Memories I don’t recall

She began researching blacking out and sleepwalking while in class. It was the only explanation she could think of for why she had strange symbols etched on her spine. Her professor interrupted her because he noticed she wasn't paying attention and asked if she wanted to share whatever had her attention. Everyone in the class turned to look at her as she closed her laptop and replied "no" to her professor. She went to the school cafeteria after class. She had been so preoccupied with her research that she hadn't noticed someone standing in front of her. He drew out a chair, interrupting her concentration. Delilah looked up to see Kim Dae-Jung, whom she had completely forgotten about her plans with. “Oh my god, Kim!” “We were supposed to meet up last night?” “I’m so sorry, I forgot.” Kim raised a hand interrupting her before she could say anything more. “I waited the entire night for you and you didn’t show up, why Lilah?” “Kim, these past two days have been so chaotic and stressful for me. I was going to come to you, but I completely blacked out.” “You don’t need to make these silly excuses Lilah, I just wish you would have the decency to tell me you don’t fancy me rather than string me along.” He walked away before she could say anything more. Kim was a successful lawyer from Korea who owned a law firm in the city. He was a doctoral candidate at the university. He stood six feet three inches tall and had dark auburn hair. He was a hunk with brown eyes. He met Delilah while she was working as an intern for a professor who was also a friend of his. Delilah, a beautiful and charismatic twenty-three-year-old, had captivated him since the first time he laid eyes on her. She captivated him in a way that no other woman had. He was initially hesitant to pursue a relationship with her. But he eventually gave in because he knew a woman like Delilah came along only once in a lifetime. She had begun to grow. She had begun to develop feelings for him as well, but she was hesitant to enter into this relationship with Kim because her life was nothing more than a canvas painted in strange colors. She didn't want to involve a man, and then there were the strange dreams and blackouts, times in her life she couldn't remember. She sighed and walked away to print her next class's assignments. She was in the printing room, printing out her documents, spacing out as images of the strange symbols on her back flashed through her mind, and she kept seeing flashes of a face. As the door opened, she snapped out of her reverie. “Girl!! Why didn’t you come for the kickback last night?” Delilah turned to see her friend Felicia walking towards her. Delilah let out a sigh as she rolled her eyes. “I was busy, swarmed with too many assignments.” “Are you a lesbian Delilah?” asked Felicia as she leaned on the printer. “Excuse me?” “Honestly Lilah what is wrong with you? Kim is hot, that man is delicious, young, wealthy, and not to mention an absolute gentleman. Why do you keep pushing him away?” “I and Kim’s relationship is none of your business Felicia,” “I know it’s none of my business but if I’m being real, You are making excuses and running away from something that could be great. I don’t think there is any man better than Kim, if I was you, I wouldn’t waste the chance to have him all to myself. To be honest, I’m jealous, there isn’t a woman that has met him that hasn’t tried to seduce him, but he could care less. As soon as you waltz into a room, he is taken with you. and you don’t even give him the time of day. Even yesterday, that annoyingly obnoxious Theodora was laying it heavily on him at the bar but he paid her dust.” Delilah let out a groan as her reminder went off on her phone. “I have to go Felicia; I have a class to see you later. Nice chatting with ya” Delilah bolted before Felicia could finish her sentence. Felicia and Delilah had been friends since freshman year, and despite her affection for Delilah, Felicia had always envied her. People gravitated towards Delilah without her even trying, due to her unnatural beauty and charisma. Felicia was a beautiful woman, but she knew she couldn't compete with the force that was Delilah. She had a secret crush on Kim since the first time she met him, but he was always too preoccupied with Delilah to notice her. She settled for his friendship, but it was becoming increasingly difficult to hear him vent about his feelings for Delilah and how he was having difficulty connecting with Delilah because she was always so aloof. Every time Kim confided in Felicia, her heart hurt and broke; if only he could see how much she loved him and was always there for him.
