Cat's p.o.v

I open my eyes and I am still in my wolf form. "We fell asleep" Misty says, she is still radiating sadness. Earlier, we ran until we were numb and fell asleep in the dirt by the river. I get up and shake our fur. My wolf is all black and has a patch of white fur on her right paw. We run to the back of the pack. There are some stairs that lead to my room. I normally go that way whenever I shift and I don't have clothes to change into. Dad hates for any of his girls to be naked around anyone, really. He is so possessive and even makes us get dressed behind trees or behind him. I shift and quickly climb up the stairs. I climb in through the window and I groan when I see mom and Valentina sitting on my bed. "Finally. We have been mind linking you for hours. Where have you been? Dad said you shifted and jumped out the window." mom says. "I was running around. I had to clear my mind." I say. "I heard what happened. Dad told me you rejected Joel." she says. "If you are here to try to convince me to take my rejection back, then it won't work." I say. "I'm proud of you, sister. You shouldn't be second best to anyone. It wouldn't be fair to you to be here, watching Joel have a family and you be waiting on the back burner for him to give you time. His family will come first. It's like you will be considered the side chick. The home wrecker. People will say that because of you, their child doesn't have a mother and a father, living together in a happy home." Valentina says, and I stare at her. My little sister is so smart. "I actually agree with your sister sweetie. You did what you thought was the right thing. I am just worried that he didn't accept the rejection and how this will affect you." Mom says and hugs me. "Have I ever told you two the story of Nico's real dad?" mom asks us and we shake our head. We know he has a different dad, but not all of the details.

"See why I would be a hypocrite asking you to stay and make it work with Joel when he got someone else pregnant. I went through the same thing with his father, except I was not his mate and she was. We were both pregnant at the same time." Mom says. I respect her even more now. She was strong and took herself out of that situation. "Now that Nico is back. Is it okay if I leave to train? Time away will do me good." I ask mom. "Yes, by the time you return, many full moons will have passed and your bond will officially be broken. This is fair. You shouldn't be here and have to suffer watching him start a family. No matter what anyone says and how they want to picture it in their minds. His wolf will be in love with his pup. Well, if he is a decent wolf, that is. His pup will always come first. This is why it is not recommended to have pups with someone who is not your mate," mom says. "Can you help me convince daddy?" I ask her. "Of course. But, Daddy is hosting some meetings here with fellow Alphas and I am hosting a dinner in their honor tonight and I need you two to help me. Cat, I know you hate doing these kinds of things, but just help me, please. I want to keep daddy calm. He is on the verge of snapping because of all of this drama," mom says. She goes to stand up, but I grab her arm. "Mom, I don't want any drama. This was not what I planned. I want nothing to do with that situation. I just want to train, live my life and be happy," I say. She smiles at me and nods. She walks out, leaving Val and me to get ready for tonight.

Valentina's p.o.v

"What is this awful clothing you have in here? If you can even call these clothes?" I ask my sister Catalina as I go through her closet. "Shut up. Alpha's in the house. We are single, we have to get super s3xy. Super mamasitas tonight." she tells me and I roll my eyes. My sister is the skinny, athletic, s3xy woman that every male wants. I on the other hand, am thicker, not athletic and no male wants me. I was never able to shift into my wolf, although I know I have a wolf. I can feel her, but for some reason she won't come out fully. No-one knows this though. I am too embarrassed, so I just told my family that I have no wolf. People say your appearance changes after your first shift, but I still look the same since I can't shift. It sucks so bad, but it is what it is. "You can dress that way. I will dress how I normally dress," I tell her. "Like a funeral director? Hell no Valentina. I am in charge of dressing us tonight," she says with a crazy look in her eyes. "Here, let's drink and loosen up." she says. My sister has a wild look in her eyes and mixed with alcohol. This is scary Cat. I have a bad feeling about tonight, but I can't say no to my sister's requests. She is clearly going through it and I have to be supportive.

Cat's p.o.v

I grab a gold mini dress with some nude heels for me. I open the door in the middle of my room that connects to her room and I march straight into her closet and begin to go through it. "Urgghh" all of her clothes sucks. I take everything out and do not find anything that I like. The sexiest thing I find is a pair of black leather pants and a strapless hot pink shirt. Luckily, she has high heels. "This will do," I say. I go through her under clothes. I grab a thong and a strapless black bra. Ohhh she is going to look so hot. My sister thinks so poorly about herself. I am always trying to boost her confidence and I think this outfit might help. I lay everything out on her bed and go back into my room. "Your clothes are on your bed. Go shower and change. Then I will do your hair and makeup." I tell her. Once she closes the door, I jump in the shower and get myself together. I do soft makeup and my hair is always straight so I just let it dry on it's own. I get dressed and go over to Valentina's room. She is dressed and looks amazing. She has a fat a$$ and big b00bs. "Wow Valentina, you look hot. All of the Alpha's will be drooling over you tonight." I tell her. I sit her down and do a smokey eye shadow. I curl her hair and put lipstick on her. She gets up to take the final look at herself. "Wow Cat. I look so different." she says, and I nod and smile.

