Elementia Tellurian

Chapter 2

I try to open my eyes as the sun’s heat and light still lingers on my skin. It’s morning and I can hear the hustling and bustling that’s happening outside of the house. Trumpets echoing throughout the regnum. They’re preparing for our take off. I sit up and stretch my body for a minute. I roam my eyes on my room. I am going to miss my window ceiling. The best feature in my room that I could ever think of. I can instantly see the stars whenever I look up. It helps me calm. I stand up and starts preparing. I walk towards my bookshelf and starts grabbing books. Books that I can bring to read whenever I’ll have my pastime.

I enter the bathroom and starts taking a shower. I close my eyes and let the water win against me. I start letting my energy flows to my hands and I can hear sizzles every time the water gets in touch with my hands. I take a deep breath and the sizzles stop. I open my eyes and lift my hands. A ring of water encircles my hands. My breaths getting heavier. I close my eyes once again and mouthed, Stop. I can feel that the water encircling my hands drop. I sigh.

I tie my intense black hair into a ponytail and wear my red one-piece tracksuit. Underneath it is a black sleeveless. Both of it have the symbol of Ignis. A fire. All of the clothes I packed were just the same. Black sleeveless and red tracksuit. I lift my luggage and carry it outside. “Oh, you’re done.” I look at the speaker who’s sitting on the chair and nods. “Yes, dad. I’ll be out for a short period of time.” He stands up and puts down the cup on the table with his coffee. He hugs me and pats my back. “Be safe. Be brave and don’t give up. Even if you lose, you’ll still have a place on that final arena. “I don't know what he means but I nod.

We look at the door when we heard a knock from outside. "Open up." I head to the door and opens it. Smiling Joash appears with a luggage behind him. "Hello, Our future queen. We're ready to go." I roll my eyes when Joash said that. "Stop that, idiot." I said He raises his eyebrows and looks at me with disbelief." What did I do wrong?"

I shake my head. I look at his outfit He's wearing the same tracksuit as mine. His brown hair jelled to the point that it's unmovable. He walks toward my dad and hug him. "I’m going to take care of her pops." he seriously said. My dad just laughs. He pouts at him. Tsk. Childish. "She's weaker because she's smaller. So leave her to me, okay?" My dad just nods his head to Joash. He talks nonsense sometimes.

I walk towards the door. " Let us go, Jo " I look at my dad and smile at him. "I love you and I'm going to miss you, dad." he smiles in response.

••• "Welcome to the heart of the Elementia Tellurian, my dear competitors."

All of the competitors on the arena roared and shouted their heart out. Twenty-four young men bravely joined the competition. May the best man win. While Sera, on the other hand, is the only woman standing together with the men. That makes twenty five of them. She's with the other four members from Ignis and that includes Joash, her best of friend. In front of them is the host of the competition standing on a platform and behind him are the five kings of each regnum, together with their queens, sitting on a distant. They are at the heart; the center of the whole kingdom. It is usually vacant every after thirty-five years. No one is allowed to visit. It is surrounded by the five regnums. The Regnum Aqua is found on the north. Ignis is found on the northwest and complementary to it, southeast, is the Terra. Aeris is found on the northeast part of the heart and the Meta is found on the southwest. All together, they made a star.

"I am Prince Zale, your host for this competition. I am the Prince of Aqua and at the same time, the head of the council."

The council is the organization of princes and princesses. They rank second after the kings. It is under the leadership of Prince Zale, after the former Prince of Aqua handed the position to him. The council ensures peace between kingdoms and they're the ones who assess the incoming successors.

"You'll be all living there for a while " He pointed a big mansion which is behind the competitors. The competitors looked awed. "But before that, can we have our ears to listen to our kings." he smiled as he faced the kings from above. Everyone clapped.

The King of Aqua stood up. "In behalf to all of our kings, I am standing here in front of you to say that to our dearest elementia I am very glad to witness all of you standing here. The bravest souls that the Elementia could ever have. Soon, five of you will sit here. We can't wait to know who among you will be the future of our kingdom. We may all be at peace and in love. For the love of our kingdom!" The competitors repeated after him. "For the love of our kingdom!" Flowers from above appeared on the area. The scent of the air became the smell of the flower. It made everyone happy.

"For the love of our kingdom Thank you for that King!" The prince showed gratitude to the king while smiling. He started walking away from his platform and passed the competitors. "Follow me!"

All of the competitors followed him while the mansion started opening revealing all of the members of the council waiting. When they're already in front of the mansion, the council- the princes and princesses, greeted them with a smile. "This will be your home. Welcome."

The mansion welcomes the competitors with a huge light chandelier illuminating the area. Two big staircase right in front of the doorway with tapestries hanged on every corners of the mansion with the symbol of every Regnums.

The council noticed the only woman on the group, Sera. They looked at her as she carefully observes the place and the people. "Seems this will be an interesting competition." A princess from the Terra said which all of the council agree.
