3 - Logan

~~Logan's PoV~~ I don't even hear the bell over the music blaring in my ears. It isn't until someone comes and stands in front of me that I realize that lunch is over and the cafeteria's empty. It's not the first time it's happened, but it's the first time someone came to check on me. I look up and see a girl I've never seen before. She's got long dark hair that hangs straight down, some of it's pulled back off her face but from where I'm sitting I can't see how it's tied back. Her eyes are dark too, like her hair, a dark chocolate color that's almost black. She's just standing there and staring at me and I start to get a bit annoyed. “What do you want?” I snap. “Lunch is over,” she says, like it wasn't already obvious. “I thought maybe you didn't hear the bell.” I didn't, but I don't tell her that. I lie instead. “I wasn't ready to go yet.” “Oh. I just thought I'd tell you in case you didn't want to be late for class.” No one would ever say a word about me being late for class, but obviously this girl doesn't know that. Does she really not know who I am? Then suddenly I remember that assembly we had last week, about the new girl that was coming who didn't know she was a werewolf. Suddenly it all made sense. I think they said her parents died or something?  F*ck, if that's true, I don't need to give her a hard time. I have to respect the fact that she's standing here talking to me at all. I guess I could cut her some slack. “You're new here, right?” I ask as I stand up. Her eyes go a bit wide when she sees how tall I am. It almost makes me laugh, which is weird. I haven't laughed at anything in a long time. She must not have been around any Alphas before. “R-right,” she stutters and takes a step back clumsily, but then she seems to get over her surprise. “I'm Sadie.” “Logan.” I know I'm not saying much, but honestly, it's the longest conversation I've had with anyone for quite a while. “Why aren't you in class, Sadie?” She makes a cute little apologetic face. “To be honest, I got lost. I thought I knew where I was going but somehow I ended up back here. And then I saw you so I came over, but now I still don't know where I'm going.” “What class do you have?” I ask, surprised to hear the words coming out of my mouth. Why do I care? “Math with Mr Craig?” She says it like a question, but lucky for her I know exactly where it is. It's the class I'm supposed to be in too. “Come on,” I tell her. “I'll show you.”