I grab her hand and make our way downstairs. We get to the dining hall and it is empty so far. Out of nowhere, Joel walks in. He eyes me up and down and a loud shrieking voice follows behind him. "Jojo, look, I think you can see my belly already. Look at our little baby." His baby mama says. He looks away and looks over at her and nods. "Even though I don't have a wolf, I am glad I can mind link and cringe she is clearly flat, from everywhere!" Valentina mind links me and I burst out laughing out loud instead of just in our mind link. I hear footsteps approaching. "What's so funny b!tch?" I hear that female say and I turn quickly. I glare at her. Joel stands in front of her and I want to laugh. "OOhhhhh" I hear Valentina say. I wish I could tear her apart. She is lucky she is pregnant. My wolf and I tell ourselves. I turn around and begin walking out of the dining hall. I see mom, dad and Joel's parents standing at the door and push past them. This packhouse just got a little too suffocating. I walk outside to get some fresh air and Valentina comes out behind me. "Cat, are you okay?" she asks me and I shake my head. "They are making me seem weak Valentina. She knows I can't do anything to her and Joel is just rubbing salt in the wound. Proving to me that she comes before me." I say. "They suck." she says. "You know how grandpa and mom always taught us not to hate people?" I ask her. She nods. "Well, I f*cking hate them. I am not above all of that. I hate them like I never hated anyone before." I say and she laughs. "Well, they deserve it." she tells me.

We stand here and greet everyone who begins arriving. A black truck full of people pulls up and they begin getting off. "Damn, looks like their whole pack came along." I say and laugh. I notice that Valentina is sniffing the air and begins to look nervous. "You alright?" I ask her. "Cat, I think my mate is here, in that group of people." she says. I think she is mistaken. You need a wolf to have a mate. I don't want to hurt her feelings, so I just look towards the group of people and notice that it is Alpha Charlie's pack. Ugh, he is the worst Alpha. He still believes that women can not be Alphas. He thinks everyone is beneath him. He thinks Lunas should just stay home and take care of their pups. I feel sorry for whoever ends up with him.

To my horror, his eyes are fixed on my sister and hers on him. F*ck no, this can't be happening. He walks up to her. "Wow, what is your name, beautiful?" he asks her. He is giving her I want to f*ck you eyes. At least he is being polite so far. "Valentina, what is your name?" she asks him. "Charlie." he says "Alpha Charlie." he corrects himself. Ewww, is he going to make her call him Alpha? I notice the men he is with are all looking at my sister with f*ck me eyes too. This is mad disturbing. Maybe she should go put on her nun clothes. "You two should go inside and talk before the meeting starts. Valentina, take him to the meeting room. You can talk in private in there," I say, and she nods and he throws his arm over her shoulder and they walk away into the packhouse. A bunch of people arrive and go inside. I am now sitting off to the side. "Hey" I hear Joel say. I turn around and luckily he is alone. I don't want to talk to him, but I guess it is better to speak to him alone than with the hyena he knocked up. "Hello" I say. "Catalina, about earlier..." he begins to say, but I hold my hand up. "Don't. I don't care. It was nothing." I say, and look back towards the forest. Misty wants to come out and scratch his face off. Make him feel a little pain. I am doing my best to hold her back. "I don't want you to think that I prefer her over you. It's just the pup, my pup. My wolf is over protective over him. Any threat and he snaps, but he would never hurt you. He was just protecting our pup and stopping anything from escalating." he tells me and I nod. "I would never hurt a pregnant woman, Joel. I am not sure what kind of person you take me for, but I will also not allow anyone to continue disrespecting me. Next time I will have her locked up in the dungeons." I tell him. "You aren't the Alpha Cat, you can't do that." he tells me. I know he is right, but he is just pissing me off more. "Look Joel, why don't you just stay the h3ll away from me? Keep your baby mama away from me too. Don't talk to me, don't even look my way. Lets avoid any problems and more misunderstandings." I tell him. "I can't stay away from you Cat, you are my mate. You have no idea how much this is hurting me." he says. "Joel, what are you doing with her?" I hear the hyena yell. "I'm going to text you later. I will figure this out for us." he whispers and turns around. "We are just talking Griffy, let's go inside." he tells her, like the weak male that he is. He better not text me. If I never hear from him again, it will be all too soon. "Whoever is close, get to the front gates. Help the woman and the child", A warrior announces through the mind link. I am close to the front gates, so I begin running there.

