---POV Reslinda--- Faith huffed irritably and turned to hold out a hand for me. “Hey…are you okay? Sorry I didn’t notice this sooner. I was on my way over to the caf and I saw this nonsense going on. You haven’t even been here for an hour and they are already on you.” She clicked her teeth. I spit out the pooling blood from my mouth and used her outstretched hand to get to my feet. She wasn’t completely wrong about my timing. I got back around three in the afternoon, decided to go for a walk around four and apparently got my a*s handed to me by five. I think that was a new record. All humor aside, I felt my rage increase. I give up. This school is just as cruel as the prison I grew up in. Cloaked in a beauty that is ignorant to the truth. I’m tired of being forced into this stupid mold that this academy force feeds to our parents. Perfect children bread to follow their species leaders or to rule. F*ck this school! I winced and used my magic to repair my clothes. They were in tatters. “Thanks.” “Yeah, no problem. What was that?! Like one against ten?! If you wanna fight, fight fair!” Faith hissed. I shook my head. They never will. This school is not built on the standard of equality and fairness. “Faith. Want to raise a little hell? I think it’s been too long since we’ve shown this lovely institution what we are made of.” I grinned mischievously. When I turned to look at my bestie, she was brushing the dust off her blood red and black corset. Not a scratch on her. She sighed and turned to me with a grin I knew I mirrored. The ones you will only see in a human child’s nightmare. Hey, nobody said fairies are nice. She threw her bag over her shoulder and nodded. “They messed with you?” Now exposing her sharp fangs, she flicked her straight, black locks behind her silky white skin. “Of course they did. We are beneath them because we are open-minded to other species. I mean come on! What century is this?! Even humans have tried to be more inclusive and we can’t even figure that one out?!” I shouted. “Enough! They are no longer allowed to get away with this without some repercussions. No more simple pranks and jokes. Its time to hit them where it hurts.” I tipped my head towards the students left behind, stilled and unconscious. I didn’t even bat an eye to help them. I didn’t care. They had it coming. I heard Faith chuckle a bit before walking up to me. Her eyes darkened. “With pleasure.” ---POV Faron--- “Aren’t you going to do something?” Wes wined after a small group of pixies and werewolves slowly walked out of my office after b*tching that my sister handed their a*ses to them, but they conveniently left out why. “About what?” I said as I spun the fresh blood around in my wine glass, trying to enjoy what is left of my silence after Wes brought those sniveling children in front of me. The last week has been…eventful to say the least. The minute I got home, I went straight to the Western Head Alpha’s wedding and stayed there for the majority of my vacation. However, the amount of people I had to dodge about alliances was ridiculous. Even the main couple of the event didn’t have to shake off that many people. I guess it was the...perks of being the Vampire King’s heir. Either way, I haven’t taken a break in days. I just wanted some peace and quiet before school gets into full swing tomorrow. Why Wes insists upon ruining it, is beyond me. I took another sip of my meal and glanced out the window while Wes continued to drone on and on about my responsibilities as President of this school. Sometimes I find it quite comical that he thinks he knows more about what I should do when he's just the aide. He's not even the VP. “President, your sister and that stupid winged b*tch did that and we are just going to let that slide?!” He growled. Stupid Winged B*tch. Well, that's a new one. I took another sip and walked over to the large glass window overlooking the main courtyard. Even thought it's additional work being the president of the school does come with some perks. For example, this office is perfectly situated away from the sunrise and decorated with the finest leather furniture, oak wood desks, and tables. I could even stash my…food here. It’s not like I’d turn to dust or ash if I stay in the sunlight, but its rays really do burn my eyes and it’s annoying. Nothing more, nothing less. “Are you insinuating that I cannot control them?” I asked calmly. He didn’t respond while I finished off the last of my drink. I wasn’t really in the mood to savor it anymore. Without warning, I threw the glass straight in his direction. Wes was able to dodge it, but just barely. I could smell the potent scent of aged vampire blood as it pooled to the small cut on his cheek. Not something my nose enjoys smelling, especially right after I had such fresh human blood a moment ago. This guy is getting under my skin. Just like I have heightened eyesight, that goes for all my other senses as well, and now my sense of smell is overwhelmed with the scent of decay. However, he disrespected me and my leadership…and her. I wasn’t going to just sit here and ignore this because someone cried to me about their problems. Laughable. “That’s not what I mean…I meant –” “Stop talking while you are ahead.” I said just as calmly as before. “Yes sir, I mean you have a done a great job dealing with those students. I mean–” My fangs elongated and showed themselves under my raised lip as this blithering i***t continued to stumble over simple sentences. A warning. Once he realized this, his voice faded off to a whimper. “Out.” I said shortly. Over his whimpering, my voice was next to silent. He went for the exit swiftly with his fangs