My alarm clock started to beep. Which made me fully awake in one full second.
That thing is much too loud!
But then again, reminding me that sometimes, that was exactly what I needed to wake up. I forced myself to stand up, looking down and seeing I was still wearing my leggings and hoodie, shrugging and deciding to just keep it on to go to the hospital. I walked inside the living room, seeing Lori was still snoring like a pig, lying on the sofa in a very weird position.
“MORNING!” I screamed as I opened the fridge, seeing her jump in the corner of my eye.
“For f**k's sake Elizabeth, you almost gave me a heart attack!” She growled as she looked at me, mad. “Well good, then maybe I can use your heart for my patient.” I grinned at her as I took out the milk, filling myself a glass. Lori sighed hard as she rolled her eyes and stood up, walking towards her bedroom. After a few minutes, she came out, looking somewhat the same way as me, with a pair of leggings, a hoody and a bad hair day. I grinned as I picked out a piece of toast I had just baked for the two of us.
“Look at us, rocking the leggings club.” Lori grinned, finally looking like she was actually awake, pulling out the bowl of Nutella as she started to dip her toast in it.
The woman has the manners of a cave man!
“We truly are the cool chicks.” She agreed with me, almost pushing her toast inside of her mouth in one go before she turned and ran for the bathroom. I followed her as we brushed our teeth together, brushing our hair and putting them together, before we both put on our shoes.
“Oh, I’ll be right behind you.” I told Lori, to which she nodded and started her way down. I bit my lip while I was thinking. And before I knew it, my body was running back towards the bathroom, where I found myself quickly applying some make-up on my face, before I turned around and ran towards the hospital.
Lori, Priscilla and I were waiting in the hallway for Dr Andrews. At 8.01h he walked down the hallway like clockwork. The man had impeccable timing, to say the least. He looked up, taking his glasses from his nose.
“Morning ladies. Ready for another day?” The three of us nodded at the doctor, waiting for our orders of the day.
“ OK, Miss Garcia, I heard the delivery went really well yesterday. The OBGYN was actually very impressed with your work. He wanted me to ask if you would like to assist him again today.” Priscilla smiled wide as she nodded her head.
“Yes sir, of course sir. I would love to.” Dr Andrews nodded, to which Priscilla turned around and started to walk down the hallway, to find Dr Stevens. Dr Andrews looked at me.
“Miss Davis, you can go and see Aiden, take some blood and prepare him for a scan. I will come to his room when I am done.” I nodded, looking at Lori and winking at her as Dr Andrews turned around and walked off, while Lori rolled her eyes and followed the man. It looked like Lori was the black sheep of the week. I just thanked my lucky stars it wasn’t me. I found myself walking over to Aiden’s room, maybe a bit too fast and too skippy for my usual doing. So I shook my head for the last few feet before I sighed hard and walked inside of his room.
I was surprised, seeing Aiden wasn’t alone in his room. A giant of a man was standing against the window, looking outside, while a woman was sitting in a chair in the corner. Reading glasses on her nose, as she was reading in some kind of magazine, the amount of power that radiated off of them was insane.
Holy hell, the Alpha and Luna!
I swallowed as I stopped walking and stood dead in my tracks. In the corner of my eye, I saw Aiden turn his head and look at me, his gorgeous grin spreading over his face again.
“Morning miss Davis.” He hummed, which pulled me out of my daydream and made me step further inside of his room. Seeing that the Alpha had turned around to look at me, and the Luna was looking up from her magazine.
“Miss Davis? I don’t think we have met before.” The Alpha spoke in a deep voice, before reaching out his hand at me.
Holly hell, I need to shake the Alpha’s hand?
I tried pulling myself together as I cleared my throat and reached out my own hand, shaking The Alpha’s massive one, fearing he would break my fingers if he would squeeze.
“No sir, I am an intern from the Uley pack. I came here two months ago.” The Luna smiled wide as she stood up and walked over to Aiden’s bed.
“That is lovely! Do you like it so far?” I smiled as I nodded.
“Actually yes, I really do. My pack doesn’t have a hospital, so it really feels as if I have entered a whole new world right now. I want to thank you both for the opportunity.” The Alpha nodded his head, he had longer grey hair and blue eyes, the same blue eyes as Aiden.
“Well, the doctors must see a lot of potential in you, making you look after the future Alpha of the Hyle pack.” He spoke as he looked down at Aiden, pride radiating off of the man.
“Thank you sir.” I spoke as I nodded my head at him.
“Now, if the Alpha and Luna wouldn’t mind, Dr Andrews asked me to take some of Aiden’s blood and to prepare him for a scan. You are welcome to wait in the hallway or in the cafeteria. I will come and get you, once Aiden is back in his room." The Alpha nodded his head politely, as the Luna took her purse and placed it over her shoulder, before they both stepped outside, while they said goodbye to Aiden. I took a deep breath in, feeling happy that I had survived my first encounter with the Alpha and Luna. They genuinely seemed nice,
thank Goddess.
“Good morning Aiden.” I smiled at handsommy as I walked to the side of his bed, trying to sound 'light', if that even a thing?
"I need to get some of your blood, OK?” I spoke as I took all the appliances I would need. Aiden just kept looking at me with his huge grin. So hard that it even made me feel uncomfortable. When I felt like I couldn’t take it anymore, I raised my eyebrows and looked at him.
“Is there something wrong, mister Hyle?” I asked him, my comment made Aiden’s grin grow even bigger as he just kept staring at me.
“Miss David, I believe you are in love with me.”