Valen's p.o.v

I got ready quickly. We have a meeting at the Black River Pack today and a fancy dinner after. I will be taking all of my high rank members, which are my beta family and my soon-to-be Gamma. I am leaving my grandfather, my best warriors and my Delta in charge while we are gone. 5 years ago, in an attack against my pack, my parents were murdered and many more wolves lives were also taken away from us. We were attacked by Vampires and witches that teamed up with a pack of Rogues that didn't have too many members. My mother was a rare white wolf and they wanted her dead and they achieved it. That night I met my mate. She was a rogue, part of that pack. I met her and 2 seconds later she was dead. The only tingles I felt from the mate bond lasted like 10 seconds before they disappeared along with her heartbeat and life. I had to take over the pack younger than I thought I would have to. I wasn't able to go to Alpha training like other Alpha's get to do so once they turn 18. Luckily, I had my grandpa who trained me along with his friends from the council.

We all get in the car. My Beta Christoph brought along Madaline, his mate, and their daughter Mae with us. My soon to be Gamma Zeus also hops in, cracking jokes like always. I help my little sister Aurora in the car. With my parents passing away, she was left in my care and I take her safety very seriously. She doesn't get out much, so when we travel to packs, I bring her with me. Well, mostly when Madaline comes because she can babysit her while I am in meetings. Zeus is going to go to the Academy in a couple of weeks to train. I want to make sure all of my members get the opportunity I didn't get, so when they turn 18, they have the option to go train for 2 years. I want him on top of his game and able to protect the pack at all times. The Gamma normally protects the Luna, but my mate passed away and I haven't been able to get close to anyone. No-one clicks. No-one seems interesting to me. None of anything is going on around here. My mate dying as soon as I met her really f*cked me up. Maybe eventually that will change. It will take one h3ll of a woman to make that happen. Someone to get through this thick, empty shell.

We begin making our way to Black River. The whole way, Aurora and Zues sing along to the sound track of a Disney movie she is really into. I don't even want to know why in the world Zeus knows these songs. Christoph and I are in the front talking about a possible business venture. The Black River pack is one of the most wealthy packs in America. They are known for working with smaller packs and helping them become wealthier and stronger and that is what we need. Hopefully Alpha Liam is really what my grandfather says he is. He and dad were friends and allies. "Are we almost there? I need to use the restroom." Madeline says "Hurry bro," Christop rushes me. We see the gates coming up and I speed up a little more. All of a sudden, something jumps in front of the car and makes me lose control. I end up crashing into a nearby tree. "Is everyone okay?" I hear Christoph asking. "Sh!t Sh!t Sh!t" I hear Zeus "What?" Madeline asks "Rogues" he says. "F*ck," Christoph says. I can hear everyone's frantic heartbeats. "Aurora is bleeding and is unconscious", Zeus tells me. "Lock the door and stay inside. Keep Aurora here with you." I tell her.

We get off the car and there are like 10 rogues around us and surrounding the car. "We can take two on at a time to begin with". I mind link my beta and soon to be gamma. I go straight for the biggest man there. I can hear Madeline screaming and the rogues hitting the car, trying to get inside. We need to k!ll them quickly before they hurt one of the girls. I run and tackle one of the rogues and take two more at the same time. One of them hits a tree and lands on the floor, passed out. The other two are under me. I get up and the bigger rogue jumps up and tries to jump on me, but I evade him. He lands near the car. I stomp on the rogue that is on the floors neck, until I hear a crunch that it is broken and he is dead. I notice that 2 rogues have gotten inside the car and one is holding Madeline and Mea back from trying to get to my sister. Sh!t. I rush the rogue again, but he jumps on top of the car. Out of nowhere a woman comes running. "What the f*ck is going on here?" she asks. She is wearing a dress and high heels. The rogue flashes a huge smile and turns around. "Catalina, it's you. Did they finally let you out?" he asks. "Let go of them" the woman shouts. The rogue jumps off the car, closer to Madeline and Mae. Christoph and Zeus are fighting the rest of the rogues. I can take on these three, as long as he stays occupied. I begin to creep up behind them and I crack the one holding Madaline and Mae. Luckily, so much is going on around us that the other rogue doesn't even look back. His attention is on the beautiful woman. I notice he is arguing with her. "What is such a s3xy woman doing out here by herself?" he asks her. I notice the other rogue beginning to drag my sister and before I can go and jump on him, she does. She attacks him and he throws my sister. I watch her jump and catch her and place her down on the ground gently. She turns around and grabs the rogue and cracks his neck, with very little effort. "F*cking b!tch" I hear the last Rogue say. "Hey," I say and when he turns around, he is shocked to see me standing right behind him and his other buddy dead. I punch him in the face and he falls to the floor. He wipes his bloody lip and glares at me. "Wrong move attacking my family son of a b!tch", I say and kick him in the face, knocking him out. I quickly grab his neck and twist. I stand up and look around and Christoph is checking over his girls and Zeus and the woman who came in and saved Aurora are still with her. I walk over to them and the woman looks up at me. Her eyes...She is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen, but I don't know who she is and I am not sure I trust her holding my sister right now. Nah, who am I kidding, for some reason I feel like I even trust her with my life right now, but Aurora is bleeding so much. "Here, give her to me" I tell her. "Let me help her. I can help her." she says.

