“I’m pregnant Kyle!” I announced the good news with a broad smile, expecting to see a similar reaction from Kyle but I got the opposite.
Kyle was sitting handsomely, dressed in a blue leather jacket and black pants. His hair was gelled backwards and his ocean eyes were one to die for.
He looked beyond dashing and he was my boyfriend. His well-chiseled jaws could make ladies die from excitement and his smile was worth killing for.
He was sitting in his hostel, more like the house where he and his friend lived. They were both from a different pack.
“You’re what?” Kyle dropped with shock, making me quiver.
“I’m pregnant. This is great, we’re in love, we’re dating, we’re mates and now I’m carrying your baby” I continued, still feeling ecstatic.
Kyle shook his head while chuckling darkly. He found my words absurd and his reasons were unknown to me.
“We’re in love? Mates? We?” He repeated my words sarcastically and my heart began racing tremendously. I found his behaviour strange and noticed he wasn’t gazing at me softly as he used to a few weeks ago.
“Ye… yes” My lips quivered as I forced out the words, his sudden change was mind-blowing and I felt lost. It felt like I was talking to the exact opposite of Kyle.
“Ever since we started our little child’s play have I ever looked into your eyes to say the words I love you? Don’t be dumb Amanda, we were just having fun and you took it the wrong way” Kyle broke those words and I could feel my heart shattering alongside the words.
“…” I was speechless, my heart was wrecked beyond repair. My body was trembling now.
“Look Amanda, that you were a virgin wasn’t an excuse to be naive. I mean, I’m Kyle, the only son of Alpha Daren, do you expect me to be entangled with you? Come on, I’ve got obligations and duties… I have a pack to rule and I’m pretty sure my Luna would be waiting for my return. Even if you’re the daughter of the famous and powerful Alpha Theodore, do you think I’ll be tied to a wolfless girl like you? You’re no different from a human,” Kyle spat out the words and I could hear cracking noises.
It was my heart, shattering into a trillion pieces and I felt fat goblets of tears roll down my cheeks.
“Fun? Kyle… All the words, the kisses, the touch… The sneaking out and our passionate nights…” I whispered, unable to find my confident and bold voice.
“The words? Do you mean words I’ve used for countless ladies? Those repeated lines can make any girl fall for me. The touch is something I’m willing to give every lady and passionate nights. You should know better! For f**k sake you’re 21 can’t you tell the difference between lovemaking and s*x?” He let out and I fell instantly.
My legs were so weak, how I would walk back to the school to meet my brothers was still a mystery.
“K… Kyle” I let out, there was nothing in my heart except for emptiness.
“Amanda, we both know things can’t work between us. You’re an independent and determined woman, you wouldn’t easily give in to any guy. You always want to be in control and that’s not the kind of lady I’m into, I love my women, dependent, fashionable and shy” He let out and I just bowed my head, tears flowing out of my eyes.
I had created the gravest mistake ever, I fell for the devil himself. How the hell could I have been so blinded by love that I failed to notice everything?
I failed to notice that our relationship wasn’t a true one, he never did anything with me in public. We kept it away from the public, I was foolishly enjoying something that wasn’t real.
I felt ashamed of myself and to think I was pregnant for him. How would I face mother and father? What would my brothers say? They never liked Kyle from the start and they always warned me to stay away.
How would the whole pack see me? I’m a disgrace! I’ve brought shame upon my loving parents.
“Amanda, we both know we’ve done wrong and there’s only one way to rectify this” Kyle muttered and I raised my head, wondering if he was ready to marry me just to rectify our mistake.
“You need to abort it…” I stopped listening to his words immediately when I heard the word abortion. How the hell could I abort something that was created out of love? Doctor Steph would kill me if I opened my mouth to request something ridiculous like an abortion.
“Pay attention! Amanda, you’re not listening and it’s not helping matters,” Kyle scowled and I just stared at him blankly. His words were traumatizing.
“You need to abort it. It’s the best and only option for us…”
“What if I die” I choked on a sob as I forced the words out of my mouth.
“You’re strong and brave! Nothing can happen to you. Amanda you need to abort it. Your father wouldn’t spare me. He would force me to get married to you…”
“And?”
“I don’t want that Amanda, I’m still a young alpha with better days ahead. Look, I’ll bring some drugs for you tomorrow…”
“I’m not aborting this” I dropped with a steel voice, subconsciously touching my tummy and he stared at me, gobsmacked and furious.
“Amanda… Since you’ve decided to ignore my words, I’m denying you. If words leak out, I’ll deny you as I’ve never seen your face before… You’re afraid of abortion when almost every human does it” I could read the meaning of his words and my heart failed me.
I struggled to stand but my body was too weak and I sat there, weeping profusely and wondering if my life would ever go back to normal.
How would I face my mother? Would I tell her a rascal got me pregnant? I can’t, that would be the most shameful thing ever.
I stood up, struggling to balance myself, my eyes were on Kyle who didn’t feel a thing. I felt disgusted that I wanted to throw up but I was more disgusted with myself.
“Think about it Amy, I’ll always be here to help you” He muttered and I scoffed, walking out with shaky legs. I felt like I was walking on thin ice.
I headed home numbly, tears dropping out of my eyes as I thought about my life. I entered inside the pack house, ignoring everyone and heading straight to the garden.
Mom was seated with Dad and immediately she saw me, she ran to me, gripped with fear.
“What’s wrong dear? What happened?” Mom demanded, hugging me tightly and Dad walked towards me.
I clenched Mom tightly, tears flowing freely. I’m sorry Mom, this isn’t the right path but I messed up big time and it’s up to me to clean my mess, I’ll never let my mess affect their good reputation.
“I love you mom… I love you both so much… The… These are tears of joy” I muttered, swallowing very hard. I felt terrible for lying to my parents but I had no option.
“We love you too hun. Are you sure you’re okay, it’s a joyous day, you don’t have to cry, where are your brothers?” Dad suggested and I nodded, wiping my tears immediately.
I hugged both of them again and they looked at me with doubtful eyes. It was hard to lie to them.
“I’m fine, seriously. I only came to see you guys… I’ll be leaving now” I muttered and they nodded, I smiled, staring at them with a lingering gaze. Dad’s hand was around mom’s waist and they both waved at me as I left.
I entered the pack house, staring around as I began walking lightly. I searched around for any guard and when I saw none, I sneaked into Dad’s office.
I’m sorry Mom and Dad, I have no option. I hope you guys can forgive me.
