Chapter 2

Lukas

"Thanks dude, that was really awesome, I mean way you helped" he said and I think I kind of blushed. "Thanks" I said trying to turn around. He was about to say something when someone called from behind us "Mason let's go man... the chicks are waiting". "Mason" I said in almost a whisper but before I could turn around again, I heard Mason calling out to the guy whom I just save while walking out of the pub. "Sorry Jaycee, I'll meet you tomorrow". The guy called Jaycee simply waved and Mason left. 

"Uhhh Jaycee" I said and he smiled. "Was that Mason Rogers?" I asked and he nodded while drinking some more water. "Do you know Rogers" he asked and I nodded. The waitress was back with more water and my meal, "How do you know Mason?" she asked "We have never seen you around", Yeah well that's a long story I said and they nodded in understanding. Mason and I used to be best friends before I was moved to a different place. "Oh" they both said in unison. "I'm Jaycee and this is my girl Em" the guy said and I smiled saying "I'm Lukas". "Lukas" Em screamed and hugged me. I almost lost my balance but thanks to the table behind me I stood still. "Don't you recognise me?" Em asked and I notice Jaycee scowl. "No" I replied avoiding eye contact. "It's me Emma Jackson, we used to all play together when we were kids" she said and suddenly a picture of a little girl with big glasses, apple cut hair popped in my head. "Emma" I responded surprised I had not recognised her. "It's been so long Lukas, how have you been". "I am good" I said not wanting to get into more details. "Are you a doctor or something, I mean the way you helped with Jaycee". "Yes" I replied "I always wanted to be a doctor and I finally got the opportunity to become one" I said smiling at my achievement. "Great she said, if you're here to stay for a long time then you could probably meet Dr. Daniel's, he is really good but unfortunately he is the only one here and he is getting old now" she said with a sad smile. "Sure" I said, I will after a day or two. Just need to find a place to live, I said and she nodded.

The food was good I suddenly did not feel alone any more everything was going well. The next morning I heard a knock on the door so I pushed myself out of my bed and walked to open the door. Mason was standing there his one arm leaning against the door frame while the other hand was rubbing the back of his neck. "Lukas" he said and I think I felt my d**k twitch, "Mason" I said smiling. "It's been so long man, I never recognised you" he said smiling. "Uhh can I come in" he asked and I opened the door for him. "So you're a fire fighter" I said and he smirked yeah, you know I always wanted to be one. "Looks like you achieved your dream too" he said smirking again which made me want to kiss that smirk. 'Yup I am a doctor now" I said beaming in happiness. "So what are you doing here, I mean you had moved to the city right" he said and I turned my face not wanting to discuss it. "It's a long story" I said and he nodded not trying to make me speak anymore.

"Come on you need to pack up, we are leaving" he said. "Leaving" I asked confused, "Yeah you are not staying in this stupid inn any more, you're going to stay with me at my house." he said. "You stay with your parents .." I said and he shook his head "nope, I have my own place now", he said and I nodded. "Are you sure you are okay with me staying at your place, I mean we have changed a lot since we were kids" I said and he started laughing. "Why are you a killer in the disguise of a doctor" he asked. "No.. that's not what I meant". Soon he made me pack my bag and drove me to his house in his Jeep. 

As we parked I could not help but admire how beautiful the place was. There was a private drive way, a beautiful front yard, the house had a big balcony attached to the top floor. "It's beautiful" I said and he grinned, we went inside and I think I fell in love with the place. "So let's move your things to your room" he said but I stopped him as I had to let him know. "Mason listen I need you to know a few things about me before you decide to let me stay" I said and he looked at me with a confused expression. "Since we were kids I always felt it but never understood it, It's been 4 years since I finally accepted it. I am gay Mason" I said he looked shocked "Gay?" he said and I nodded "I don't feel attracted to women" I said and I noticed he took a step back which hurt a bit, he must have noticed because he tried to relax and spoke after a few seconds of thinking "So I don't think it will make a big difference, I mean as long as you don't fall for me I am good, as in .. uhh.. I mean as long as we remain as friends it should be fine" he said. I understood what he was trying to do and I decided to make him feel more relaxed. "Yeah I understand and anyway you are not my type" I said and he breathed.

He helped me take the things to my room while I insisted that I would pay rent for as long as I would stay here. I was happy he accepted me, I hope our friendship does not get affected. I decided to add another rule to my rules "Avoid dating guys from this town" I did not want to cause any embracement for Mason, I knew that people don't accept this kind of a relationship here and if dated any guy here it would spread like wild fire.
