My Billionaire Surgeon [Possessive!]

2 : The Hunt Begins

"Sir! SIR!" 

Zachariah was pushed out of his thoughts due to an annoying voice screaming at him. He blinked only to see that now, the woman whom he saw earlier was not there to be found, and yet this little disappearance had him scrunching his face in dislike. He wanted to see her, and he wanted to know her.

"That woman barged unannounced in the hospital and now Connor has her set for an OR! Do not tell me that you will not be doing anything about that sir!!" 

Riley's voice right now annoyed him, but he still knew she was right and moreover he wanted to know more about the woman who he had seen earlier. 

"Let us get going then Dr"  He walked towards the OR, with his heart in wide anticipation, not for the patient as much as for the mysterious woman.

As soon as they walked up to the OR opening, they met with Dr Conner.

"Dr Conner! Can you explain what is happening !" Riley huffed 

 Conner looked at Riley's face and then at his boss's face, but the weirdest thing was that his boss was actually smiling, but he never smiled. "What the f-"

"Connor!! Your Explanation?!" Riley almost shook his whole body with her squeaky voice. 

"She's the one that I had told you all about Riley."

"The surgeon from Hopkins? She's the one!! But still, how could you just let her-"

"The paramedics said that while they got to the park Dr Nirvana had already analysed the patient's situation and since he did have his ID on him she figured out his identity. I had already briefed her about this guy and she was going to drop in and join us tomorrow, but it was luck, because as far as I know, Dr Riley, and I will swear by this, is that Dr Nirvana is the best cardiologist out there and if she cannot save him then no one else can. So all we can do now is wait and watch."

"So her name is Nirvana" thinking this the unfamiliar feeling in Zachariah's heart returned. She was seriously something else. 

"Head! Head Chief!" 

"God calm down Riley. Let's all listen to Connor on this one. This surgery always had a low chance anyway. Let's get watching, and Connor get me the files on Dr Nirvana as soon s possible" 

Zachariah felt excited for the first time in his life. They all went up to the viewing cabinet to watch the surgery go on.

In blue scrubs, face masks and gloves Nirvana Delaney held the scalpel ready to save a person's life. All the possible scenarios and calculations popped up in her brain. She took in a deep breath in and then let it out. "Let's bless a life shall we?"

"All prepped and ready." Then she started working.

For Nirvana, her work and knowledge were the two things most valuable to her in her career. She loved biology and the simple notion of a human heart had made her starstruck ever since she was little, and then slowly she had grown to become the smartest kid in her class thus leading her to pursue medicine. 

Life had never been easy for her, but she had gotten through it. She worked hard for things that she wanted and she did get them at last. 

The surgery started with tension, but soon this tension eased and the whole OR was mainly filled with fascination. The way that her hands swiftly moved and her eyes focused on what she was doing was enough to captivate Zach, but he wasn't the only one who was captivated. Every spectator there was in a trance, her incisions and her movements with the surgical instruments were so precise and swift, and to be very frank they all were world-class surgeons, but this, this was something alien. Her grace and skill were vicious.

They were all captivated by this doctor in front of them, doing one of the hardest surgeries with intact confidence and skill.

Just then Riley's pager buzzed, and everybody got out of the trance they were in, after all, they could to stay in here forever for they had their own surgeries to get to.

"Ah, s**t! I have a code!, but I don't want to leave..." she cried.

"Get your ass out of here Dr Riley. You will miss something extraordinary but that's that," smirked Connor.

The surgery took place for a solid 5 hours and until then no one in the viewer moved. 

But all of a sudden she raised her hands off his chest and paused, signalling everyone to do so too. Just then the patient's heartbeat spiked low and bleeped for a second. All the people present in that room's hearts were beating so loud that they could not even fathom it.

"Wait a minute"

10 seconds passed but still no response.

"You can do this John" Nirvana whispered and then by all sorts of magic, the patient's heart rate spiked normal.

Nirvana smiled.

"Close up for me will you?"

Everybody by then had started clapping for this new doctor that they had just witnessed do a surgical procedure of such intensity with such ease.

Nirvana looked up to look at all of them and bowed and at that moment her eyes befell those grey one of the dark-haired man standing there too. His eyes held so many feelings in them, and she was confused but shrugged it off as a feeling and then exited the room to get clean.

Zachariah's heart felt like it was about to burst out of his chest. She had so much talent and grace.

I have to get to know her. She's mine.

As soon as those thoughts entered his mind, he felt shocked. Was that possession that he felt right now??  But why? He had not even talked to her once yet.

"Soon my Nirvana" he smiled and then left the room. 

It was the first time ever since he was a child that he had ever felt so happy and possessive about someone. He gripped the chart that he held in his hands tighter. Nirvana Delaney, The hunt had started and he was going to win the rabbits heart. The chase had officially started and whatever Zachariah wanted he had always got.
