Sunshine

Daisy I grabbed the letters from Mr. Kane and threw the little cherry red bag over my shoulder. After taking tye elevator and greeting the security guys I walked out of the building. The sun was shining and its warmth felt like a gentle hug, a soft Spring breeze played with my hair and I turned my phone on to tune the radio. The song that started immediately brought a smile on my face and for a few minutes I felt simply happy. With my steps almost skipping to the post office, I've enjoyed the rhythm of the song called "Walking on sunshine". It felt like being in a movie. If there were any people who saw me, they might think I'm crazy, but they don't know what a heart-warming feeling it is to be overjoyed about really something small! My feet took me to the post office and I kept listening to the radio. They played my favorite jams, so with a smile I just handed the letters to the postman and skipped out of the building. On my way back to the office I was about to cross the street when I noticed something shiny on the ground. I've picked it up and it was a cute bee pin. I put it on my blouse and even stopped in Mr. Kane's favorite bakery for some snacks before getting back behind my desk. When I arrived back I immediately started working and with a soft chocolate croissant hanging out of my mouth I was typing the draft of a new contract for Mr. Kane when the police arrived. I jumped up and smiled at them. - Good afternoon gentlemen! What can I help you with? - Oh God... I hope they are not here for Mr. Kane. - Are you Miss Asano Smith? - on of the officers asked and I nodded. -You must come with us to the station Miss. - he said and they reached form my arm. - Is this because I picked this up? - I asked pointing at the pin. - I must gain some time till Mr. Kane notices them here. The officers looked confused looking at my useless, but cute pin. - No. Please come with us. - he said and that moment the office door opened. Marcus looked at the officer holding my arm and frowned at them. - What is going on? - he asked in his deep voice turning to me. - I have no idea. They came and said I must go with them. - I said and that was enough for Marcus to stare at the officer holding my arm. - Elaborate. - he said and the one who had been talking with me so far greeted him with manners and said. - Mr. Kane, I'm really sorry for the inconvenience, but we must take Miss Asano Smith to the police station for interrogation. - Marcus rubbed his temple with his thumb and index finger and asked. - What have you done Hinagiku? - I shook my head. - I just did the errand, picked the pin up and brought snacks! I'm innocent! - the policemen got tired and said. - Please Miss calm down. There was an incident and the other witnesses said you were the closest to it. - I felt my eyes widening. Curiosity killed the cat Daisy... - I haven't seen anything. - they shared a confused glance between them but in the end I was taken to the police station. Mr. Kane declined his remaining meetings and tag along. In the interrogation room they showed me how a street camera recoded the accident. Marcus I heard annoying hald muttering from the hallway, which made me unable to concentrate on the letter in front of me. Max was standing in the corner of the room waiting for the bomb of my patience to explode. It's not enough that my dad has this crazy idea, now I can't even do my job in peace. When I opened the door I saw three policemen around Daisy. One of them was holding her arm and she looked genuinely scared. I don't know why, but whenever she was scared of something she reminded me of a freshly hatched duckling. Before I could've really process what was going on, I was already behind the one sided mirror and watching Daisy's interrogation ready to call a lawyer as soon as needed. They played the video footage of the accident and I hit my forehead so hard that the officer next to me and Max as well jumped a bit in surprise. - Boss, what's wrong? - Max asked and I laughed at him. - What's wrong?! Can't you see? - I asked and Max turned to the mirror again where they replayed the accident as if I've requested it. It was clear as the sky. Daisy walked listening to something on the street. A man, dressed in dark clothes followed her from the post office. He was about to grab Hina from behind when she leaned down to pick something up from the ground and the guy behind her just fell above her shoulders and got hit my a car that came by. Hina, just walked away still listening to some music. She said that she had no idea who the guy was and she hasn't seen anything. So they couldn't do anything, since Daisy's testimony was useless, we were free to go. Max brought the car and I haven't said a word to Daisy until we were in the sound proof car. She was sitting next to me in the back of the car and just hummed something softly with a relaxed smile on her pretty face. - Why are you so happy? - I've asked and she grinned at me. - Shouldn't I? I'm not in trouble! - she said and I grabbed her shoulders making her face me. - Keep dreaming about it! What the f**k did you think you were doing? How many times have I told you to not use both of your damned earphones when you are alone?! - Her beautiful eyes widened at me and I felt her tremble under my touch. - I'm.... I'm sorry... Just the weather was so nice and... - I gently shook her. - Don't you understand?! I have enemies Daisy, what if they try to hurt you? Oh... He is afraid and angry. It is understandable, I know many things about his legal and illegal businesses as well.... - Daisy thought. - I'm sorry... - she mumbled and I released her arms and said. - You should start to act according to your age.- that was the last thing we said to each other during all day. Daisy left that evening after being scolded. - Maybe I was too harsh on her. - I said to Max during our drive home. Max shrugged. - She needed it. Daisy is cute and not stupid, but really naive. If you don't warn her and teach her these kind of things she'll get in trouble. Honestly... Sometimes I'm wondering, how she survived till today... - I had to chuckle. Daisy wasn't stupid indeed and I felt sorry for scolding her. Maybe some chocolate could comfort her. That moment my phone vibrated with a new message. #- Heeeeeeeey Marc! - this is Daisy's number... But why is she calling me Marc?
