Matthew Castillo had never noticed Devvy Precious Quiroz before. But one day when she accidentally bumped into him in the school, he found himself looking intently at her as an old memory suddenly flashed on his mind—the first girl he'd accidentally kissed when he was watching a night concert held in the school last school year. He believed she was that girl so he had himself drawn closer to her. Eventually, he fell for her.

Devvy Precious Quiroz hated bad boys but to her surprise, she found herself liking the popular, handsome heartbreaker Matthew Castillo. As the line in between them got closer, her feelings for him deepened.

What would he do if he was right about his first kiss? What if he was wrong? And what would she do if she found out the truth about the bad boy's first kiss? Would their hearts be the same after knowing the truth? Or would they end their bond as their characters were incompatible? Or maybe the love they had for each other would drive them to more happiness?

Chapter 1
THE BAD BOY’S FIRST KISS   CHAPTER 1   DEVVY’S POV   “OH, people on the earth… I can't stand it anymore…" the words that came out from my mouth. Nobody got to hear that, though, because that was almost a whisper, and the classroom was so noisy. And currently, it is still loud. My classmates are very loud.   I decided to get my Mathematics notebook from my bag and my pen, phone, and headphones. I stood up and walked out of our classroom.   I was searching for somewhere peaceful, but my feet brought me to the park—to the Mathematics Park, particularly. There was no one around the park. I placed my things on one of the outdoor school tables, and I sat on the seat.   I saw some students walking and playing in the field, which was slightly far from the Mathematics Park. The noise from there was just minimal; it could not disturb me here.   I grabbed my phone and clicked something to connect it with the headphones that I quickly put over my head and ears. Then I started playing a specific song while answering my assignment in Mathematics. As far as I could remember, it will be passed tomorrow, so I should finish this now. I have a one-hour vacant time this afternoon, so I should spend it wisely and not waste it by staying in our classroom just to watch my classmates.   I’m the type of girl who doesn't mingle that much, but I could socialize so normally when I have to. I love reading books that I find interesting and listening to and singing mellow songs when no one's around. Some say that I'm a nerd because I wear thick glasses sometimes. However, I don’t wear it anymore when I heard that thing from my fellow students. That time I wore it was that I thought it as a fashion. Never did I think that they’d call me like that. I still have a good vision, anyway. I could even see my crush from a far distance. Just kidding!   Last school year, I transferred from my old school to the school where I am studying now—at Sorrentine Bright High School. No reason at all. I just moved here—just that. I am currently a fourth-year high school student. About my other information and stuff, you will get to know it soon.   I smiled upon hearing the song “First Kiss” by Kid Rock. Oh, I love this song. I think it is the only song that is different from the songs that I have in my playlist. This one is joyous, while the rest of the songs in my playlist are mellow, smooth, or sad.   This song reminds me of my first kiss—the first kiss that was accidentally stolen by some random guy when I was watching a night concert held in this school last school year. I could not really remember his face. I had not clearly seen his face because, at that time, it was a bit dark. Only the moonlight and some lights were present at that time. But I really do think he was handsome. Yes, he was handsome. I could tell it from his body figure, his physique.   I didn’t and still don't feel hate toward him despite what had happened, though. It was accidental, but I wish I could see him again. I just want to know who my first kiss was. However, a part of me found that kiss special, maybe because that was my first kiss.   For clarification, it was not a kiss on the lips but a kiss on the cheek. Still, I considered it as my first kiss because that was my first kiss from a guy.   I was singing along with the song for a while when I stopped a few moments later when I noticed two girls, who were already seated opposite me. Then they clapped their hands happily after I removed my headphones and put it beside my notebook.   “What’s up, girls?” I asked when they stopped clapping. They are my best friends, Mikayla and Yannie.   “Wow, Dev! We didn’t know you have such a lovely voice!” Mikayla exclaimed cheerfully, not answering my greetings to them.   “Yeah, right!” Yannie agreed. “That was the first time we heard you sing!”   I blushed at their compliments. Even when they are my best friends, they haven’t heard me sing yet. And just a few moments ago, they finally heard me sing. I did not even notice their presence.   “Did I sing the song aloud?” I asked, feeling shy.   They both nodded. “Can you sing again, Dev? I’m so amazed. Please…” Yannie begged.   But I quickly shook my head. “No, no. Just keep it to yourself. Just think you didn’t hear me sing. Okay?” I told them.   “You have a talent, Dev. Your voice should be heard,” Mikayla uttered. “Watch out. That fantastic talent might fade away if you waste that. I bet you won’t like that. Right? We’ll do something with that. Leave it to us.” Her brows bobbed up and down.   I reviewed their faces as they grinned. “What’s that? You’re making me nervous. What are you up to, huh? Better not do anything that involves me or else..." I trailed off, giving them death glares.   I know these two. They are crazy—not in destructive ways, of course. Just some craziness. They think the same. Something unexpected may happen to me without me knowing it. It feels like an impromptu that I am not ready to face.   “Just ready yourself, Dev. As usual, you don’t know what and when it will happen, but you'll like it for sure, just like before." Yannie winked at me, and they giggled. I swear it sent shivers of nervousness through my system. Gosh! These two... I will be dragged into their craziness once more.   The bell rang, so I chose to forget what they said. Maybe they were just kidding around, or they will change their minds. They are fickle-minded sometimes.   I picked up my things, and we stood up and left the park.   We were about to enter our classroom when we heard a guy who called my name. The three of us stopped and looked to our backs.   “Hey, Dev!” It was Hunter, and he was now walking toward our direction with one hand at his back. From his look, I think he was holding something.   Mikayla and Yannie nudged me slightly when I did not respond. “H-hello…”   “I have something for you,” Hunter said. He stopped in front of us.   Everyone who was looking at us and has heard him was surprised.   “What is it? Do you really need to give that now? Classes will start now since the bell already rang," I told him with a respectful tone in my voice. Hunter is a bad boy and is one of the bad boys here on the campus, so I should be careful.   It felt so awkward. A lot of students were watching us. I suddenly felt my cheeks heating up. Hunter is a handsome guy. However, girls that I bet are his fangirls were now glaring at me. It is really a big deal talking to him. The girls might block me outside the gate just to tweak my hair if I flirt with Hunter. I am not flirting, anyway.   “My mom told me to hand this to you. She forgot to give it to your mom, Denny.” Hunter showed me the key.   A key?   I took the key from him. “Thank you. I’ll tell my mom about this.”   “Tell her also that my family and yours will have fine dining soon. Mom will send her the details when she has done with the business trip to Hong Kong. I hope you'll come, Dev.”   “Okay,” I simply said.   “You’ll come. If not, I’ll assume you have a crush on me. Bye, Dev.” He suddenly winked at me, and his fangirls almost killed me with their sharp glares.   "What the hell..." I muttered.
