Chapter 3 - First day at Grey Meadows High

The last week I've been busy unpacking my stuff, painting my room and make sure my chill room is up and running.

Last week my dad and I ran into Alex, a girl from my school. Tomorrow will be my fist day at Grey Meadows High and for the first time I'm actually looking forward to it.

I decide to make some tea for my parents and myself as we decided to sit down the porch, enjoying the weather. For a January it's quite soft and not as cold as the last few years. So far we haven't even had snow...

My parents brought a terrace heater so we were able to spend time outside as well as inside. As we sat down I noticed my parents exchanging looks at one another and eventhough it kinda bothers me, I decide to leave it be. We drank our tea, my dad and I light up a cigarette as my mom gives us a heavy sigh, "You guys do realize this stuff is the worst for you, right?" she says as my dad and I give her a small smile. "Mom I know, but it helps me clear my mind and ease my stress, you know that."

I blow out a ring of smoke, trying to perfect them, I don't actually drink a lot, don't do drugs, so smoking is about the worst thing I do.

"So, you're ready for school tomorrow babygirl?" my dad asks, my mom smiles gently at me, awaiting my reply. "Actually I am dad, and to be honest I'm quite curious about my class and actually already made a friend. I think Alex and I will just get along fine, to be honest" I say as I smile from ear to ear.

The rest of the day passes by slowly, I walked around the backyard, finding myself in awe of the view. We live in the city, yet it feels like we live next to a forrest. One day I might access the forrest and see what lies beyond I think to myself. "Maybe this place isn't that bad after all, who knows, we can finally stick around here" I say to myself, as my dad walks up on me, scaring me half to death. "JESUS Dad WTF!" I scream as he start to laugh his heart out. "Im gonna kill you!" I yell as he starts to run. As soon as I'm about to reach him, my mom calls "Marvin, Mary! Get over here, dinner's ready!"

"On my way mom!" I call back to her. My dad thinks he won this round, but I still have some tricks up my sleeve, he is in for a battle, I think to myself as I sit down with a smirk on my face.

Since mom made dinner, I volunteer to load the dishwasher. Mom gladly accepts it as she makes us some coffee. My dad has nothing in his coffee and the last week he pranked my ass of, so in order to get my revenge, I shooed my mom out of the kitchen. She immediately recognized my evil grin, "What are you up to hunny?" she asks me, I realize I can't keep it hidden from her, "My revenge will be salt in. his coffee" I hissed to my mom, she smiles and offers to help me out. If she brings the coffee my dad wouldn't suspect a thing. These moments are so precious, mom is always up to a prank. As I walk to the porch, after finishing loading the dishwasher, I grab my coffee and sit down with my parents. As soon as my father takes a jug of his coffee he starts to scold me and my mother, we laugh till tears roll down our cheeks, my mom gives him a new cup and pets his head, "You should've realized pranking your daughter the entire week would result in revenge" as she cuppes his cheeks. A deep sigh coming from him, "Fair enough, babygirl. At least you'll be in school from tomorrow on. I just hope you fit in here" he says, as I nod. I'm more confident then ever and I already made a friend. I wish my parents a good night, as I walk upstairs, get changed and fall asleep as soon as my head hits my pillow.

*BEEP BEEP BEEP*

"UGH" I say as I hit my alarm. Damn 6.30 AM already?!

I swing my legs out of bed, grab a sweatshirt and walk down to fix coffee. Mom walks right behind me, smiling at me, "Go smoke, I'll fix us some coffee" I nod as I continue to walk to the porch. The sun shines over the tops of the trees already, coloring the sky several shades of pink.

Mom and I looked up at the sky, amazed by the view we have. I feel relaxed, "Hunny, go shower, what time did you agree to meet Alex? An we need to talk tonight, especially with your birthday coming up" Mom asks me. "8.15 mom, at school. But you're right, better get a shower now" I kiss her cheek and run up the stairs, get undressed and wash myself. When I'm done I can't help but wonder what she wants to talk to me about. I get my black skinny jeans, a blak shirt and an oversized hoodie, black with a print of a wolf on it and wear my black Converse. My hair in a messy bun and no make up, that's not really my thing tho. I look at myself in the mirror, feeling quite content with myself, as I turn to grab my bag, my dad walks in, "Babygirl" he says as he cupped my face in his hand, giving me a kiss on my forehead, "You're going to fit in perfectly", "Thanks dad, I think so too" I say as I give him a hug. I ran down the stairs, grab a slice of toast, kiss both my parents on their cheecks, "Bye! Got to go! See ya tonight!" I yell as I ran outside to my Jeep.

Today is the first day of my new school, new friends and the vibe is good I think to myself while driving to Grey Meadows High.

I park my Jeep, Alex runs over to me, "Hey girl, about time! How you feelin? This is my brother, Aiden" she said, "Hi, Aiden, nice to meet you Mary" Aiden said shaking my hand. "Yeah nice to meet you too! Feeling great Alex, let's pick my roster and figure out where to go" I said, they both nodded. Everyone wad staring at me, s**t, hopefully this ends quickly before I kick someone's ass. I sighted, getting a quick look from Aiden, who is around 1.80m tall, short black hair, brown green eyes, and a well trained body, he and Alex look a lot alike, her hair is black as well but cut in a pixie style, she has hazel eyes, my length and also looks like she trains. Suddenly realizing why the girls smirk at me as I walk by between Alex and Aiden. I scoff internally, push it to the back of my head, well f*ck it, we'll see how this goes.
