12 years later Most days are windy, sunny, and chilly, but rainy days make him feel so alive and awakened. Bill’s power heightened by the natural heavenly water cleanses and rejuvenates him. Everyone in the Connor family knew rain refreshes Bill and has a soothing effect on his peace of mind.  “We have a visitor coming for dinner.” “Everyone should dress for dinner as usual.” He ignored his father’s message for everyone to get dressed immediately for a formal dinner. The governor of New Jersey, John Hoffman is coming with his daughter. He knew the senator since childhood. He is his father’s childhood friend and the best man at his father’s wedding. Senator Hoffman is also Bill’s godfather. Bill thought of the powerful man and couldn’t help the smile that formed on his face. In the past, he had several encounters with the senator and knew him to be a good man. Sliding out of his clothes, Bill thought of their guest. He looked forward to seeing the senator again, after several years of seeing him. The thought of going inside the rain excites him more. “You can’t take this away from me, dad. The rain first,” Excited, he rushed to the bathroom to clean up. The thought of the heavy rain that spattered on the rooftop called out to him as he took his bath. Bill hummed his favorite song and danced to the beautiful song. “I can’t wait to step out of the house!” Excitement build up in him, not because of the dinner with the governor but because of the weather. Rain brings out the best in him. It excites and gives him a tingling sensation that rejuvenates his powers. And it recharges him. Today was no different. Today’s feeling is different. It was as if the rain was calling out to him. It called him to come out for something special. In haste, Bill dressed in his jogging clothes. A white tee shirt on a brown jogger, and a white trainer, pulling on his black hoodie as he rushed out of his room. He rushed down the staircase. His face bright and his smile wide as the rain lashed down on the rooftop of the mansion. In a hast, he skipped the staircase and missed two steps as he rushes down. When he reached the end of the staircase, he covered his head with his hoodie. Hurrying past the kitchen before his mom could see him. But, before he could go farther, the voice of his mother rang out to him. “Bill, we have guests coming over for dinner.” Victoria Connor called out, her voice loud enough for anyone to hear. Bill saw her before she came out of the kitchen, holding a big tray of roasted spiced chicken and vegetables,. He tried to dodge her, but she had already seen him. She saw her son rushing down the stairs and her eyes rose in question. Victoria glared at her son, while she suppressed the smile that itched to ruin her angry look. She knew of her third child’s love for rain, and it amazes her. Bill had told her several times that being inside the rain is one way to charge his powers. “How does he do it?” She mused, exasperated with her son. Since Bill got his magical powers as a little boy, he can’t resist running in the rain and has never been cold from it. He loves rain so much and it amazes her. Victoria remembered one rainy day when Bill was 15 years old. He came back home from his run in the rain and came straight to her room. She had been ill for two days but didn’t want anyone to know about her ailment. That day, the illness got too much for her to handle and she felt terrible inside. When Bill burst into her room after his run in the rain, the light radiated from his body flowed towards her. It entered her body from her nose. And, it flowed down her throat and moved all over her body. Immediately, she felt a surge of power and energy-filled up her body and recharged her. At the spot, she became strong and well again and rose from her bed to check herself. It amazed Victoria till the present day how Bill did it because since that day she felt well. Free of the ailment. “The pain forever gone!” “It was amazing.” Victoria mused, that day she had prayed and thanked God. She even thanked the moon goddess for giving her son the gift he possesses. The gift of healing was part of Bill’s many gifts. That day, Victoria knew it was a blessing for her to have a gifted child. “I’ll be back soon, mom,” Bill told his mom, kissed her on her cheeks, and hurried out of the room. “Don’t stay too long.” She scolded him, her eyes raised, and a smirk appeared at the corner of her mouth. Victoria’s smile deepened at the excitement on her son’s face. “I won’t...” Bill replied and rushed out of the house before his brothers could distract him. He knew his dad won’t like him going out; it was almost time for their guest to arrive. So Bill moved fast, eager to leave the house, but before he could step out of the house, he heard his name. “Bill, wait!” Ricky shouted and rush down the stairs. “No! No, no.” Bill muttered lowly. His eyes searched for an escape route. When he didn't find any, he stopped in his stride and turned to look at his elder brother. “I can’t wait, Ricky. I’ve got to go.” He answered him, shifting on one leg. Impatient and angry with his brother for delaying him. Ricky reached the end of the stairs in one long stride. He studied his brother’s face, amused at the impatient look he found there. “Where do you think you’re going, Bill?” “We are having visitors.” Ricky told his brother, exasperated by his love for rain. “Must you go out in the rain today?” He teased Bill and kept him longer to anger him, Ricky knew about his brother’s love for rain. But he felt one day without rain won’t kill him. He imagined how his brother could handle the coldness of the rain and why it’s important for him to enter the rain. Not understanding any of it, he stared at him, wary of his behavior. “Dinner is almost ready. Stay till after dinner to go out.” “What’s up, Bill. Where are you going?” Ken came out from his father’s study and stopped midway when he overheard his brothers. He heard Ricky telling Bill not to go out until dinner and watched in silence to see Bill’s reaction. Seeing the defiant look on Bill’s face, Ken walked away from where he stood. He needed to chip in some words, so, he joined his brothers at the foot of the staircase. “Bill, we’re having guest over for