Prologue
The werewolves have settled in Shadow Ridge for hundreds of years, gradually becoming the rulers of the land. The leader of the various packs, the Cloud Mountain pack, led all the werewolves against enemies and built the packs as prosperous as human cities. Thus, choosing a mate for the prince of the Cloud Mountain pack is a major event for the entire ridge, yet they have kept the tradition of a hundred years ago: the Prince and his future Luna do not meet before choosing a mate, leaving everything to fate.
When Alex first saw Cathy, it was on a roster Luna gave him to choose a mate.
He casually turned a page, only to see a girl lazily lying on the lawn, a book covering her face. The following line notes: Cathy Williams, the youngest daughter of the Williams family at Moon Lake pack.
He showed the picture to Luna and said, "Just her !"
Luna took a look, and immediately frowned, "Cathy Williams? Why did you choose her out of all these girls? No !"
Alex raised his eyebrows, "Aren't all of these girls chosen by you? Why not her?"
The Luna of the Cloud Mountain pack looked at him, "It's true that I chose these girls, but I didn't know that there was something else going on. I just learned that she has an affair with the heir of the Silver Arc pack, she can not be your mate."
"Oh?" Alex looked at her, "A secret love?"
Luna nodded her head and said, "Exactly, I was going to remove her from the roster, but it was tightly framed, so if you tear one page, the whole roster will be ruined. I didn't expect you to choose her. Anyway, she can't be chosen."
Alex looked at Luna, "The heir of the Silver Arc pack? You mean Edwin ?"
Luna nodded, "Exactly him."
Alex smiled, "If it is others, it may be true, but him... " He paused, the fingers knocking on the table, emitting a light sound, "He is heir of the Silver Arc pack. We have known each other since childhood. He is a person who will not do anything improper. This rumor is probably dirty water thrown by the enemies of the Silver Arc pack."
Luna frowned for a moment and nodded, "Yes... you have a point." The words fell, she shook her head, "Even so, you can not marry her. It is said that the day the messenger went to the Moon Lake pack, when she heard that it was for your selection of mate, she refused to meet him and took a book to cover her face. She's obviously not willing."
Alex smiled again, eyes slightly cold, the face indifferent, "I choose the future Luna, choose who is who, so what is she's not willing?"
Luna was stunned, "This is true, but even her face is not allowed to see, it showed that she didn't put you in the eyes. She's really not... "
Alex stood up, interrupted Luna's words, "All packs of Shadow Ridge have agreed to marry each other to fight against enemies. As the leading pack, we have the right to choose the daughter of any pack as the future Luna. Just send someone to the Moon Lake pack to inform them of the news !"
***
The Luna of the Cloud Mountain pack decree : Cathy Williams, the youngest daughter of the Williams family, is virtuous and gentle, has excellent manners, so she is a good mate for the heir of the Cloud Mountain pack.
Cathy was teasing the cat on the tree, when she heard the words, her body slipped and fell down the trunk of the tree.
Her maid Elsa let out a cry.
Cathy landed on the ground, turned her feet upside down, and stood firm. She sniffed angrily, "Without even seeing my face, she is talking nonsense. Then their pack's ridiculous tradition : choosing the future Luna by picture instead of actually meeting her. What kind of virtuous lady am I?"
Elsa looked at Cathy, speechless for a moment.

Alex went to the Moon Lake pack and found Cathy in a lawn chair.
At that time, Cathy's face was covered with a book, quietly lying there. The breeze came, she wore a dress gently floating.
Alex looked at her, the page held in his hand. The girl in the picture gradually came to life in front of his eyes.
He stopped to look for a moment, went forward, reached out and took the book off, revealing a face.
Roy, who came with him, shrieked in horror : "A ghost !"
Cathy, with a ghost face, bared her teeth and smiled.
Alex narrowed his eyes, threw the book back to Cathy, and his voice was low, "Go wash your face !"
