Declare her madman

“Ah”, Anna shouted in terror.

“What a scary dream”, Anna said and was relieved to think that everything was just a nightmare. She just can’t believe she had such a miserable dream maybe she is in so much frustration and sorrow that she dreamed such a nightmare.

She sighed, pulled her quilt “hiss” she felt a pain on the back of her right hand that was pulling the quilt. She looked at it and found a cannula inserted in her veins, it was linked with an IV tube that was linked with an IV bag that was hanging beside her bed. She thought ‘Am I sick but I don’t remember being sick or was the nightmare’, her heart skipped a beat she quickly checked her both wrists but there wasn’t any bandage or cut mark. She thought ‘It means that it wasn’t real it was a nightmare but something is not right, why my hands look so thin and paled and filled with dirt. What happened to my cute manicure.’. She raised her head and looked around in the room and became more confused, she thought, ‘Where am I this isn’t my room nor hospital what is this pathetic place.’. She stood up didn’t dare to pull the drip out of her hand as she is really scared of pain after experience it’s the worse form in her nightmare, she looked around suddenly she froze, she was looking straight in a broken dressing table mirror. She touches the face in a daze and thought, ‘This isn’t me who is she. What happened to her face how she became so ugly’.

Anna can’t believe her eyes the girl in the mirror was nothing like her, she was wearing old-fashioned loose clothes, her hairs were oily, her skin was pale, and had dark circles. Anna can’t bear it she the beauty queen of the Y City can’t bear the sight of this ugly girl. She thought, ‘How can I look like this or this isn’t a mirror, yeah that’s right it must be a window connected to another room this girl must be standing in next room’. She walked forward ignored the pain she felt on her hand when the drip pulled out and touched the mirror, she can’t believe what she is doing the girl in the mirror was mimicking her every move. She panicked and started shouting, ‘That can’t be me no it’s not me No who are you”.

She was shouting in panic when someone pushes the room door walked in with a gloomy face, “What are you shouting about i***t?”, the one who came in was a middle-aged woman. Anna can feel hatred in her tone.

Anna wasn’t someone who can take people’s bullsh*t, she roared back, “Who the hell are you?”.

The woman sneered, “Rita, are you done with your drama? You brat you made us all wake whole night to search for your whereabouts than to treat you. And now finally when we can rest for a while you started making trouble again. Can’t you just shut your mouth and sleep for a while or do you want me to ask a doctor to give you an injection to make you sleep?”

Anna startled, such an annoying woman, she wants to fight back, she thought, ‘But wait she called me Rita’.

“What you just called me?”, Anna asked carefully.

The woman became annoyed, “What you forgot your name? are you going to fake amnesia? Let me tell you, Rita, no matter what you do you have to marry Jackson Brown. I won’t let you runaway this time. Your fake suicide attempts can’t change anything”.

‘What fake suicide attempts?’, Anna thought.

The woman noticed her wired behaviour, she thought, ‘What’s with this i***t now. She isn’t smart enough to fake amnesia. Could it be that she really doesn’t remember anything?’. “Wait you lie down I’ll ask the doctor to check you”, the woman said and quickly ran out to call the doctor.

Anna was still confused, she looked at herself in the mirror and thought, ‘What’s going on?’. Suddenly she thinks of something and started looking around for something, she found a laptop at the study table, she quickly turned it on but it was locked she has to enter the password but she doesn’t know the password, she stood up and start searching again and found a remote control of the TV. She turned it on and went straight to the news channel.

As soon as the news channel flash, she froze, she can’t believe what she was seeing. A piece of breaking news was running on the channel, “The beauty queen of Y city committed suicide because her father imprisoned her, her both hands wrists were cut, she died because of blood loss before the rescue team reached the crime scene”. She saw some people were dragging out a stretch a body covered in the bag was placed on it. Isabella was rushing towards the stretch and crying miserably what a great actor, Victor was also there standing like a disheartened lover. She finally realized that what she experienced was not a nightmare but reality, but she still can’t understand how she ended in this ugly body, oh wait her father. She looked at the TV and searched for her father but he wasn’t in the scene where is he, does he know about her dead, is he safe.

Anna was still looking at the TV screen in a daze when the middle-aged woman came back with a doctor and a nurse, there were a middle-aged man and a girl who will be two to three years older than Anna.

Seeing Anna watching such news the doctor frowned, “Mr. Wilson the patient's health isn’t well. She is going throw trauma watching such news will make her condition worse”.

Hearing him the middle-aged man panicked walked towards Anna grabbed the remote and turned off the TV. Then he caressed her head and said with concern, “Honey how are you?”.

Anna was touched by his concern, he reminded her of her father. She didn’t reply to him just watched him with softness.

“What’s wrong why you are not talking? You ran away jumped in the river almost died and made us worry now you are acting like an innocent child is it of any use. Just to cancel the marriage you did so much drama.”, a girl said with a straight face.

Hearing her words the middle-aged man’s expressions changed, with a cold face he scolds Anna, “Rita you must stop messing around Jackson Brown is the most wanted rich bachelor of the Y city every girl dreams to marry him if people know that you are willing to die than marrying him people will laugh on you.”

Anna was shocked of course she knows Jackson Brown is a big shot of Y City, almost all her girl-friends admire him and wanted to hook up with him but that man is a coldblooded animal he loved to play with girls but he never gave any girl a chance to be his wife. She thought, ‘How can such a playboy is willing to marry such a naïve girl.'.

Anna was dazed, the middle-aged man started worrying about her health he asked the doctor, “She is acting normal quickly check her”.

The doctor nodded and came forward to check her, after the physical checkup, he was sure her body was fine, “Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?”.

Anna shook her head.

“Do you know who are you?”, the doctor carefully asked.

Anna was about to tell him that she is Anna Acker daughter of Liam Acker, but she stopped herself she remembered what she saw on TV the Anna Acker is dead for the world if she told him that she is Anna Acker he will declare her madman.

Seeing her struggling, the doctor said, “It’s ok if you don’t remember don’t put pressure on yourself you’ll remember everything slowly.”

Anna looked at him blankly, she thought, “Does he think I have amnesia. Yeah that’s good idea amnesia will cover her truth”.

“I I don’t know who I am what’s my name? why what’s wrong with me?”, Anna grabbed her hair and asked with worries.

“It’s ok don’t think just rest for a while. Ok”, the doctor said to him and urge her to lie down.

Anna lied down silently, closed her eyes.
