy is her name," he said, averting his gaze back to me. "But how can we keep an eye on Lucy and Jasmine at the same time?" he said after a little pause. I said, "I'll keep an eye on Lucy, and you'll keep an eye on Jasmine." I don't want to endanger her life in any way. I can't stand by and watch a family suffer. Victor may put his depravity to the test and overcome Lockwood. My mind went blank and I felt a vibration throughout my body. Then, through mindlink, I received a message from my father. "Come here right now, Eric, with images of the college's new pupils. I'd like to picture myself as the next victim. For me, you selected,"he said while commanding me. His demand made my heart beat faster. Lockwod inquired, "What happened?" "Dad called me with the new student's pictures to choose his next prey," I explained slowly. I'm hoping he doesn't pick a family girl as his prey this time. Even though I don't want to kill her, I have no choice but to do so in order to please my father. The load on my heart would grow heavier, and the family would cry along with the girl's scream.