dinner.” Ken informed his brothers before Derrick strode in to join them. It exasperated him thinking of Bill’s passion for rainfall and didn’t understand the logic behind it. Ken studied him as he spoke and knew Bill would object even after he asked him to prepare for dinner. “Oh, great…!” Bill mused, exasperated with his brothers. He raised his hands up in surrender when he saw his third brother. “Guys, I need to go. I’ll be back soon for dinner.” Bill retorted, and felt his brothers were being dramatic and lingered him from going out in the rain. “Senator Hoffman is paying us a courtesy visit, guys." "Dad wants us all to be present for dinner.” Ken told them and walked away from the foot of the staircase. He left his brothers and went to check on their mom in the kitchen. “I would like you all to meet my girlfriend!” Derrick told his brothers, the proud smile on his face spread over his face as he spoke about his girlfriend. “Her name is Kathleen, Senator Hoffman’s daughter.” “She recently came back from abroad.” Exasperated with his brother’s long talk, Bill tapped his leg on the floor to get their attention. “Good for you Derrick.” Bill congratulated him, eager to leave the house before his dad came out of his study. “Got to go, guys.” Not waiting .., he walked out from the house into the heavy rainfall. He didn’t wait for his brother’s response as he walked away in the heavy rainfall. His brothers looked on, amazed by the young man strolling away in the rain. Bill was out in the rain now. Outside, he paused for a moment to inhale the fresh air. He breathed the cool air as rain splattered his face, and brought thrills down his spine. His eyes turned white as excitement filled his body. As he walked away, he pulled his hoodie over his head and walked out of the mansion’s gate to the lonely, secluded street. A few feet away from his house, he started to jog. The feelings of excitement increases causing his blood to race. And his heart pumped loud to the thrills of the raindrops on his face. Bill jogged for over five minutes before slowing down to walk at a steady pace. He pulled his hoodie tighter on his head and tucked his hands in his pockets. Bill shivers, excited as he walks farther away from his house. At a point, he stopped in his stride when he remembered the guest coming for dinner. His face changed and dread filled his mind. He needed to be inside the downpour not in a room filled with diners but he turned, about to head back home. “This sucks!” Frustrated with his choice, he dropped his hoodie and turned to go back home. but a light in the distance flashed on his face. Hands raised, he blocked his face from the blinding headlight that flashed in his face. It continues to his anger. Disturbed by the continuous flashing, he moved his head sideways to check the car. But, he couldn’t see very well in the heavy rainfall. But in the distance, Bill could identify a sleek black car parked at the curb of the road. The blinding headlights flashing in his direction. He couldn’t see the driver of the car very well but Bill curses under his breath. He blinked twice to wish the flashlight away from his eyes. Immediately, the flashlight went off, but the horn of the car sounded. The annoying sounded irritated him. Bill ignored the car and turned to the direction of his home. He was about to walk away when a young woman came out of the parked car and waved in his direction. “Who the f**k is she?” He thought and contemplated heading home or going towards the beautiful woman. She kept waving at him and it was difficult to ignore . After a moment to decide on what to do, he walked towards the parked car. Cautious at first, but as he neared the woman, a pleasant smell of jasmine and strawberry filled the air. Without knowing how, his legs moved of its own will. It walked fast, closer to the parked car and the pleasant smell. It was as if he was in a race with someone. As he walked, the rain picked up the pace with him, flopping his covered head as if edging him forward. The sky turned dark as slate, making it look like night instead of late afternoon. The west wind blew the rain straight in his face. Bill loves the feel of the rain on his face. He smiled to himself as he walked closer to the woman. As he got closer, he noticed she should be around eighteen years old. “Hey! How can I help you?” Bill asked her as he reached the car. “Is something wrong with your car?” He asked, peering at her, wary of the surrounding. “Yes, I have a flat tire...” The young woman replied to him, shaking from the rain. He was dumbstruck the moment he got closer to her. He saw her face very well and fell in love with her. He stopped in his tracks to stare at her. She is the most beautiful creature he ever saw. At that moment, a car sped past them, splashing rainwater on them as he sped past, breaking the trance he was in. “Stupid lunatic,” Bill shouted at the departing car, not happy with the dirty water splashed on his clothes and face. He looked back at her and gave her a warm smile. “Are you all right,” He asked the woman as he noticed the dirty rainwater splashed on her already wet dress. Looking at her very well, her beauty dumbfounded him. She’s an exquisite, beautiful woll, slim, and has honey-colored hair tied in a ponytail. He couldn’t see the color of her eyes in the dark weather, but he noticed she has an exquisite face. He felt a tightening in his stomach. He had to jerk himself from the erotic thought displaying in his mind. At that moment, he had an urge to sweep her off her feet and kiss her lovely lips. Appalled by his thoughts, he looked away to hide his eyes. His eyes glittered in the wet evening. Bill blinked and forced himself to concentrate. Moment later, his eyes went back to normal. He waited for a second before turning his eyes back on her face. Still hiding behind his hoodie. He looked at her face, only noticing her sexy lips as she bit down on her lower lip, nervous at that moment. A sports car spinning its wheels as it raced past them on the road brought him back to his senses. The rain became heavy; the wind blowing at them so hard. “Let’s wait it out in the car.” She told him, shaking from the coldness of the rain, her clothes soaked with rainwater.
