-DOSSAM- I manage to tear my eyes off him and drag Rebecca with me inside the packhouse while I still feel his eyes on me. I feel my heart thrash in my chest by remembering his black eyes. The surge of power that I felt in his presence was dominating. I felt like bowing before him or to reduce to nothing. Lycans are really powerful and they are superior species to the werewolves. Lycans are very rare but they are stronger and smarter than werewolves. They run the Lycanthrope council and I wonder what two Lycans are doing in our pack. It's very unlikely for them to visit any pack. It must be a really serious matter that required for them to come and interfere with themselves. "Let's get something to eat!" Rebecca suggests and I nod, pushing all the thoughts regarding that Lycan out of my mind. We head to the kitchen where we find Luna Margo helping the cooks bake. As soon as her eyes fall on us, she offers us a generous smile and I feel a bit relax all of a sudden. I smile at her too feeling all the anxiety and nervousness wash away from my body in her presence. "By the way, Rebecca, you're supposed to wear both the flip-flops at the same time." She remarks looking at my friend's feet and I burst out laughing. Finally, someone decided to tell Rebecca that she's wearing flip-flops only in one foot. Rebecca glares at me but I ignore her and take a seat on the big island in the kitchen. My stomach growls in anticipation as the scent of freshly baked goods invades my nose. My mouth is already watering and I can't wait to eat. One of the cooks serves us croissants and without any thought, I start eating. I take a big bite of the croissant, almost devouring half of it at one go. I don't care if I look like a squirrel with its face stuffed with peanuts. I am hungry and that's what matters. I let out a low moan as different tastes explode in my mouth. The Luna rolls her eyes at my antics and I shrug at me. At least I have some table manners compared to Rebeca who's munching on her food like a cow. After I finish eating, I decide to head straight to my room on the second floor to get some work done for my medical school. As I exit the kitchen and start climbing the stairs, I feel that same uneasiness in the air. The air thickens with tension and I feel those familiar waves of power and dominance surge over me. I stop on my track when I feel that heated gaze again on me. It feels piercing and I couldn't contain myself from turning around and look at those black out-worldly eyes. I couldn't manage to tear my gaze off him. Right now, he's walking inside the packhouse as the Alpha leads him to his office. He moves gracefully, like a predator ready to lunge at its prey. His eyes are set on me while he heads to the other side of the house. He follows the Alpha to one of the hallways with the other blond Lycan. When they disappear, I let go of my breath that I didn't realize that I was holding. I race to the second floor, skipping two steps at a time. I am nearly exhausted to death when I reach the second floor and had to lean against the railing in order to catch my breath. I guess I am done with Cardio workout worth two days now. After ensuring that my lungs have enough air in them, I head to my room, ready to torcher myself with thick books on medicine that I'd rather burn and flush the ashes down the toilet. But I can't do that as my hands are tied. I need to become a doctor. I always wanted to become a doctor since I was small. Since my dad is a pack doctor, I feel this need to follow his path and do well for my pack. I enter my room and head straight to my study desk and dive headfirst into the piles of books that await me on the table. I didn't know how much time passed while I studied. Somewhere in between, mom came to visit me. She bought me a cup of tea and placed it beside me on the table. "The Alpha announced a grand dinner tonight. Everyone has to be there." She says and I sigh looking at all the questions that I have yet to finish. I rarely go to dinner because I seem to waste a lot of time chatting with people rather than actually eat. It somewhat distracts me and well, you get the picture. Mom usually brings me dinner in my room but today she wants me to join the pack and I wonder what's the reason for this grand dinner. "Why?" I ask voicing my curiosity. "Some members of the Council are here. The Alpha wants all of us to be present at the dinner." She explains and suddenly two black eyes appear in my vision. I shiver just by the thought of those Lycans. Their presence is regal and dominating. I don't know if the wolves have the same amount of effect those Lycans seem to have on me. Since I am human and weaker than wolves, their power overpowers me. It takes a toll on me. It affects the wolves too but I am sure they can control it unlike me. It's very unlikely to have humans in the pack. It rarely happens when a wolf's mate turns out to be a human. It happened with dad as my mother is human. So our pack has two humans- me and my mother but no one minds. In fact, we're treated the same way the wolves are treated. "Okay. I'll go." I say but a part of kept telling me not to because deep down I was bothered by those Lycans' presence especially the one with those coal-black eyes. I can't find the exact words to describe the feeling that creeps inside me when I see him. It's like I want to run away and hide from him but at the same time, a part of me wants to go looking for all the troubles that he could cause me.
