Silver’s POV As soon as he leaves the room, I realize that he didn’t tell me when the meeting would take place. My tummy rumbles loudly, notifying me that I hadn’t eaten anything since the incident last night. It was only 9 in the morning, surely Alpha Lucian and the others from the black shadow pack wouldn’t be here already. Right? “I’ll kill you if you step out of this room.” Alpha Damien’s voice rings through my head and I slump back on the bed. I am too hungry to stay cramped up in here. Hurrying out to get food will be the right thing to do, yes? I just have to make sure I avoid Alpha Lucian, if he’s here already. I jump out of the bed and open the door slowly to scan the hallway. I expect it to be filled with the pack members as always but it is different today as there is not a single soul around. Orders from Alpha Damien’s father, perhaps. Holding my breath out of fear, I run towards the kitchen. “What are you doing here?” I freeze when I hear the overly familiar voice of my mother. She stood in front of me with a tray of food in her hand and a frown on her face. “Alpha Damien made himself clear, didn’t he?” “M-mother!” I stutter, scanning through the kitchen for the remainder of what she had in her hand. “I’ll leave now. I just wanted to get some food.” I lower my head to the ground, realizing that that there was actually nothing for me. They had all prepared breakfast and left me out to starve once again. I hear her sigh and take my hands, urging me to look at her. “I won’t be able to save you from Damien’s wrath if he sees you here. Here, take this and lock yourself in.” She puts the tray of pancakes and milk in my hand and walk away. A tear threatened to escape from my eyes so I hurriedly wipe it off as I watch my mum walk away. She was the only one I had, even though she never acted like she cared, I knew she was always worried about me. I stood there for so long, I forgot that anyone could walk in anytime. It was a bad day to piss Alpha Damien off. I run towards my room, hoping to get there before I am caught. “Shit.” I whisper as I bump into a hard wall and almost lose my standing but two strong hands hold me down. Wait? This isn’t a wall. It was a f*****g person! “You should be careful, kitten.” My eyes hoisted up to see who the voice belonged to and a scream almost leaves my mouth. I was staring at the most entrancing pair of grey eyes that pierced directly into my soul, daring me to look away. My mouth was left wide open as I drank in his beauty. From his sharp jawline, to his perfect nose, his smooth skin and kissable lips. This man looked like a god and his height didn’t make things any better for me. I looked like a rat before him as he was two times my height. Good heavens! “I- uh… I’m sorry.” I manage to say, squirming under his gaze. His hands stay fixed on my waist as he using his free hand to lift my chin up, forcing me to look at him. “And who are you?” He asks, the deep baritone of his voice causes me to shiver in fear. There was something about this man’s aura that just made me understand that he wasn’t your regular wolf. No, regular wolves didn’t command this much authority. I clear my throat and fix my posture as I stare directly at him. I wanted to cower away in fear so bad but I also didn’t want to seem weak so I muster all the courage I had left and speak. “I should be asking you that, don’t you think? I live here and I don’t think I’ve ever seen you before.” I give myself a pat on the shoulder for how smooth that came out, a huge contrast to how I actually felt. The strange man raises a brow, his lips pulling up in a smirk and his eyes capture me in their sharp gaze. “You amuse me, kitten.” He says in a whisper, tightening his hold on my waist. “That’s not my name.” I say, trying to wiggle my way out of his hold but the tray in my hands restrict me. I was now beginning to panic. Alpha Damien could come in here at any minute and I didn’t want to be seen here, especially with a stranger. Alpha Lucian could be here already for all I knew so it was best to leave. The strange man says nothing but continues to stare at me like I was a piece of art. His large hands finally leave my waist only to come up to my cheek, caressing it softly. It takes everything in me to not crumble in his touch. I felt a strange and unexplainable warmth with him close by. “You’re not happy.” He suddenly says, pulling me out of my daze and a frown forms on my face. How the f**k did he know that? “Silver?” I hear the familiar voice of Tiffany from behind the stranger. “What are you doing?” She forced a smile, looking between I and the stranger. She really looked like a Luna now with her expensive clothing and calculated steps. She was nothing like me. “I- I got hungry. Please, don’t tell Alpha Damien. I’m going back in now.” I plead with her even though I knew that it was utterly useless. As long as it would make Alpha Damien hate me more than he already did, she didn’t mind. She doesn’t give me a reply but turns to the stranger with a fake smile on her face. “Alpha Lucian. Pay no attention to her. She is no one. I’ll take you back to the others.” She was putting on her best act, trying to be as sweet as she could. She had this charm that just worked on everyone. Not me though. I know how evil she really is. Did I just hear her say ‘ Alpha Lucian ’? My eyes nearly bulge out of their sockets as the realization of who he really is dawns on me. That explains his powerful aura! He is f*****g Alpha Lucian! I was face to face with the devil. Could my life her any worse? Fuck. I need to leave before Alpha Damien sees me. I already broke one rule and now, I was putting the entire pack at risk. What if he finds out that I’m a cursed witch? That will be the end of the negotiations and it will all be my fault. Alpha Damien will kill me. “Alpha Lucian?” Tiffany’s high pitched voice calls out once again and he steps away from me, turning to face her. I let out a sigh of relief, glad that I could finally run back to my room before I am caught by Alpha Damien. The food in my hands were now invisible to me as hunger was the least of my worries in this very moment. “Sure.” He says and Tiffany beams happily. Her eyes dart to me, warning me to stay away and I nod. My eyes meet with Alpha Lucian’s before I turn to leave but his voice stops me. “She’s coming with us.” He says, his eyes not leaving mine for a second and I hear Tiffany gasp. “What? Why?” She shrieks, her face twisted with dissatisfaction. Alpha Lucian peels his eyes away from me slowly and faces Tiffany. “Don’t make me repeat myself.” He says and walks away. I stand there, confused with everything that was happening. Why would he want me to come along? Did he already find out that I’m cursed? f**k! Alpha Damien won’t spare me this time around. “Didn’t you hear him? You’ve gotten yourself into some serious trouble, silver.” She says with a smirk as she walks away, humming happily.
