Chapter 3

1146 Words
I glanced out the window, and I was in complete shock. The school looked almost like some academy you see on a brochure to send trouble kids too. Don't get me wrong. This place was a definite upgrade from our last school, but it could never be our home. While I was lost in thought viewing the school's beauty, our dad parked in the closest parking space by the school. I left all the trash from our breakfast in the extra bag I had brought it in. I didn't want to dispose of it at school and have to carry the extra bag with me all day, so I just left it in my dad's truck. I jumped off the seat and landed straight into a puddle. "Great..." I said with irritation in my voice.  Thankfully, I always keep an extra pair under the back seat. I know how much of a klutz I can be, so I always try to have an extra pair of clothes and shoes on me or near me just in case.  “Hurry up Skyler, or we’re going to leave you behind!”, said Steven.  I hurriedly put on the spare shoes I left in my father’s truck and raced to where my brothers and father stood. We all walked side by side with our father walking in front. As we entered the building, there was a sudden shift in the atmosphere. All eyes turned to us. Humans and werewolves all stopped what they were doing to see who commanded their attention. Because our bloodline is so powerful and ancient, the humans were able to feel our strong aura. The werewolves couldn’t take their eyes off us not only because of our powerful aura, but we are their rivals. Wolves from the Warblack pack began to tense up as we walked further into the school, but my brothers and father remained unbothered. As soon as we walked into the principals office, we were greeted by a older looking man. He had a clean shaven face and dressed in a polo shirt.  “Hello, my name is Robert Jenkins. I am the principal here at Shadow Heights. I am also a werewolf like yourselves. I just belong to a pack far away from here.” said the older looking man.  “Hello, I am alpha Sebastian McCall of the Silvercrest pack. These are my children Steven, Scott and Skyler McCall.”  While my brothers smirked when they’re name was called, I greeted the man with a genuine smile. He returned with a smile just as sincere almost immediately. It wasn’t uncommon for pack members to travel far on unclaimed territories. Sometimes packs would do it to scope out the land, but majority of the time it was just werewolves who wanted to start a life away from pack land. Wolves who did this could live their life peacefully, but they always were at risk of getting attacked by rogues or other rival packs because there pack isn’t nearby to protect them. I always admired the freedom that came with leaving pack lands. “Here are your schedules. All the hallways are labeled just as well as the doors. If you need any help please don’t hesitate to ask me. Before I forget, at the end of the day all students will have a physical education class, but werewolves are separated from the humans because of their lack of endurance”, said Mr. Jenkins. Just as Mr. Jenkins had finished his sentence, our father turned his whole body to face us.  “Kids, please don’t burn the school down. Be on your best behavior!”, my father said with a hint of worry in his voice.  I could tell he was beginning to become tense of leaving us at a school with a rivaling pack. As we exited the principals office, I quickly stepped forward to him and gave him a kiss on the cheek to reassure him that we would be fine. My father has a massive temper on him, but there were only two people who could ever make him real the beast back in, my mother and I. That’s why I knew how to calm him down in this very moment. He gave us a quick glance before stepping outside the school doors. I turned to my brothers who haven’t left my side since we entered the school.  “What’s your first class?”, I heard Scott ask. “Mine is English, what is yours?” I replied. “Mine is biology. I think it’s on the other side of the school”, Steven said with such excitement in his voice.  Ugh nerds.  “Mine is Algebra. I think my class is almost right by yours Steven”, Scott said. “We still have ten minutes before class starts. What do y’all want to do?” I asked my two brothers who were still gawking at their schedules. I should probably mention that I have photographic memory. One glance at my schedules, and I know where all my classes are and the teachers name that teach the course. "Let us walk you to your class", said Steven. Scott began to nudge me towards the english classes at the other side of the school. After five minutes of them struggling to figure out where my class was, we were finally outside of the room. Of course I knew where the class was, but it was just too rewarding watching them struggle. I swear we passed by my class three times before they figured it out.  "You guys should go. You have to go find your classes! Hopefully you have better luck finding yours!" I quickly ran into the class before they could begin to protest.  As soon as I entered the room, I was hit with the most delicious smell... This smell was filling up my nose, and  I couldn't concentrate on anything else. I quickly glanced around the room to find the owner of this addicting aroma. My eyes landed on him almost immediately. He had brown luscious hair that I just wanted to run my fingers through. His eyes were already trained on me before I had even looked his way. His eyes... They looked like the sky... His shirt was tight which revealed the muscles that laid underneath. I just wanted to run my hands over all his muscles... What in the world am I even saying? I don't even know this guy. What is wrong with me. I was snapped out of my thoughts when he rose from his chair. His eyes never leaving mine.  "Mate", I hear him say underneath his breath... ***RIINNNNNGGGGG***
