Chapter 1: Chaos

1530 Words
It was twenty years ago... ~Luningning~ "My dear, what do you think we should name this baby? Remember, I'm about to give birth, and don't you think we should come up with a name for the kid right away?" My mother inquired about my father. I was only six years old at the time, and my family and I were forced to live in a hut in the wilderness with other werewolves. It was with eagerness that I came closer to them and leaped onto my father's lap, where I remained. You should be familiar with the sensation of seeing your parents in a good mood! Those emotions are enough to lift a depressed spirit! "I'm sorry, but why don't you just let Luningning name the child? After all, he or she will be his baby." My father answered my mother's question with a grin on his face. Both parents seemed to be overjoyed, but when they asked me what I thought the baby's name should be, Mia was the first name that sprang to mind after just a few seconds of deliberation, and I immediately spoke it out. "Mia?" they both said at the same moment, looking each other straight in the eyes. "Yes, Mia," I repeat the name, but I'm concerned since I'm not sure what's causing the grin to disappear from my parents' faces. "Wait, why Mia, Luningning? Does this imply that we are expecting a female child?" My mother's mouth fell open, and my father was anxious to hear what I had to say next. Then I had a change of heart and suggested that we name the baby Lucas instead, as it indicates that they are dissatisfied with the first name. And I instantly brought up Lucas's name. My father grinned and said he preferred the name Lucas over Mia since it was more unique. The wonderful, exhilarating love moment was over, and my mother walked inside the hut to get some rest. My father touched me on the shoulder, grinned, and walked behind her to catch up with her. I was intrigued about what caused my parents' attitude to shift as a result of the name I said, so I crept into their room and listened in on their discussions without them realizing I was there. I'm well aware that this is a horrible thing to do, particularly at my age, but I can't help but be concerned about them. If you were in my position, you would do the same thing. Fortunately for me, I was able to overhear their chats after standing by our window and pushing my palm against the windowpane. "Come on, sweetie, you don't have to be so depressed; I'm hoping the baby will be a boy," My father said and kissed the back of my mother's neck while holding her by the waist. "What if the baby turns out to be a girl instead?" My mother asked and took a deep breath, then turned to face my father. "We will accept it, since the prophesy said that Luningning, not the kid in your belly, would vanquish him, so don't be alarmed." My heart is racing, and I turn my gaze to the ground, which is facing down, since I have no idea what it implies. "You know, I don't want Luningning to fight this struggle alone, so please understand. That is why I desire a male child who will be able to assist him. " "According to the prophesy, Luningning should do it alone, and if he needs assistance, it should not be from his siblings! Examine your surroundings; there are several werewolves that will battle and assist Luningning in achieving his objective of eliminating the wicked creature! " Immediately after my father said these things to my mother, I realized that I had overheard something I shouldn't have been listening to. I had a million questions racing through my thoughts since I couldn't figure out why they both preferred a newborn boy or what the awful creature they were referring to was. Then I transformed into a werewolf and dashed into the dense woodland that surrounded our homes to seek refuge. The last thing I see are dark trees, trunks, shadows, and overhanging branches obstructing the pathway. A few clumps of trees, a few barely visible dark tracks winding through the undergrowth, the light glinting through a lattice of leaves, patchy sky, long shadows of pine rising up like archers—these are the sights that make up the forest. After that, I continued to wander about, breaking dry sticks with my wolf's paws and telling myself in my heart that I should not have listened in on their private chat. It's a damn shame! I became enraged with myself. Either my parents should have explained themselves to me, or they aren't my biological parents. So, how am I supposed to destroy an evil monster if I have no idea what that creature looks like to begin with? I suppose I'll have to flee from my house. But is it possible that this is the solution? Perhaps I should just apologize and inform them that I overheard their chats. "They may be able to answer all of my queries." I continued sprinting until I struck my head against a tree and quickly transformed into a human. As I sat beneath the tree till the sun went down, I searched for leaves to hide my nakedness under. [The cracking of twigs] "Who is that?" I glanced around and attempted to smell things, but I couldn't find anything or detect anything. I should probably get back home before any wild animals or the awful creature my parents have been talking about appear to me. I reverted to werewolf form and began sprinting back to our cabin. As I drew near to our hut, I saw flames and howling werewolves. I'm curious as to what may happen, since it seems like a dangerous situation. When I arrived at our huts, I saw a large number of werewolves lying dead on the ground and that all of the huts were on fire. They didn't even know what they were looking at anymore. Everything seemed to be bitter. I transformed into a human and tears began to stream down my cheeks as I saw the destruction of the planet on which I had been living. "Mother! Father! Can you tell me where you are?" My breath was interrupted by a stutter. I was about to jump into the flames and look for my parents when I was seized from behind by someone who covered my mouth with his right hand. We were both hiding within the forest that surrounded our cabin, but we were both aware of what was going on. As I was a kid, I saw animals with long claws and fiery eyes, as well as those with fangs teeth and fangs fingers. They assaulted my clan as quickly as the wind could blow them away, but when the werewolves fought them, they were reduced to ashes. Everything looks like something out of a nightmare. Our werewolves might have triumphed, but there's this enormous dude standing in their way. He's quite tall, much taller than our hut, and he's putting on a black robe with a cap on top of his head. The garment has the appearance of a sleeping rope. He begins with his nose and works his way down his face in black. One of the only parts of his face that can be seen is his eyeballs, which were red from blood loss. After seeing how he was just strangling and shattering the necks of my tribe, I became concerned. I couldn't look at them any longer, so I ran away to try to rescue my parents, assuming they were still alive. However, the person who took me would not release my grip until I surrendered. We both stood there and watched as everything came crashing down around us, and the terrible, gigantic guy and his minions spared none of my people as they fled with his followers. My rescuer and I were the only ones who made it out alive throughout that terrifying night! The events of that night have left a deep scar on my conscience. I stood there and watched as our whole tiny community crumbled. My heart was filled with sadness since I would not be able to see my mother and father again, and particularly not my Mia or Lucas. Is it possible that this is a curse? I'm not sure how a six-year-old me could comprehend all that is going on. I tightened my teeth, fighting back the hiss of anguish, but I was certain that I would exact revenge on the deaths of my parents and the unborn child in the future. The guy who saved my life could see the intense agony in my eyes. I'm sure it hurt him since they also slaughtered his family, and he was unable to rescue any of his loved ones. We both decide to spend the whole night in the forest since it is the only place where we can feel secure.