retracted and his tail between his legs. I was about to relax when, as if I howled for him personally, another level of insolence invaded my space. Timothy. He walks in with some sense of urgency, but I’m sure it could wait. I saw him at the wedding talking to Ayden and his new mate, but it seemed like a closed conversation, so I stayed back. He didn’t approach me at all while we were there for anything school related, so I know this can wait. “Why is he sniveling?” He said irritably. I think it is mutual. We both don’t like him. I shrugged slightly and made it back to my desk chair. “He needs to learn his place, Tim.” I said. Timothy nodded and dropped some papers on my desk. I shot a glance toward the waning stack as it barely stayed put on my otherwise organized space. He sighed and leaned back on his heels. “Sports teams’ requisition forms for the coming year. There are a lot of them.” I grunted and looked up from my desk, staring out the window. Sunset showed through the panes and it was refreshing. I sighed, hearing the door close behind him. This is why we are friends. He doesn’t hover around in my space like a disjointed lawn ornament. He knew the conversation was over, so he left. I closed my eyes, allowing my enhanced hearing to flood my ears. Students were heading back to their dorms at the high school and the college kids were heading to different cafes or libraries. I shut the noise back out and turned to the haphazard pile of work now on my desk that I needed to finish tonight. However, I couldn’t be angry. I was also in silence…. …Perfect. ---POV Reslinda (Res)--- Faith was a bit too giddy, but I was glad she was behind me with this. Enough really was enough. “So what are you planning?” She asked with a little too much happiness. I stalked off fuming and trying to resituate my shirt. I hate when a good outfit goes through the ringer. Magic or not, that’s just disrespectful. I even got this outfit for a bargain. I felt my long golden brown hair fall towards my cheeks and a leaf brushed by along with it. I proceeded to pull it out and huffed. “Res!” Faith shouted. “Right! Sorry.” I called back. I was about to start the discussion when I heard it. The clock tower. It’s 5:30. D*mn. I can’t disappoint him. “I think we should drop a bucket of water on them before the Flight Games and shave the wolves in their sleep.” I giggled and heard the toll again. I have to hurry…and I definitely cannot show up like this. I quickly glanced down at my outfit. Wrong color and, even though it was fixed, thoroughly disheveled. I’m glad I didn’t change earlier, but this is going to make me late. Great. “Nice! How about with a bit of bubbles, just to make a splash. They will be drying out for hours. The suds will definitely leave a residue. Oh and I know I have a spell for a close shave on wolves somewhere.” I added. Never mess with a being’s wings. Unless, of course, you prefer retaliation. Pixies are horrid. They think they are better because they have vampire in their blood. A vampire and a fairy in one being doesn’t mean sh*t when neither group wants you. I scoffed irritably at my own thoughts. “Oooo you are a little genius. I’ll get it ready, and we can set up the plan in our suite this weekend. Wouldn’t hurt if they…freeze too.” She grinned maniacally. Perfect timing. This school is laughable. They put us in the same room…like together. After being here for five years, you would think they’d finally decided we could room together, but on the flip side, now we have a headquarters. Then again, maybe we are part of some experiment to see if different species could live together. We are probably one of a kind on this campus, but they can try it…if they want. “Good one. Sounds like a plan. I have to run, but I’ll see you tomorrow.” She grinned at me, but it definitely had a gossip-ready undertone. “Where do you always disappear off to on Friday nights? Hiding someone?” I blushed and cleared my throat. I definitely didn’t miss the whole “someone” comment. She may be my best friend, but Faith can’t know. She is our number one rule. We cannot tell Faith. I winced at the bruises and smiled in her direction, playfully, but with a hint of malice. When he sees this…Faith will look like a puppy to those a*sholes compared to him. “Wouldn’t it be perfect if I am? Then he can kick those beings’ a*ses.” I winked and waived before spreading my wings and dashing to our room. I can still make it, but I’ll have to fly. I felt the pain in my winged joints almost immediately, but I didn’t care. It’ll heal soon enough. “Fine! But he better be hot as hell!” Faith shouted after me. I laughed openly and continued my mad dash. If only she knew. When I finally landed, I checked my messages for my attire again and blushed a bit, remembering he really loves that a-line, sleeveless red dress with a looped collar. It’s one of my favorites too. I closed my patio doors and walked up to my closet, pulling my day clothes to the side so I could look around for my more…accessible attire. I pulled out the dress and some black bootie-heels and a simple leather jacket to match. I safely tucked his gift into my jacket pocket and made sure it was zipped up before heading to the bathroom. I rushed through the shower and dried off quickly before taking the simple black piece of fabric out of my bathroom drawer and buttoning it around my neck. I threw on my clothes and hurriedly grabbed some concealer and rubbed it on the bruises I could see after lathering my body with lotion. I’m sure he will be able to see through it, but it was worth a shot. Clearing my throat, I headed to the balcony and let my wings stretch as I jumped.