Cat's p.o.v

Cr@p. How did rogues get in the territory? The rogue that this handsome man just k!lled knew who I was. I have no idea who he was, yet he knew my name. He made comments like if he knew that dad keeps us locked up most of the time. This Greek god is asking me to hand the little girl over, but she is bleeding a lot, then the damn rogue dragged her quite a bit and dug his nails into her skin. I need to heal her, but that means exposing myself. Dad will be pissed at me. Me being a healer is our family's biggest secret. No-one knows that I can heal others. It also drains me quite a bit, but right now I have so much energy and I already mind linked the doctor, but I want to stop her from bleeding out. She is losing too much blood and she is too young to die. I won't allow it. "I don't know you. What if you were with the rogues?" the guy asks me and I look at him like he is crazy..

Valen's p.o.v

"Bro, this is Catalina, she is most definitely not a rogue" Zeus says.. "You two know each other?" I ask, feeling jealous that he knows such a goddess. "We went to high school together. She's cool." he says. Madaline runs over to us and Christoph is behind her, holding Mae. "I know her too. Zeus is right. She's cool." she says, and Catalina smiles at her. I watch her lift her hands and a bright light begins to flow from her hand and spreads onto Aurora's body. For some reason, I feel so relaxed now. "Cat, what are you doing?" We all hear behind us. She stops what she is doing. Aurora opens her eyes and Catalina smiles. "She's going to be okay," she whispers and stands up.

"Alpha, rogues entered the property and this little girl was hurt." the beauty says. "You are not a doctor Cat" the Alpha says. "I know, but I wasn't going to let her die. I stopped the bleeding and give the doctor enough time to treat her." she says. The Alpha looks over at all of us. "Now you all have witnessed this pack's biggest secret," he says. "We didn't see anything" Christoph says, feeling the energy radiating from him. Apparently, what we witnessed was something we weren't supposed to. The men standing with the Alpha all laugh. "Everyone here knows that healers are the most hunted wolves around. Catalina is not allowed to heal anyone unless I approve of it. It's for her own safety. She healed this little girl, you all saw it, now you can not leave this place alive." the Alpha says. "You can't do that. They didn't do anything. I healed her on my own. Punish me, not them." Catalina yells. He looks at her and she is now standing in front of all of us. "Take them to the dungeons while I figure out what to do." the Alpha says. "No, stop, do not touch them. They need to go to the hospital to be treated." Catalina is still trying to protect us, but I can protect my pack, so I step in front of her and push her behind me. I won't allow her to be punished or hurt either. A wolf growls at me. "Do not touch my mate" he says. "I am not your mate." she yells at him. Woah. I glance back at her and she looks pissed. "Alpha Liam? I am Alpha Valen from the Darkmoon Pack." I say. "Valen, as in Valen DarkMoon?" he asks and I nod. "That was my father and well, that's my name too." I say and his face, posture and his whole aura change. "Ahh, he was such a great friend. We lost a great man during that attack." he says and I nod. "I give you my word that no-one will know about any of this." I say and he nods. "Get them to the hospital, if you are good, follow me to my office." he tells me. I turn to look at Aurora's body being lifted. I look at Catalina and she smiles at me. "Go, I'll stay with her." she tells me, and I have no idea why I am trusting my sister with this strange woman. For some reason, I feel like I can just trust her. "Yes we can." My wolf Ghost tell me.
